  1. Good grief only got a 3rd for Clowney after waiting too long, and then trade two firsts and a second for Tunsil. BOB is a freaking joke.
  2. The leverage is that he can say no to signing the tag tender if the Texans are trading him to a team he doesn't want to go to
  3. Wonder if he'll have to divest the minority ownership stake in the Cleveland Indians.
  4. All I know is that the various Houston fashion designers better be offering crazy custom looks to Russ if he practices a few hundred threes a day and shoots better than 33% for the year.
  5. I am clearly biased, and this is an emotional take. But I believe that they are cursed for that bullshit that resulted in us playing that series in Tampa. And it'll be apparent as we continue to win and they continue to languish year after year. Don't know what to call the curse, using the term Harvey seems to belittle what happened in the Houston area that year. Maybe on of y'all can come up with a name.
  6. Yeah but Correa's arm behind the plate would SHUT DOWN the running game for those three outs.
  7. Yup, great read. Anybody seen this picture? "It was All-Star week, and his former teammates were getting ready to take a group photo. In all, there were six Houston players at the Midsummer Classic, the most of any American League club. Five of them, including Cole and Verlander, had spent all or part of the past two seasons playing alongside Morton. Now, here they were in Cleveland, getting ready to pose. But the tableau was missing something. "Come on over, Chuck!" the Astros squad hollered. It was a reminder of the lesson Morton has spent this entire season proving: You can take the pitcher out of Houston, but you can't take the Houston out of the pitcher."
  8. God I love test cricket. India is going to wreck this Windies team. Good job blowing your review, Australia.
  9. AFC South is up for grabs with the Andrew Luck retirement. Go get an RB that doesn't suck.
  10. This defense is going to drive me nuts all season
  11. Man these bets are just silly
  12. PM sent
  13. Most of the classic posters have already been covered. I don't remember if anybody has posted the Back to the Future poster, but that's the only other one I can think of. Bonus for it being referenced in the sequel posters.
  14. Good grief they just disappeared in the second half, lucky to get a point
  15. Sometimes I think these August swoons happen every season just so the baseball gods can remind us how bad things were in the dark days of the early 2010s. Message received. Now go out there and get back on track.

    The Unicorn

I'm a nerd so I watch all the upfront trailers. I will give this a shot because I'll give anything that Boyd Crowder is in a shot.
  17. Once more into the late West Coast games breach.
  18. Gerrit Cole signs extension with Astros confirmed. Unless you meant 2021 opener for some other team.
  19. Our two best players started too (Kante and Pull because I'm a homer). Shirley a coincidence.
  20. My heart says Chelsea my head says we doomed. C'mon Chelsea.
  21. Here's the registration for the logo in Class 25 (apparel). Note that it specifically states color is not claimed as a feature. Meaning it covers the logo in all colors.
  22. They would likely have a case because trademark registrations don't technically specify directionality, and it's clear the horns down is supposed to evoke the trademark owner But they would never hear the end of it from rivals, which is probably why they'll never do it.
  23. This thread reminds me of the Texas-Tennessee trademark settlement. Honestly some of it may be IP law legend around these parts, but there's probably some basis in truth. TL;DR version I've been told is that there was a brouhaha about "UT". So the schools divided the country along the Mississippi. Allegedly, the impact of the settlement (though perhaps not the specific wording) was that trademark licensing revenue west of the Mississippi, even for Vols gear, went to Austin. And similarly, east of the Mississippi went to Knoxville. Here's one article that describes it a little. https://www.upi.com/Archives/1986/02/14/The-University-of-Texas-has-reached-a-settlement-with/9255508741200/ Vols don't really use the UT as much as the orange T these days.
  24. Legit, because it is has unfortunately become required by the trademark regime in the US. Another poster went over the reasons why naked licensing won't help.
  25. Sorry for partying?
