This is my concern dude. I want her to be given a chance to lead. Politically everyone is notating the overwhelming response to his death. And the number of requests for chapters. Itās foolish I guess to assume or want to have hope that the powers that be on both sides will truly ever allow my sex to lead jackshit, this is why I have to blow off steam at the lake, ya know? Iām sure everyone can understand š

Here is the article from the NYT. On Erika. I donāt think itās behind a paywall. But I could also find the author and invite them to Rainey⦠https://www.nytimes.com/2025/09/21/us/politics/erika-kirk.html

Well her husband was just killed. Anger is appropriate? Rage and venom is part of it? I stubbed my toe on the coffee table this morning and called it a stupid mother fucker and to die in a fire. š„ I didnāt mean it. I was in pain. lol. š I love everyone mostly my dude, I am also able to compartmentalize my lake hobbies so maybe Iām not the best voice to listen to. Now that I think about it.

Itās true that I cannot know whatās in her heart. I can only have hope. This is her first chance to lead. I know in her marriage she supported her husband. He led the movement. She was the supportive wife backing him up. Now she is a widow. Like loads of First Ladies of the US many hold different views and opinions privately than their President husbands. Once they leave office we later learn that they have many different opinions that do not match their husbands. I have no idea what private thoughts she had. Or has. I am sure those will also evolve over time. one thing is clear the Turning Point stuff belongs to her now. Whether people will follow her is another thing entirely if she blazes a completely different trail. This is her first chance to lead. I am giving her grace to see what the movement looks like under her leadership. She is taking the mantle. what will it look like? She may have very different opinions that evolve over time now that she has been put in charge.

I havenāt had a chance to read everyoneās responsesā¦and I should be putting this in the Christ followers thread so my badā¦but The NY Times is quoting her as saying she fears putting his killerās death on her ledger and that will keep her from reuniting with Charlie in Heaven. So many of us believe this. This idea that bloodlust or revenge or wanting death for another human will keep us from seeing our loved ones. So powerful, but I think if anyone can calm down the rhetoric itās her. I saw the overwhelming response to her and many but not all of these people will listen to her. Will follow her example. as @troph has said: it takes a woman to do this. No offense to you dudes. But most of us ladies do not wish to see more death. And destruction. And revenge. And riots and hate to persist. I bet she has to forgive Charlieās every half hour. That takes a level of control that is hard. But it is so much better for the country and for her own self and her kids for her to do this. Impressive, She should have been the one to close out. To finish. To be the last word. Her last words were actually the message people needed to hear and to follow that then got buried under a political rally type speech. She should have been the final word that people heard as they exited. It was far more powerful her saying she forgave his killer as a message to leave with the audience with. I am glad the media picked up on her statement and made sure it was emphasized. Over all else. That was said. This will be a topic in churches on Sunday and at water coolers and dinner tables. It has a profound effect, Like I said earlier, getting to know family members of people who have been murdered, forgiveness frees them. I donāt know how else to describe it, the ones donāt forgiveāI have witnessed families and people just completely fall apart. So that should have been the message that people were left with. Not a political speech. š¤ off my soapbox. Forgiveness is so hard. But itās necessary. Not because someone DESERVES forgiveness but because it is necessary imo. Sorry I went all religion up in here. I was just blown away she did that. Itās so damned important.

this is so powerful to me. I will leave my other thoughts about what it means to be a Christian a true Christian in the appropriate thread. I am reading the tea leaves and reading the gossip online that she doesnāt want the Death Penalty for the man who murdered Charlie. If thatās true, based on her remarks about forgiving him today, I would hope that her wishes are honored here. Hate only brings more hate. Truth. Once a crime has pretty much been solved I move onto the next one. but to me it is always so powerful when a loved one of a murder victim is able to forgive the murderer. Allowing that hate and anger to take hold (and Iāve seen it personally destroy people) so for the sake of her kids I think itās a profoundly important step to being able to move forward. Jmo. I doubt I will post in this thread again unless there are crime developments. I aināt changing anyoneās mind and people aināt gonna change mine. I just have seen knowing people who have lost someone to murder take one of two paths: hanging onto hare and anger and sorrow or choosing to forgive. And how those choices impact them going forward and their families.

GIPHY I typed in unhinged or something similar and that popped up so I saved it. Amazing how if you type out a random word it brings an occasional gem Iāve never seen, I typed in exploding and I wound up going down a rabbit hole of exploding Disney princesses. Priceless. this is how I feel thinking Iāve made a good point only to have my comment quoted and blasted. š me pretty much 90% of the time on surly:

Secret sauce, he needs to get chippy that way. So just get him goingā¦he seems to really like that. Itās a different person flipping the switch wise. This is a true test of Sarkās creativity on offense but also knowing when to support and when to let him rip. Arch is mentally sound he just needs to be Arch. Let Arch be Arch man.

Maybe this will be a watershed moment for Sam Houston to either ditch football or try to be like Texas State or UTSA.
-
Yep. Working great watching it in a hotel room. On the tv.

This. also with him I think we will get to see the moment it clicks for him. In game. Once that switch flips we good. Hope it happens before OU. I think our defense can destroy Florida.
-
Yeah. What happens when she decides she done pissing mom and dad off (she seems like the type) and decides she wants to ditch him for someone else? Sheās profoundly wealthy. Or her folks are.

Off topic about D4vd but on topic about true crime: so Oscar Pistorius is now out of the slammer and he is dating or shacked up with a very very wealthy woman. I only bring it up bc in a creepy twist, this girlfriend looks identical to Reeva. I leave the pics below for comparison, apart from the fact the world has gone batshit I will never understand women who want to be with a murderer. Much less a man who murders his significant other. I donāt see this ending well. as a testament to how murder affects the family members to the victims: since Reevaās murder her father died after suffering one stroke after another. Before his passing he visited Oscar in jail and asked him to put his hand on a bible and swear he didnāt intentionally kill Reeva. Oscar according to Reevaās dad refused leading him to conclude that Oscar in fact did it on purpose. After Reevaās father died his wife struggled to move on and is in debt. She also suffered a stroke I believe and is pretty much like a dementia patient. I understand she is broke and people are trying to get money for her care. Sad shit. his life moves on and he meets a wealthy woman. Reevaās ended and her parents lives may not have ceased that day but itās pretty much like they did, thatās why itās so important to get justice or to find the missing. Even if people donāt care for a particular victim and weāve seen that happen far too much lately for my likingāpeople need to understand that it wasnāt just the victimās life that ended that day. It has a ripple effect that touches everyone in the victimās inner circle, I hope Celeste gets justice. There is never any closure ā¦but justice is a necessary step towards any attempt at healing. ā¤ļøā𩹠the resemblance is uncanny no?

Amateur move. No killer worth their salt puts remains in their car. This tragic crime is either a Law & Order SVU episode or itās a Coen Brothers movie.

Iām stunned. I would have thought Iowaās apparatus would have malfunctioned and self destructed if they scored more than 38 points. Sucks for Rutgers but it is interesting to see Iowa with an offense.

I need Tulsa to win. First time since 1951 they win at OSU. This needs to fucking happen. what the hell is going on with OSU? And Gundy? And how does he even remotely keep his job after this? If Tulsa wins. The season is already shot. wtf? Surely they can hire some up and coming badass at a UNT or Texas State type of thing that would jump at chance to coach at a bigger school with a chance for more national attention?

I have rheumatoid arthritis, it absolutely works. I like the kind that is applied like a roll on deodorant type of thing. creams are also good as well. It helps so much. Many of my girlfriends also use the cream on their feet and ankles if they want to go out wearing high heels š and be out all night. Itās a game changerānot that you asked for that intel, but we got chicks on this forum too. it works pretty well for me in a way medication doesnāt. Iāve had arthritis since my late teens. one thing that also helps is soaking in Epson salt. for me itās a bathtub filled with epson salt then after the warm bath applying the CBD. That to me helps the CBD work even better. Jmo, hope that helps š¤š¼
