How can you say never disciplined Hernandez, when he didn't murder anyone at Florida. He sounds like a masterful disciplinarian to contain that monster for four years
Aaron Hernandez was a serial killer who happened to play football. Period.

Do you really think it’s $9.95 though? I’m not rich but I’d pay more.

TLDR (in advance: Tom sucks)
Sam Ehlinger scored six touchdowns and Texas still lost.
Texas lost its second straight game of the season and once again fell short in the Red River Shootout in a thrilling 53-45 four-overtime thriller against Oklahoma. This wasn’t a showdown of top-10 teams. These were two proud programs looking to stay relevant, and the Longhorns failed in defeat.
At some point you must stop wondering if the Longhorns will turn the corner. Now is the time to question whether the right people are in place to steer the wheel.
As entertaining as it was late in the fourth quarter and throughout the four overtimes, Oklahoma only delayed the inevitable. Tom Herman's Longhorns trailed 31-17 in the final 4 minutes of regulation and if not for Ehlinger’s heroics, Texas would have lost in regulation and we’d all be sitting here discussing just how terrible the Longhorns’ offense looked against a weak Oklahoma defense.
These Longhorns will not win the Big 12. They will not contend for a New Year’s Six bowl berth.
And they may finish with a losing record.
Texas is, in fact, not back. Pack that meme away. It's not happening this year or next year.
The offense is incredibly inconsistent even with one of the top quarterbacks in the country, and that's mostly because the offensive line is just not very good, which we should have been seen coming from a mile away considering Herb Hand’s penchant for de-constructing units once arriving on a college campus. The defense hasn’t proven worthy to stop above-average offenses and who truly believes improvement is coming any time soon, particularly with a Halloween date with Oklahoma State on the calendar? The Longhorns are also among the most undisciplined teams in the country, routinely ranking near the bottom nationally in penalties in the Herman era.
Both Oklahoma and Texas will lose games again this season. One of them might just finish with a losing season.
Tough questions will require difficult answers, even during this time of economic turmoil amid a pandemic. Is the end near for Herman? Is Texas headed in the right direction?
No. Herman is 1-4 against OU and in-state rival TCU is 3-1 against him. That hasn’t cut it for previous coaches at Texas. Why should Herman be any different?
(didn’t see my disclaimer before TLDR: Tom still sucks and so does OU)

How do y'all motherfuckers manage to make every god damn thread about the fucking Cowboys somehow
There are some comparisons that make sense. You can't really compare them to the Texans.

I agree, this is a problem.
Let me ask you this: Why didn't we replace The Eyes with something else?
We have a head coach who doesn't care?

Tom, Sam and Dak. Two of those names have no quit in them. Fight and keep fighting. Today, Dak is done (hopefully not for the long count). Sam and Dak are both leaders. Always fighting. No quit in them. Tom is a fraud. A gimmick. A charlatan. Both teams are lucky to have had Sam and Dak. Both Sam and Dak have flaws. they make mistakes. they aren't even close to perfect. But Tom is a SOB. I hate this weekend of football and I hope that @South Austin mom can do the 37 blow job thing so we can at least find a competent leader here at Texas. As far as Dallas goes, I am not sure that will change shit until Jerry dies. At least Texas doesn't have to wait on one person to pull the trigger on an obvious mistake in a HC>

Most posters would agree that it is not about a song. Sure there are cunts on both sides of this issue. To wit, one side saying that fans being upset over a song are assholes/players being upset over a song are assholes. It is about abandoning a 100 year tradition and replacing it with nothing. Almost every P5 college has traditions. And almost all of them do something win or lose after a game. We replaced it with nothing. A song that has nothing to do with racism and replaced it with losing and running off the field and not acknowledging the fans. I get the players wanted to use the song as a bargaining chip in their list of demands for a movement of grave importance. I would bet my life on the fact that the vast majority of us fans support equality and SJ and the right of human beings to be treated as such. But our HC is a loser fraud. When the OU site even takes pity on Sam and says as much that he was the only player out there. Our HC has failed. And we have failed as a team. And give me a fucking break. I can think of fans of no school who wouldn't be pissed off. Sorry. Name one P5 school that doesn't have traditions and then abandons them and replaces them with nothing.

I doubt USC is in play right now. They're giving Helton at least another year after hiring new coordinators
Got to give Helton some credit. Its the last "ace in the hole" you can play when you suck as a HC. Herman played his ace. this past year.

I think that @South Austin mom is going to have to give more than 37 blowjobs to get this done. Sorry. I know you love your mom.

that’s because jerry and stephen are terrible negotiators. they pay out to the salary cap. they can be accused of a lot of things, being stupid is definitely one of them, but not stingy.
On this agree. Jerruh is still trying to field a 1990's team in the 2000's and its 2020. Fucker can't figure it out. Jimmy was the reason. Period. And when you hit the right note like that you support them and keep them and stay out of the fucking way. Kraft has the rings now to prove it. Let the real GM and HC take care of the football. and you can wear the rings and get one stolen by Putin.

Well in a weekend of shit football. I play this only because he came in and won it for Dallas/Dak.
The band is not lost on me. Red Rider.

One thing that has been constant (fuck you 2020) is that there is always the obligatory, "For you old mofos looking to watch 60 minutes...sorry."

I'm just hoping the ankle (whatever injury) isn't like Teddy Bridgewater. Surgery right away is scary. JMO.

Season is definitely over. And all the folks that hate Dak will get a nice reality lesson.
Never understood the Dak hate. For fucks sake. Guy is playing out of his mind> fuck. Damn you Dak haters.

If Herman is still here for the rest of the 2020 season, I am just waiting for him to take this epic sports quote and make it his own:
(Courtesy of NBA Executive (at the time) Pat Williams): "We can't win at home. We can't win on the road. I just can't figure out where else to play."
-
When we are a topic of pity (ridicule/hate/jokes I get--I hate OUSux too) on the Sooners board (I think of Blake and probably the only time I have ever felt a small bit of pity for OU) we have to get rid of Herman. Seriously. God Bless America with this shit.
https://www.dirtburglars.com/forum/sports-forums/athletics/football
Like three or four topics and quite a few pity us. This is the worst team they have fielded since they hired Stoops and yes, I know, Fuck OU, but this is how we are seen. A mark. We are a mark. Get rid of Herman.

Herman needs to be fired immediately. If not today, then Monday.
I keep referring to his comment in the presser yesterday after the loss:
"How do we get a group of guys that want to be great to translate their play in practice to games. That's Job No. 1 right now.
(The writer for the article responded by saying: this is NOT a QUESTION you ask in Year four of a regime.)
Herman is a fucking fraud. He parlayed his gimmick into millions and two HC jobs. Time to see him for what he is. A fucking fraud. Period. He has to go. SOB is playing like he just came in here with Strong's talent and is on year one of the Job. Jeez.

I sure am glad we didn’t sign him to a massive contract or anything...that’s good.
Dallas is really really bad.

"How do we get a group of guys that want to be great to translate their play in practice to the games?" Herman asked. "That's Job No. 1 right now."
That question shouldn't be asked in Year 4 of a regime. Every team in the country started with the same hinderance -- COVID-19. Texas has taken steps backward on its way out of the top 25. The 'Horns started the game with the sixth-most penalties among Power Five teams. Then they went out and committed 11 more against the Sooners.
This downturn for Herman in Year 4 is not only disappointing but bewildering. Something has to change at Texas.
There will be plenty of Herman-on-the-hot-seat columns out there in the coming days. Those are easy to write after a game like this, especially considering OU has won five of the last six and nine of the last 12 meetings. Riley has won three of his four Red River games, four of five meetings including the 2018 Big 12 Championship Game.

I like how people who bring up Urban Meyers dark side seem to imply that Herman is some kind of moral yardstick. Didn’t he get caught snorting coke of some stripper or airline stewardess titties or something like that? I’m sure Herman is up to all kinds of “win at all cost” bullshit. His only problem is that he can’t figure out the win part very well.
The only coach I’m aware of that doesn’t have a dark side is Fleck? Unless all that row the boat stuff is some kind of Manchurian level mindfuck.

So we don’t have to pimp out @South Austin mom for the 37 blowjobs? That’s a relief. For her I mean.
