Oh...did that little guy make it? Holy shit. What a badass!

and yes, thank you Tom! We had (sports media) consensus Heisman level QB candidate and watched him regress in his senior year. Stellar job! Top notch!

That was a great play for 4th and 2.  Horrible for 4th and 8.  One of the many reasons he needs to go.

Exactly. Tom even gave a big reason in his own words in a presser a few weeks ago (after a loss—I think it was TCU and not OU). “How do you get a group of guys who want to be great to show us in games what they show us in practice?” (It is not exact quote—I quoted it a few weeks ago—but the idea is the same).

the point is, Tom doesn’t know. He doesn’t know now and he didn’t know then. In year four (as pointed out by @jdhorn92 it’s like it’s 1 year x4 for Herman), he doesn’t know.

I would have some sympathy for him if it wasn’t for the Mensa arrogance rammed down our throats. He doesn’t know why practice “excellence” doesn’t translate into victories in games. He simply doesn’t know. And here endeth the lesson. It’s a little scary to be the HC of a major program and ask that question out loud in a presser after games. Even scarier that we paid him millions upon millions to not know.

  3. Analytics are just great in the hands of great HC. Listening to Urban talk about what Bama will be missing without Saban on the field. (COVID) Sagan’s expertise is on defense and so in a situational sense that’s what they will be “missing” so to speak even though Saban isn’t calling the plays and is more of a game manager HC. UM said his expertise was on offense and so in certain situations (4th down etc) that’s when he would be consulted in the games. What do we do here? Then they talked about Texas and Iowa State. UM said it was a shame (posted this in the other thread) that a great player like Sam had his last play at home be a sack. Quoted Breece Hall’s remark about it being five star culture vs five star players. Said it’s hard to bet against Iowa State in the Big 12 right now. That they have a winning mentality—think they won’t be beat then they can’t be beat.

anyway, analytics are fine in the hands of a HC that knows how to use them. And also employs their expertise (be it on offense or defense) additionally.

Was thinking this morning. If Urban CUMs, I would love to be a fly on the wall of his meeting with Sam.

If Urban is coming here then I would imagine if he wants to keep Sam (Sam is a competitor) all he has to say is, “Son do you want your last play at home to be a sack that sets up a missed field goal?”

Urban’s comments were great this morning on our game. Impressed he quoted the five star culture remark.

  5. Urban Meyer saying it was a shame that Sam’s last play in the stadium was a sack. Also mentioned Breece Hall’s comment about five star culture vs five star players. Talked about a winning mentality and that a team that believes (wont be beat) can’t be beat. Thinks Iowa State can win Big 12. Hmmmm...hard to bet against Iowa State right now, Urban said. The team that thinks they won’t be beat can’t be beat. It was the same mentality he said they had at Utah his second year. Thinks they could have beat USC. Leinart and Reggie Bush just laughed and Urban said, “hey let’s bring everybody back and see!” Lol

  6. The dominos keep falling. Shocked we have been able to have the season that we have had so far. This is depressing but I guess expected. Again, as I have posted before, I wish we had a true CFP system. We don’t. Not saying that this would save the season this year but I think about the conferences that have already almost played a full season and feel like they shouldn’t be penalized bc they aren’t a Bama or don’t meet whatever whacked criteria the committee has. I see RC Slocum is on that committee. One of two HCs.

It’s hard to be disappointed when you expect the worst. I’m just preparing.

    I understand the sentiment completely.
I am not knocking Fancy boots. Not my thing.  But boots were made for walking...

the thing is, a lot of people (if they are being honest) do not want a HC like Urban bc they will lose their access to the program. This isn’t mostly about some “moral” high ground. Yes, they want their access. We have been running our program like a banana republic for far too long.

a lot of people my mom’s age etc...miss Mack the most because of access. Because of the dinners and the luncheons where they’d get a chance to go and see the HC or the players. They’d bitch about the games and bitch about Mack and Greg Davis and losing to OU but they had their “access” so to speak so it was all good.

we bring in Urban or something damn similar and that will change. And that more than any “moral” stand they have about him is what matters. And that’s hypocrisy at its zenith. “I only care that I have my access, as piddly as it is, fuck what happens on the field and to the program as a whole.”

I didn't say Herman wasn't the major factor moron. Stop stanning for Ehlinger, I even specifically mentioned a lack of coaching as the possible cause of his error. He fucked up bigtime and trying to deny that is silly.

And being called an imbecile by someone as completely clueless as you is actually an honor, so thanks.

    You’re welcome shithead! 😘

  9. Here comes Tom Herman’s postgame presser. LHN is trashing him on the play calling.

At least I can root openly for Iowa State from here on out. I wanted to win today. Because I root for the players. Fan of the program. Not a fan of Tom. But if we lost Tom needed to go. I am sad for the fans and the seniors but if we get Tom gone it’s best for the program.

So Ehlinger's complete inability to get rid of the ball from inside the pocket (that some around here argued wasn't an issue a few weeks ago) may have cost us the game.

Senior who either still hasn't figured that out or still hasn't been coached how to do it.

Tom cost us the game you imbecile. It shouldn’t have come down to that. Several drives and that gem of a fake punt cost us this. Sam has limitations but honestly Tom is a POS.

  11. Tom is a fucking clown ass fraud. Fuck him. If we lose he should be fired posthaste. Today. Period.

Also, it should be clear that Sam has given UT everything he has in spite of the fact that Tom is a mother fucking asshat arrogant fuckstick. Sam has kept the ship as steady as he can. All you Sam haters can fight me. I may weigh a buck twenty but I pull hair and will kick you in the shins. I am scrappy.

Yes that is my point.  He is not winning so his act has worn thin.  I thought he looked like a fool at the Mizzou game.  You think Saban or any coach worth a damn would be doing that crap.

Exactly. They don’t have to. Scoreboard.

  13. Would be nice if the schools that started the season much earlier and managed to get in 6 or so games (and are undefeated) had a shot to play. But we have no legit CFP in my opinion. There will be a ton more games canceled if they can even get to a CFP. Which is seeming less likely. This sucks.
