  1. Maybe RFK is making a savvy long play to cement his legacy. By going full nut job, he sucks votes away from Trump, gives Harris the W, and meaningfully helps the Democrats win an election. He was never going to be President on his own, but he has a very real opportunity effect the outcome.
  2. It's bad for Trump if Kennedy stays in until the end. Kennedy isn't taking a single Harris vote.
  3. Pryes makes better beer than Surly anyhow.
  4. It's not at all my kind of music, but my wife is really into her and it seems like pretty much every woman under the age of 40 in the Midwest has become mildly obsessed with her, so it's sort of inescapable in my life. It's definitely thoughtful, well done pop music. I just don't really like pop music.
  5. It's unseasonably cool right now, in the best possible way. Weather doesn't really get better than what we've got in the Upper Midwest the next 5-6 days.
  6. WVU tailgate destroys CU. I’m obviously biased, but you can find lots of posts from UT fans who went to games in Ames praise ISU’s as well. OK State is awesome, and KSU is fairly similar to the Pokes and Clones but smaller.
  7. There's a guy in my town who has an RFK yard sign. He also has gargoyle statues on his porch.
  8. Iowa State behind Cincy, ASU, UCF, CU for tailgating is nuts and clearly not arrived at by anyone who's gone to these games. KSU, WVU, and OK State are very similar.
  9. I would literally nut. We'd probably do better against the 5 seed than they would anyhow. They got outscored 96-0 by ranked teams last year. We at least kept it interesting with you guys.
  10. Part of that was the mood of the time. As late as 2018 the Democrats (when Walz was first elected) were still getting a lot of votes in southern Minnesota (and northern Iowa as well). I live right next door and I've seen a larger number (and just generally higher intensity) of Trump displays in Minnesota (a state that Harris will win fairly comfortably) than I do in Iowa (a state that Trump will win fairly comfortably) and it has a lot to do with the persecution complex that's just rampant in any rural area that shares a state with a major city. Following the 2018 election, even Iowa had 3/4 US House districts represented by a Democrat, which seems unfathomable two election cycles later. Social media broke the brains of a large portion of rural Americans who were actual swing voters as recent as a 6 years ago. I don't know if there's a way to get them back.
  11. Gotcha. I think he could do that. I'm probably still team Kelly, but love a lot about Walz. I think the most effective attack against him will come in the form of the Minneapolis riots, but that falls far more on the mayor than it does Walz, who actually called in the National Guard to get shit under control.
  12. He hasn't reached his own rural white constituents. They hate his guts. I like Walz a lot. Would love to have him as a governor. But I don't think he's really reaching rural whites based on the Minnesota voting map.
  13. I was a huge Burr fan prior to that and still am. He laid Rogan’s bullshit bare here
  14. Yeah, Burr destroying him during COVID was probably the moment where I decided he was a fucking idiot that was doing more harm than good.
  15. I’m pretty sure the state you’re from has a far more problematic history of race relations.
  16. I guess I disagree. Don’t make me defend this dipshit, but I just don’t see why a white supremacist would routinely give black people a platform. There are plenty of objectively observable things wrong with Rogan. Piling unfounded charges of white supremacy derails from the mountain of legitimate criticism IMO.
  17. I’m no Rogan fan, but I don’t think he’s a white supremacist. He promotes a shit ton of black artists.
  18. OSU and Wazzu fans thinking they might get a Big 12 invite is like Utah and Kansas fans thinking they might get a Big 10/SEC invite. If it was going to happen, it would have a long time ago. For the record, I’d enjoy having both, but their profile is much more similar to MWC schools.
  19. Nah. Lots of non-sports stuff. Don’t really go into the UT specific stuff. Always enjoyable to watch Aggy getting roasted though.
  20. TIL Sark is a BYU alum. I always thought Armenians were super Catholic.
  21. That USD logo sips shit.
  22. Exactly this. I have friends who don't necessarily believe in conspiracy theories, but they tend to react to any facts inconvenient to their emotionally held beliefs as some kind of concoction of a biased media source. Or maybe they do believe it and just hide it from me because I tell them that conspiracy theories are fucking stupid. Either way, it's an internal defense mechanism to quickly explain a world that often simply defies basic explanation.
  23. I enjoy roasting a bunch on my grill, chopping them up, and bagging/freezing them for winter chili or smoked queso endeavors. I don't think they're hot at all, but they give that nice green chile flavor to stuff, and up here we don't always green chiles sitting around (not fresh ones anyhow). So the Hatch hype/marketing bullshit gets them in my hands in the first place, I suspect.

    Nirvana

The riffs on Bleach fuckin' rip, but that drummer pales so badly in comparison to Dave Grohl that it's hard for me to spend as much time with it. I'd give a lot of money to hear a version of Bleach with Dave on drums.
  25. Michigan shut Iowa out in the Big 10 CCG. I think they'd have been fine in the regular season. But your greater point stands, and with the massive conferences we're going to see some seriously imbalanced schedules. Hell, we already are. Just look at Florida and Missouri. Same conference, wildly different difficulty of schedule. The committee has the ability to address some of this nonsense with their selections, but I doubt they'll let SOS and imbalanced schedules get in the way of picking match ups with better ratings.
