  1. Brandy is how they poison Old Fashioneds in Wisconsin. Just disgusting. One of the few things I don't care for about that state's culture.
  2. It's not considered bad form in the Midwest to bring kids to breweries and neighborhood bars FWIW. Especially if they serve food. Any of the breweries are gonna be fairly kid friendly. I think kids would have fun down by the lake near the Summerfest grounds and art museum. That's walking distance from downtown. The Public Market and Third Ward in general would be kid friendly and solid places to wander around.
  3. 100% on board with this. Their first 2-3 records had some pretty great stuff, but they've been irredeemably bad for 90% of their career.
  4. It always bothered me that they didn't have a bass player, but there was plenty of bass guitar on those records. It's more of a reaction to them being lauded as great and being real fucking average at best (besides the two songs I do think are stone cold bangers).
  5. I honestly think it's his masterpiece. Between the details of the story and the absolutely soaring "belt it out at the top of your lungs" chorus melody, it's just a stunning piece of art in a career that's casually littered with them.
  6. I love the Who, hate the Doors. Except Roadhouse Blues and LA Woman
  7. Yeah, I haven’t sought out a non-local craft beer in years. When I travel I drink what’s native there.
  8. Early Father’s Day present
  9. This makes a boat load of sense. They'll probably keep the "SEC" part because it still kinda makes sense. None of the other conference names do. The Big 12 has 16. The Big 10 has 18. The ACC has Stanford, Cal, SMU, and Louisville.
  10. Right. It's fantastic. But these decisions have been made on a football basis, and outside of maybe 5 schools, anyone else dilutes the pot for the Big 10 and SEC. The Big 10 and SEC are already full of schools that don't add any value and are no different than the Big 12 or ACC schools once you take away their Big 10/SEC paycheck. It is far more likely that those schools take a hair cut to stay in the club than it is that the Big 10 or SEC add some school that they've passed over in the last 5 rounds of realignment.
  11. Then why aren’t they there now? It’s because Kansas is in a small state and is not a historic football brand. And you can’t become a football brand now for these purposes. I understand your line of thought, but if this were their thinking Kansas would be in the Big 10 now.
  12. The SEC and Big 10 aren’t adding a single current Big 12 school. They’ve had opportunity to take them all and passed. Multiple times. Any Big 12 school that thinks this a potential option is wasting their energy. The schools they want are ND and a few ACC schools. The only question is if Notre Dame relents and which of those ACC schools they take and whether they agree to a future playoff with the eventual Big 12/ACC third conference. Which they probably will, but just continue to structure it where they get the bulk of the bids and the bulk of the cash.
  13. Conference smack talk. Such a big boy. So tough. ”I cheer for a school with more fans and money than yours so I’m better than you”. Micro-peen energy. This whole sport is headed in awful direction and you just haven’t been effected negatively yet.
  14. The SEC and Big 10 have routinely done things they didn’t have to just to make more. Why would PE be the bridge they refuse to cross?
  15. No one is going to do this if it loses money. Everyone will do it if it makes money.
  16. If there’s money to be made, it’s going to happen. There is literally no other consideration in this sport at this point.
  17. Nah, next week the SEC and Big 10 will announce $2B in private equity.
  18. Nothing. The people who care about that shit are morons though.
  19. Exactly. The Big 10 won’t kick them out, but they’ll be making barely better money than the Big 12/ACC.
  20. I love Silverada (don't care for their name change, but not because of "woke", just used to something else) and I'm not completely digging the new dance pop sound of Wallflower or Radio Wave. Anywhere But Here and Stay By My Side (totally Willie-esque) are among some of their best tunes. Pretty interested to see which way the new album leans. I really dug the cosmic honky tonk shit on Cheap Silver, and thought One To Grow On was/is one of the best country albums of the past decade. Stands up next to Isbell, Turnpike, Sturgill, etc.
  21. I was extremely humbled when I started mountain biking. I’m a strong road cyclist that can handle about anything on pavement. The first time I had to walk a climb all I could think was “how am I such a fucking pussy?” The fact that it requires so much in the moment focus is what hooked me.
  22. My wife is anti-kimchi. I have a man cave in our third garage stall and I keep the kimchi in my beer fridge. We’re all surviving. It’s amazing though. If I eat kimchi in the house and she’s gone, she can home 3-4 hours later and immediately know.
