  1. Frog will be a motherfucker. Kansas has given us fits the last few years as well. Glad we don’t have Utah
  2. I just hope they fire Gundy soon. I can’t shake the idea that our Thanksgiving weekend matchup will be a freshly minted interim paying us back for 2011
  3. RBs are fine, but we need to have an investigation into the receiving corps’ Draft Kings account
  4. I realize you're being facetious, but I'd rather play those games than Wyoming. I absolutely hate that we quit playing them in hoops (total bitch move on our part, but the committee kinda forced it on us). That said, a home and home in Laramie would be fun as hell I suspect.
  5. When the ACC brand schools leave for the Big 10 and SEC, I'd imagine the mid tier ACC schools like SMU, Louisville, Pitt, NC State, Cuse, etc will join up with the Big 12 in a 3rd conference.
  6. Like I said, he's a small dick with a weird cult of internet sycophants. I couldn't care less if the guy is racist or not. He's already proven to be a complete piece of shit regardless.
  7. I love the Iron Skillet game - it's bullshit that they aren't playing going forward. And I would rather watch that game than USC/PSU because those schools hate each other and that makes for a more interesting match up to me than about anything else in the sport. It's a cross-town rivalary. Texas vs an in-state G5 is absolutely more interesting than Texas vs an out-of-state G5. Of course, the odds of SHSU being competitive are extremely low. The odds of TCU/SMU/Baylor being competitive with Texas are much, much higher. We've seen it many times. USC/PSU is a fun one off. I would find PSU/Pitt and USC/Cal to be more interesting games in general though.
  8. KSU during Covid
  9. George Jones fucking owns this lane.
  10. Several things: 1) Athens, Ohio is not Midwestern. It's Appalachia. 2) Fuck Iowa. 3) Fuck Iowa.
  11. https://www.bannersociety.com/2019/9/9/20856722/iowa-iowa-state-rivalry-el-assico
  12. I had a Whataburger in western Arky last year. It didn't suck in terms of the food, but good lord was the service fucking abysmal. My first experiences (Houston area in 2009) set a real high bar.
  13. Fuck the Hawks!
  14. I know a lot of guys who have switched to Velo due to cost. I like Zyn better - I can't articulate why - and I'm not a daily user (only when drinking), so I'll pay the extra.
  15. As a fan of the sport with no rooting interest in either side, Texas playing SMU would be way more interesting to me than Texas playing Ole Miss. In-state/regional games are what make the day to day grind go round, IMO. This idea that every game has to be a clash of blue bloods is only going to lead to those games being kinda meaningless. It's fun and exciting now, but that's largely because it's rare. It was such a big fucking deal that Texas and Ohio State played last week because Texas and Ohio State rarely play.
  16. One thing I like about the status quo is we have 3 of our cousins on the conference slate (KSU, KU, Ok St) and 1 (Iowa) every year in non conference.
  17. I know YOU don't think that. You've always seemed pretty rational. I suspect statsman actually does believe it.
  18. Do you really think there are more UT fans than Tech fans at a game in Lubbock?
  19. I think you can only rev share up to $20M. The rest has to come from NIL, which most blue bloods have in spades. The financial advantage for the Big 10 and SEC is largely coaching and facility budgets (which is certainly material, but hasn't done dick for Nebraska). If you put a "brand" school in the Big 12, they wouldn't be that disadvantaged by the conference. It never kept Texas or OU out of the 4 team playoff.
  20. Didn't you guys win natties in the SWC? And your '05 Big 12 schedule looks pretty much identical in terms of strength to what you had in your last decade of Big 12 play. The North sucked ass that year and OU and Aggy were both shitty. Baylor was old Baylor and OK State was also dog shit. I don't think Texas is winning because the competition is better. It probably has more to do with Sark being a damn good coach who doesn't tolerate the shitty culture that had set in (see the bus rant after we beat your ass in '21). Don't get me wrong, the SEC move is a clear success for Texas, but (pure outsider perspective) I think that has less to do with the SEC and more to do with Texas.
  21. I think he just meant their program's general status. The money is all they have now. No success. No historic rivals. No strong recruiting grounds. They could barely beat the team that's likely finishing 13th in the 16 team Big 12. They're just ass.
  22. Nebraska would absolutely be better off in the Big 12, outside of having a smaller TV paycheck. And given their fan support, I'm not sure that said money is really helping them win anything. They raise enough money to cover that gap with a lot of other programs, and like you said they'd be playing games in more advantageous recruiting situations. I think Oklahoma will secretly regret being in the SEC a decade from now too. Texas is the only school to leave the Big 12 and find real success, and I suspect that will remain true a decade from now regardless of what the landscape of the sport looks like.
