Riding a fat bike.  The ones with wide tires. You can take them anywhere, including through snow.
    I opted for Army/Navy at a bar.

Order some Fat Tire and it's basically the same thing.

    Yeah, but amber ale....  pass.

  2. I somehow ended up being expected to Christmas shop with my wife tomorrow.  Or at least ride along.  I hate gift giving at Christmas, and I hate shopping.  I'm hoping I can leave her at the mall and either go fat biking, or watch the Army/Navy game in a bar.

This is going to be a test of the spirit and will.

Dude, that top 50 wasn't written by Bottle Cap, doesn't mean shit.

Also, had a New Belgium HPA over the summer, have yet to see it since.  Anyone else tried it?  (Hemp Pale Ale, quite aromatic)

I had a few 6 packs of Hemperor this summer, and enjoyed it.

More than once after I cracked and poured it, someone at the gathering thought someone was getting weed out.

I'd heard "Smear the Queer" sometime in college/post college, but didn't know what it was referring to until this calendar year. (2018)

We played "Tackle The Man With The Ball" growing up in our neighbor's yard or at school and I never knew that there was another name for it. (It's still the first/only name that pops into my head when I try to explain the game to a friend's 7 year-old son.)

SIDE NOTE: The only name I knew for a large "portable stereo" growing up was a "GHETTO BLASTER" until my older sister went to college in Massachusetts and mentioned "a jam box" when the was home over the holidays. I had to have her explain what she was talking about, because I only knew the one term. I think that I picked up "...a portable stereo..." from the SEARS & MONTGOMERY WARDS catalogs, but considered that more of a description than an actual name for the item.

    I almost don't believe this.

Texas ISU sets up as a brick fest for the ages

We won’t shoot this bad all year.  We’ve been fine till now.

Tonigjt doesn’t give me any concern for the season at large, but it does mean I’m avoiding social media for 24 hours.

What's the latest on Wiggington and Lard?

Lard's back.  Had some decent minutes Monday.  He looked a little lost, especially on offense, but played with good defensive intensity, lodging 2 blocks in his first two defensive possessions.

Not sure on Wigginton yet.  They aren't going to rush this injury.  Honestly, I don't think we need him to beat Iowa.

Mine likes to stop halfway into the intersection. I used to ask why she even bothered but I've just given up.

    I would actually take that.

Mine sits at lights after they turn green, and at stop signs too long (the Midwestern version of a Mexican Standoff is 4 people pulling up to a 4 way stop at the same time).  When I point this out, I'm accused of "yelling".  There has been no change in the volume of my voice.

And no easier thing for her to welch on when she inevitably loses the bet. If I had a blowjob for every blowjob that was promised to me or lost in a bet, I probably wouldn't bitch about all the shit she keeps buying.

Who am I kidding? There ain't enough blowjobs in the world for that.

    I'll cosign all of this.

I actually plan on not drinking any Busch Light unless it's free at a tailgate.  It's fine for a reliable cheap beer that you know you can get anywhere (around here), but it's been oddly fetishized by not only our fanbase, but the whole fucking state.

Traveling is an opportunity to try something else.  Not drink the same beer I drink every week, almost by accident.

Bro, if any of us had answers to these kinds of questions we would charge for them. I don't fucking know! Why does she stop so far back from the stop sign at a four way stop? Why does she back up while looking straight forward? Why has she never checked oil even once in her life? Why was the headlight light out dash indicator flashing and she never said anything until I hopped in her Audi to drive it?

I laughed harder at this than I feel good about.

  11. The only Scandinavian food I've ever cottoned to was lefse.  That's pretty good.  The rest of it scares me, and makes me glad for my ethnicity (mostly German, dash of eastern European mutt) and any ethnic meals in my family (either side) growing up were either crock pot brats stewed in chopped cabbage, beer, potatoes, and kraut or pierogis and cabbage rolls.

Perhaps.  But if Day is worth anything, he will need to get a good DC.  Why not another Heacock at Ohio State?

It's always a risk.  I do get the impression that Campbell and Heacock really enjoy working together, and Heacock is no spring chicken.  Allegedly he and his wife like Ames and aren't in a real big hurry to uproot again if they don't have to.

I realize every fan of a poachable school has a similar anecdote about someone who up and left (coughFredHoibergcough), but I'm not too worried about him leaving, and if he does, he does.  We likely won't find a DC as good, but our current DL coach Eli Rasheed is a good recruiter and might be ready to make that jump (Campbell likes to hire within his fold).  If he goes outside the program, I trust him to find a quality guy.

I used to always wanna hire from outside because you need fresh blood. But, as one of the podcasts said, corporations who are doing well* hire from the inside. You go outside when you need to shake it up. (Herman to Texas is an example of doing it right.) In that case, Day is the right hire. He's gonna need to replace 1-2 defensive coaches and maybe our OL coach. Other than that I think he'll retain everyone.

Regarding recruits, I think he'll keep all of our commits. Guys we're working on who have NOT committed? Gonna be tougher. Zach Harrison, I'm talking to you. Michigan will get a good one.

*Other than the Zach Smith thing.

Yup.  Look at OU and Riley.  When you're doing well, promote from within.  When you're tanking, go outside the existing structure.  If you look at the coaching changes over the last few years at blue blood schools, specifically OU, UT, Michigan, and Ohio State, you see 2 who were performing well with sudden retirements that included a promotion of the previous guy's protege, and two who had slipped and were looking for someone fresh to take the reigns.

The show tonight was awesome and the band was on point.  Felker was smart enough to lay low on Oklahoma talk.  He said he'd skip a story about where he grew up before one song and when he introduced the band he quietly said "Norman".  But between the encore the bass player sings a song and says "you guys see any good football games today?" It drew mostly boo's and I held middle finger up the whole song.  Fuck that guy. ou still sucks.

RC is the shit.  We drank beer with them before a show in Des Moines years ago.  The guitar player (Ryan Engleman) and fiddle player (Kyle Nix) were awesome too.  Felker seemed distracted (he was trying to find something they didn't sell at the bar), and the drummer wasn't there.  Back when they were a 5 piece.  It was right about the time they were branching out of Texoma, and they were just floored that people in a bar 7 hours from home knew who they were.

But I suppose you were still a little salty on Saturday night.
