    USMNT 2019

FCD academy is representing these days. McKennie looks to be a long term starter, Reggie Cannon at the very least a member of the team (thought he looked pretty good the other night) and Pomykal is going to another good one.
  2. Keita playing for Guinea today and has gone down twice. Not ideal, but appears to be from kicks (one to the shin) rather than any muscle issue.
  3. Reddy to ESPN and Pearce to _______. Not likely, but with TAW changing their strategy could it be there? I noticed he was on a few of the podcasts in Madrid.
  4. Yeah, that was a bit odd. Noticed they would highlight them but never really showed it being important and then no one finished it yet either.
  5. Luke Jake, is there really a difference? (oops)

    USMNT 2019

    1. I am, but no several who pay a reduced amount and am aware of several who pay nothing. (again, not out of line with the top AAU programs, and my kid's team is not an elite level team) 2. Games go from Aug-Dec, Jan -Apr, tournaments the other months w/futsal in the summer (indoor in Dec/Jan). Traninig 2X/week, plus keeper training 1x/week, total 3/week for the entire year outside holiday weeks/weather issues, but I'd say at least 2x/week for 48 weeks of the year. 3. 45 minute halves, unlimited subs, but my kid is a keeper.

And in my experience, as a dad of a 12 year old in the system (not DA good) I can see some incredible improvements. One of my friends runs one of the better known AAU programs and I am pretty certain there is not a lot of difference between availability for high level players in soccer or basketball.
  8. The Jake sideshow was a little interesting but now that’s done and I have hardly any clue who anyone else is. I’m not trying to be a prude, but not sure I’ve seen anyone attack three guys(or girls for that matter) in the course of that short a time even on bip. She jumped on and straddled one dude, got busy on a pool table and then threw another onto the bed. Always seems a little weird when they make out with multiple people in a night but she just next-leveled it. Want to thank whoever asked why her nose is red. I can’t unsee that. She truly seems to be a not smart person.
  9. Spurs/manu back to back both times might be tricky. Right with some other matches could cause fret. Hope it’s a CL home game in October. The manu game in October is during parents weekend for my kid’s college. Betting that’s going to be hard to catch. Anyone know of a supporter’s bar in Northfield MN? Maybe Minneapolis lol?

You probably know, but the standing sections have seats you can fold down. Probably not comfortable for long periods, but I could see the use.
  11. There are several reasons, but here's the biggest IMO. de Ligt might be a great player, but at the rumored wages he'd be double everyone but Mo. It's not like we're talking a straight up trade Joe for de Ligt. There are many facets to it. I'd argue that spending much money where we have VVD/Joe/Matip/Lovren vs. other positions is not wise. Money better spent elsewhere.
  12. It’s unlucky. fwiw, VVD missed 95, 4, and 136 days when he was ~23-25.
  13. Saw somewhere he wants £250/week which would put his as the highest paid player on the team. I know the transfer/wage market is nuts, but seems like a bad risk imo.
  14. A week ago, I was a nervous wreck for another ~90 minutes.
  15. At least it's clear the Southampton management team has done a great job reinvesting all the money received in the past ~5 years totalling ~£162m. Adam Lallana - Signed 2014 (£25m) Dejan Lovren - Signed 2014 (£20m) Nathaniel Clyne - Signed 2015 (£12m) Sadio Mane - Signed 2016 (£30m) Virgil van Dijk - Signed 2017 (£75m) https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/173m-spent-southampton-signings-given-14269022
  16. On top of that skill (which was second to very very few) he seems like a generally good guy. I think we've had many of those, but his personality shines through in all the things he did off the field.
  17. Forgive the sappy moment for a second. I will ALWAYS remember his goal, and where I was. It's one of a thousand goals I've watched with my kid and it just sticks out. He had a couple games that day and he wanted some grilled chicken something in between games so we found a Cheddar's that fit the logistical constraints. I had watched most the first haf at his game and he was streaming it in the car. We get to the table and were a getting a little nervous/depressed whatever. We had the sound down, but my phone propped up on the salt/pepper deal and were getting to the point we figured we'd see our first loss, and then THAT happened. It just seemed magical at the moment and it was just a really cool sports/fandom moment that you can't prepare for it just happens. For all he did in 13/14 and mostly providing that moment, I will always remember Studge fondly.
  18. Next one starts tomorrow? Too lazy to see who started this one, but I vote them.
