  1. I thought I read (maybe in this thread) that it was a 1-game suspension, and if it happens again, it would be a 3-game suspension. I remember Tech being without one of their pitchers for our series because of that.
  2. I have 4 tickets + a parking pass for tonight's game I can't use. PM me if you want them, I can transfer electronically with an email/phone number.
  3. If it was a reasonable take the jury, who heard nearly two weeks of evidence and deliberated for 2 days would have acquitted him. They didn’t. It’s not like there isn’t recent examples of juries doing just that (hello Rittenhouse). So no, this isn’t a reasonable take.
  4. It's worth it for us, but we have a slightly less expensive rate, but we have 3 kids and 2 dogs and our kids are young. Maybe when they get older and the mess slows down we can drop down to 1x a week or every other week. We have housekeeper creep. When it was just me and the wife, it was every other week. When COVID hit and we were home all the time, after not having them for a bit we went to every week. Then when baby #3 came along, once she became more mobile/messier, it became 2x a week. I wish they came more often, TBH, but that's not feasible. The cost per trip has come down, but the frequency is higher. My wife is from the Valley where even "lower middle class" folks had live in help, and I have to remind her that if we had a live in in Austin it would be a gotdamn fortune.
  5. Didn't read the whole thread; but the $450 number must be for a "deep clean" - we have 2x week housekeeping on a 3K square foot house in Austin that doesn't cost us $1,000 a month.
  6. I watched the behind the scenes thing they do after the episode, and the director said they did both a continuous take, and shot scenes individually. They sort of gave credit to Kieran Culkin and the Director for the idea. But the director did say that more of the continuous take made it into the episode. Also read an interview linked by Alan Sepinwall with the actress who plays Shiv. She said that even when the stuff in the episode was in a different room (for example, Kendall going outside for a call), they left one camera in the room with Roman/Shiv on the phone with Tom, and they had to ad lib things that weren't in the script. She said she didn't know how much, if any of that ad libbing made it into the episode, but that is a whole different level of staying in character/living the emotions that you're acting. Also Kieran Culkin said something about the toll it took on him and the other actors to film this episode. Having to spend 2 weeks or however long in that emotional headspace, and then go home and try to remember he didn't actually suffer an emotional catastrophe even though his body felt like he had. Made me think of Heath Ledger, and how he died after playing the Joker. Hadn't really thought of it like that until then, because obviously Heath isn't around to have an interview like that.
  7. Hole. E. Shit. Did anyone else notice the pronounced lack of music during the main part of the episode? From when the phone call started until the plane landed I don’t think there was any music at all. Just let the actors do their thing.
  8. I’m no law prof, and I earned a C in crim law, but even I know that what Abbott called “jury nullification” isn’t how jury nullification actually works.
  9. I actually prefer the regular over the pintos+chorizo.
  10. The Cadets have a strict curfew.
  11. $100MM to each kid. Not sure what their ownership stake is, but some articles I've read have pegged it at 2.5%. They said in episode one they would each be getting about $2 Billion each. And that would mean the sales price would be around $80 Billion. So that would mean the sales price would have to go up by 5% or so (~$4 Billion more) for them to each net another $100MM.
  12. Which Roy? They’re all over this show.
  13. Am I the only one that actually watches on Sundays here? All the posts positing that it would be Logan who kills the deal, and it’s actually Shiv because she’s pissed about divorce attorneys. What a turn.
  14. Well, let’s add 16 more to this streak then why don’t we?
  15. When was the last time Texas had a 15 game winning streak? I know that we have 30+ game winning streaks in the 70s and 80s, but I can’t remember a winning streak this long in a while. We had a long one back in 2010 - it was like 20 or 21 games. Have we had one like that since that I’ve forgotten?
  16. The actress is/was pregnant (and was pregnant during filming).
  17. Good, but I also liked playing with a chip on our shoulder. Hope that keeps up.
  18. My wife caught this - in public (like when Tom was at the bar/on the phone with Shiv) he wasn't wearing his wedding ring. At home, he was. Shows he's putting on a facade of honoring the "trial separation" in public, but in private he hasn't given up on the marriage. Also, he called Shiv under the pretense of "honoring their agreement" to tell each other if they are seeing anyone, but in reality it was to tip off Shiv about the Pierce play. So he cares about her enough to give her the ability to make her own move (knowing how she feels about the election/democracy being under attack). He still wants to be with her. Remains to be seen if she ever comes around to wanting to be with him.
