That's about 15-20 minutes from me. I vaguely rememebr seeing it at some point but have yet to try it. Their hours kind of suck (only open 11-5 F-Su). Might try it on Sunday.
the difference is that in King's day, newspapers and TV stations nationwide covered the events and showed the cruelty. Today 75% of the media would either outright ignore the event or blame the victims.
Something similar to Selma could happen today and most would shrug and go about their day.
Conan can be kind of a grind though too. He interrupts a lot and doesn't just let his guests tell a story. I like him but some of his interviews are a pain.
I'm still trying to wrap my head around the Bari Weiss appointment to head CBS news. I'm watching other media pundits talk about how left wing CBS is. How the fuck can they do that with any kind of a conscience when 40% of this country gets straight up propanda from Fox? It's just mind bottling how the press in this country fucking sucks.
Behind the Bastards does some really good stuff. Evans covers some of the obvious baddies but also does episodes on some real pieces of work. I haven't listened to the Lee Atwater one but it's next on my list. The ones on James Grigson are infuriating. He was the "expert" witness who testified in Texas death penalty cases and probably got some innocent people killed.
Watched Wind River again today. Man, such a great but heart wrenching movie. I forgot how well cast this was; Renner is fantastic and Olson does a good job, in a limited amount of time, of making her character really stand out. Graham Green is excellent as well whenever he's on screen. The scene at the end with Cory and Martin is so good. It would have been easy to end the movie in the hospital room but having Cory visit Martin really makes it all hit hard especially when Cory sees the picture of the two girls together.
At UCLA or the University of Washington? Nope. At Hillsdale or Libery? Martial law would be in effect nationwide before the end of the day and Trump would declare himself Grand Poobah.
