  1. All very important points to consider. The bolded part especially hits home for me, I've heard similar (and darker) sentiments from my cousin and his family. Is it known whether they were willing collaborators or coerced? I haven't seen anything in the articles I've read that would firmly indicate either.
  2. You're wrong, idiot, they were given a military by God.
  3. Also, my disinterest in responding is mostly from fatigue. I have made all my earnest and measured arguments, repeatedly, well before you decided to grace us with your presence once again on this message board retire the Porterhouse username and go back to this one. I have little desire to repeat myself ad infinitum and simply desire to mock unserious individuals such as yourself.
  4. If it was a joke I genuinely apologize. It sure didn't seem like one in the context of the discussion at the time.
  5. They're not in control of the West Bank. And yet Palestinians are regularly killed/displaced and have their homes stolen by settler militias backed and supported by the IDF. I've said all along that if you want to imagine a Gaza without Hamas in charge, just look to what's happening in the West Bank. What's the excuse over there? Oh, and by the way, this is what I was referring to earlier in case you're still confused about why people think you are out of your fucking mind when discussing this topic:
  6. This word is your clue.
  7. Not gonna lie I didn't read your post and I'm probably not gonna
  8. Lmao just no sense of irony or awareness
  9. I need stark realism in my space opera about space wizards
  10. @Bevo Nevermind the fact that I have openly talked about, multiple times in the months prior to Oct. 7, at least in the CR thread, that I have a fairly sizable chunk of extended family that reside both in Israel and Gaza (mostly Israel). And yes, I have visited, albeit it's been close to 30 years since the last trip and I can't imagine I'll be going back any time soon. Not that it fucking matters if I've been there or not. Sick attempt at gatekeeping though, real cute. I really don't understand why so many of you take criticism of Israel's leadership as an attack on its people, its right to exist, an attack on Jews, etc etc. Their leadership is pretty much entirely unquestionable from an American Zionist perspective, while their approval rating in Israel itself is abysmal. It would be hilarious if it wasn't directly causing a lot of death and suffering.
  11. Lol. You openly expressed an absolutist position in the most idiotic "Jews are a monolith" matter imaginable, and then start blubbering like a 10 year old with a skinned knee after receiving the smallest amount of pushback, and I'M the one with the lack of objectivity. Remarkable.
  12. Yeah I'll take a pass from being lectured by someone that posts with such incredible wisdom and nuance like this:
  13. I'm not comparing them, it's just the same kind of discussion.
  14. Let's delve into your imagination. The basis for the opinions you hold on this topic include but are not limited to: Criticism of Israel's actions and government are antisemitic Palestinians only care about killing Jews The vast majority of those that support Palestinian liberation are Hamas supporters Everyone that supports Palestinian liberation is a pedophile Can't decide whether this conflict is 5,000 years old, or that Hamas "started it" on Oct. 7 Unironically and without a single shred of awareness believe things like the following: “A purposeful policy designed to remove by violent and terror-inspiring means the civilian population of another ethnic or religious group (Jews) from certain geographic areas (Israel).” - Nevermind the fact that this is literally happening every single day in the West Bank, to Palestinians, by Israeli backed settler militias. These are all things you have said in this thread. So tell me, with all of that coupled with the fact that you bristle up like a cornered wild hog every time someone criticizes Israel's leadership, despite the fact that far more Israelis have protested and spoken out against Netanyahu's government and its actions (prior to AND post Oct. 7) than the American college students you despise so much, why should any fucking person alive take you seriously? You have flailed around so much in this thread and others and you always resort to calling anyone that opposes your viewpoints terrorist sympathizers or pedophiles, it's no wonder you keep getting timed out for being a fucking moron.
  15. It's depressing how many times I've posted this article and gotten crickets in response.
  16. This discussion of a hypothetic Palestinian economy is hilarious, kinda like the arguments you might have with a guy that just can't figure out why Cuba is still so poor.
  17. The best part about this thread is being reminded that slorch is gone
  18. In the cases of women within 100 feet of Chrispy, a justified one.
  19. Are you saying Western values are inherently anti-genocide because uh
  20. It's moments like this that remind us that some leftists are as dumb or dumber than the most brain-drained right-wingers. So stupid.
  21. It was quite obvious, don't you worry, little guy. I would posit that the majority wouldn't accept it, but the majority also seem to want Bibi/Likud out of office and that doesn't seem to make any difference at all. A significant number of Israelis have been demanding that new elections be held when the Gaza conflict winds down, and they (Bibi's gov't) are fiercely opposing this. They've already done things such as pass a law making the PM more difficult to remove. Luckily, the Israeli supreme court struck that down (rather, delayed it until after the next elections in 2026). But it's not a great omen for the future of democracy in Israel. Also, as someone else said earlier, the most extreme elements of Likud have significant support. It's not like they represent a small percentage of the Israeli populace. The bottom line for Bibi is he likely needs to stay in the PM seat to stay out of prison, so it's doubtful he gives up power without a struggle. I don't think he can or would try to postpone the 2026 elections, but it's not out of the realm of possibility.
  22. Ethnic cleansing. Which you just openly supported and then lied about. Weirdly enough, lying about your own words doesn't really work when your words are still on this page.
  23. I'm sorry Rex, you were lying?
