  2. There were other reasons to cancel but I had a friend go through there yesterday and said it was a nightmare. I moved it to two weeks from now. It's not that big of a deal I just don't wanna deal with it.
  3. I cancelled a planned trip to LA. Ain't no way I'm going into LAX right now I'd rather KMS
  4. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kent_State_shootings Come on, dude.
  5. Even today, NASA is still the gold standard because of its R&D prowess. Mainly because of entities like JPL (which is unquestionably unmatched worldwide) that has managed to remain in the public sector, free of the meddling of capital interests, and remain managed/administered by one of the top academic scientific research institutes in the world. I think people often forget that these private space agencies all borrow heavily from and heavily collaborate with NASA R&D (not just SpaceX) and are not shitting out these technologies and vehicles on their own. Not saying this is a good thing, private space agencies should all fuck off, shrivel up and die. The only good way to research, develop, manufacture, assemble, and utilize space vehicles is when the project is managed by public sector engineers. Period. Anyone who argues against that is a complete fucking moron with no understanding that history has already well vindicated this position.

  7. The reusable, landable boosters were built on top of original NASA designs that were never built because they were deemed too costly at the time. NASA put people on the moon, multiple times, almost 60 years ago. NASA has successfully landed and operated like a dozen different rovers or other vehicles on fucking Mars, starting in the 1970s. NASA operated a fully reusable and highly successful (aside from a pair of spectacular and deadly failures) space plane for 30 years, starting in the early 1980s. There is a much longer list than this I'm not going to bother going into, I think you get the point. SpaceX has nothing, and I mean NOTHING on NASA. This is why it is such a complete fucking travesty that it has basically been allowed to absorb a great deal of NASA, aside from special operations like JPL.
  8. The idea that nationalizing SpaceX is some kind of crazy notion is so funny to me. Like, why do you think he basically immediately walked back the Dragon capsule threat? He knows how the game is played. If he actually seriously tried to follow through with that threat, not only would they instantly invoke the Defense Production Act to nationalize SpaceX and fold it in under NASA, they would also make good on the threat to revoke all of his contracts and subsidies and he would never receive a dime of taxpayer money ever again. Don't kid yourself, Elon may be extremely powerful but he is not as powerful as the US government and it would launch even him into the sun if he dared to seriously threaten US natsec interests.
  9. It would have been much wiser to never allow SpaceX and NASA to become as [somewhat irreversibly] intertwined as they have, where critical aspects of American spaceflight are directly under control of an unhinged drug addict, not to even begin to touch on what an incredibly massive national security problem Starlink is. Alas, here we are.
  10. If anyone that posts here ever earnestly calls me smart I'm hurling myself off the nearest bridge
  11. It's funny because he's accidentally arriving at the correct conclusion by approaching it from the point of view of wanting to suck Trump's dick from the back. SpaceX absolutely should be forcibly (should have been long ago, if we're being honest) nationalized considering it's already largely funded by the US government, regularly (and spectacularly) flaunts its regulations and laws, and considering the political activity of its owner.
  12. Shut up you weird slut
  13. This is a big part of the reason I exclusively play tournaments nowadays. (Unless it's somebody's home cash game that isn't taking a rake, of course)
  14. I honestly am shocked it took this long for them to start fighting
  15. I don't think Rex wants due process to be skipped, he just wants them deported. I think maybe he doesn't understand that ChickenSandwich actually does want due process to be skipped.
  16. Friendly reminder that the Due Process Clause applies to every person within the United States, including non-citizens, whether their presence here is lawful, unlawful, temporary, or permanent. Anyone that continues to push the narrative that these people are not entitled to due process because they are not citizens is lying to you.
  17. That's how our justice system works. Someone has to be punished. It's stupid, but that's how it works.
  18. Instead they just say shit that isn't even true and blame progressives
  19. Yeah, no fucking shit. They didn't commit any crimes and due process must be followed. As I said earlier, if you want to make the argument that their asylum claim is invalid, that's fine, due process still must be followed. If you want to expedite the process, fine, due process still must be followed. I don't understand why so many of you have just suddenly decided that due process doesn't matter at all, considering that every American's rights depend on the government not being able to just do whatever the fuck out wants, the law of the land be damned.
  20. Read my post again
  21. Dems have apparently decided that the way to beat the propaganda is to outflank it by running to the right of it. e: Not on everything, of course, but certainly on things like foreign policy i.e. Iran
