  1. No, I’m saying it’s a chickenshit way to handle things with people you know and interact with, and doubly so when you consider the possible implications for the man’s career over a fishing shirt. Not a even a shirt with something incendiary on it.
  2. Having some experience with three letter identifiers it’s usually common practice to drop the first letter with the understanding that the last three have the truly relevant information. I know WBAP is a Dallas stationer. I know KDFW is a Texas airport. But no one uses the first letter. Which is why I thought of a radio station.
  3. No, no. Something perfectly legitimate that Gundy had a problem with. Say wearing a shirt supporting a party of platform that Gundy disagrees with. He’d be leveled in short order. Yes. I’ve been on a sports team. I didn’t stalk other people, keep in mind that Gundy didn’t publish the photo, and then try to shame them publicly for wearing a pretty benign tee shirt in public. This whole attitude that you must immediately and publicly destroy anyone you disagree with over even the pettiest thing is out of hand.
  4. You're greatly overestimating how many people use twitter or spend their days hanging on every word of the president. May first instinct was a radio station when I saw the letters.
  5. Oh Hubbard has a right to express his opinion. But trying to publicly shame someone for wearing a shirt you disagree with politically while they were fishing in their free time? Reverse the circumstances. Imagine Gundy taking to twitter to highlight something he disagreed with about one of his players. He’d be crucified. Do you go hunting down people on your social media over tee shirts? Would you want someone coming after you over something as simple as that? WTFO?
  6. So nothing anyone cares to air in public then other than one player being threatened justly or unjustly to be sent home? Ok.
  7. You’re gonna have to forgive if I haven’t been reading twitter all day to see what some Okie St players thought of their time there. What were their specific grievances?
  8. Or players can respect a that a coach can have political beliefs and stances different than their own, and the only thing that matters is whether that coach treats them with dignity and respect otherwise. It’s asinine that anyone has to completely support the political bent of college kids or be publicly excoriated for it.
  9. That’s BS imoho. I think thou protesteth too much of his great sin is wearing a shirt with the logo of a conservative tilted news network most have never heard of to go fishing on his free time. That’s out of hand.
  10. I’m pretty sure they’re not tracking them down and publicly calling them out every time they do something the coach disagrees with or is stupid. Which is a lot for 18-21 year old kids. Btw, they’re getting paid.
  11. Or, people can get a life and respect his personal free time.
  12. That’s BS. And having interacted with several very well known and successful coaches in their off time I can tell you that your idea isn’t remotely adhered to.
  13. He wasn’t bragging on anything. The fishing service posted his picture and didn’t tag or identify him. They pulled the picture after the mayhem started. Even money the fishing service didn’t know what the shirt was about. I thought it was a radio station when I first saw the news break.
  14. He wore it to go fishing. I dunno about you, but I usually wear something I don’t mind getting dirty when I decide to toss a line. It would probably be perhaps a step above something I do yard work in. Maybe.
  15. The Free State of Stoned.
  16. I’ve always been fascinated by the cycle of retreads in aviation.
  17. Well, exactly 0 people saw a pandemic leading to worldwide economic shutdown as a credible scenario. Btw, I checked and if you were scheduled to come in to get landing currency before the exemption was given then you will still come in and do them even though the FAA has extended grace to August 31.
  18. What’s the point of an empty middle seat when someone is sitting directly in front of and behind you?
  19. Who knows what Parker is doing? Crisis/BK operations are his wheelhouse so maybe he and his know what they are doing. Perhaps the buyouts are just shrinking the size of the bucket now as most of the debt service requirements are a few years off. Spoke to some Spirit guys and they’re looking at 50-60% ops in July. The Mouse, cruises and so on coming back online plus pent up demand will probably ignite the leisure market for awhile.
  20. For reference I had a partial flap landing (no slats) with a full boat at a high elevation airport and our Vapp was 163. You cant extend flaps beyond the second notch until 185 knots, but the gear can be lowered at 250 knots. The wheels won’t come down above 260 regardless of handle position.
  21. You have the benefit of single sleet ops with limited international exposure and feed, and your customer base isn’t hunting for executive travel perks and lounges. The LCC’s/ULCC’s will be the canary in the coal mine imoho. Business/international travel will be last to come back, but rapidly once it does as people are starting to come to terms with the real world lethality and transmission contingencies of Covid. That cargo MOU won’t hurt either. Hopefully the furloughs at the big 3 will be short lived. Interestingly, AA may have the least by shear dent of retirement numbers even though they are singularly the worst off financially.
  22. Jobs etc are there and some town have their charms at different times of the year. My point about the wealthy is that those with the wherewithal get out as quickly and as often as they can. Most often to West Palm or Naples.
  23. I’ve spent more than a fair share of time at the Gill FBO.
