  1. I listened to a classmate of mine at UT, and she told to check out LonghornFanZone. I did. Now here I am years later.
  2. This is the key part about how much popular journalism has been replaced by short-attention-span media. There is no follow-up about the campaign promises of lowering inflation, prices, and booming the supposed horrible Biden economy that saw a 25% increase in value over the course of a single year for the S&P500. Instead they just react to the latest bullshit and let them reframe, rather than publish stories without their lies and distractions. Note how they didn't ever mention the outfits of Elon/KidRock/Bukkake. I guess that type of media is largely dead.
  3. The after-the-fact economic prophecy.
  4. Dunning Kruger
  5. buy merikan noodles commie!
  6. This is what you got after an edit?
  7. In other words, nobody knows what the fuck is going on in the White House. Excluding grift, theft, bullshit, lies, and corruption.
  8. ^Fuck that douche
  9. This is the shortest TwiceHorn post I have ever seen.
  10. Benefit of the doubt? Why? She is linked to this administration and Trump personally. They allowed him to play tough guy and gave him a free platform for approval. They are bad people.
  11. Slava Ukraine.
  12. It never really made sense. The companies or the wealthy don’t invest or hire people just because. They do so for profit.
  13. Wasn't aware of that. Last I saw on him, he was talking about clean water issues and his foundation's support for a treatment facility.
  14. Is it sternly worded?
  15. More proof that the wealthier and more successful you are, the dumber and more arrogant you become. There are exceptions like Gates/Buffet, but many of these guys are kind of stupid. (Sure I recognize the complexity of the word stupid, if I wanted to talk credit default swaps, Dimon/Ackman would probably be excellent resources, but their ability to step out of their lane and well beyond their sphere of knowledge is rather arrogant/dumb).
  16. It really depends. If we have an elder statesman like Biden, it can be fixed. If we get anything else, it will be a tough slog.
  17. Just like last time. All the tariffs did was redistribute wealth from urban people to farmers.
  18. So originalists right? Oh, just not about that either.
  19. @UTEE97 I think this is a very complicated issue and not something as simple as crafting a message. Harris had a message and Muslim-Americans didn't give a fuck about it. Trump had a message, and Muslim-Americans didn't give a fuck about it either, they voted against their interests and behaved irrationally. The message doesn't matter if someone isn't willing to listen. We didn't lose Musk. Musk was always who he was. He, just like Trump, tried to win over crowds by repeating what they wanted to hear. But in both cases, their actions and behaviors drove them to find acceptance in the right, as they spewed hate and found more kindred spirits there. Musk wasn't stupid, but he wasn't even remotely the genius that branding attributed to him. You could see it in Tesla if you paid attention to the signs, and you could see it on full display since he took over Twitter, embraced drugs more and more and craved more attention. His duplicitous nature was revealed to all very quickly as was his unmet need for acceptance and genuine friendship. Let's get real, one doesn't switch from Biden to Trump and think this is in the best interest of the country. Ackman as of Dec 2024 making claims about the "deep state" and thought Biden shouldn't be able to do his job after the election took place, a throwback to the bullshit Cocaine Mitch pulled. What is even more impressive is the hubris of this unelected billionaire thinking he could tell the President how to do his fucking job and what was within his control. I cede nothing to the oligarchs. Ackman was likely promised he would have a hand in reshaping America along with other billionaires. And they have. They have flushed the goodwill and kept the turd. Once again, the idea that the left can simply craft a message and get people to follow is simply not realistic. As measles cases rise, we have a carefully crafted message, backed by unassailable science and research for an effective control and containment. And yet people avoid it, to their own detriment and to the detriment of others.
  20. Part of the problem here is that you are so convinced that you are correct that you leave no room for dissent without feeling attacked. Your posts are very offensive/defensive minded. But let me address a few other things: I think you have fallen into the trap of what Tahoe and Anastasis and others of their ilk would lay out. "You forced me to vote for the worst person, because....." and then they would rattle off something to try to appear reasoned while ignoring the real truth, they were never going to vote non-R because that is their identity. You place more faith and belief in swing-voters than I do. I tend to believe whoever gets on TV and has the most fear-based commercials is going to win, content or facts need not apply. This is why we see so many people in shock about losing their status, their security, their assets because they never were interested in looking at the whole candidate and instead just latched on to what they thought was cool/trendy and what their favorite influencers/podcasters claimed. I tend to think the swing-voters are just trying to get attention. For example, we have communities like Muslim-Americans who voted for Trump because they thought he would be their guy. They convinced themselves he would be their guy. All evidence was to the contrary, but still they voted for him. The message was out there, but they lied to themselves. They protest voted against the Democratic Party demanding that they needed to be heard. And they stuck their stupid right into the lion's jaws. No amount of facts were going to get through to irrational people who voted irrationally because they convinced themselves of the 'signs' were there that he would do their bidding. If you want to say the left has a problem with messaging, it does. It is an inherent flaw with reasoned, qualified, logical positions. They don't fit on a bumper sticker and they don't rhyme. It is why former Republican strategist Michael Steele even repeated "facts have a liberal bias." The other problem is when you have ethical standards you tend to live by them. You don't create TV ads with some lying scumbag in a military hat telling people that public schools are performing sex-change operations on children without consent. Lying about school vouchers scams as freedom. All funded by the people who want their hands on the government's cash earmarked for education.
  21. I am just going to remark on the 3 points I singled out. The Democratic Party has moved too far to the center (right) in reality and they have ceded too much of the rules to the wackos and have not exploited systems to retain or usurp power because they, unlike the republicans, actually believe in this country and working within the system to enact change. They understand that our government is not supposed to be efficient but take time to thoughtfully consider actions, discover the pros and cons of actions, and then vote on making decisions. This stable predictable system allows us to be boring and bureaucratic, but also mindful and considerate. Our republican members are the ones undermining this with knee-jerk reactions. We have a real issue with propaganda and mis/disinformation within the United States. This was started and exploited by the republicans and you can see hallmarks of it everywhere you bother to look. You can see how foreign hostile actors have infiltrated the republicans and their supporters to further corrupt and drive a wedge. Every fucking election of my life, the DNC's candidates were the most liberal ever from what I heard from right-wing propagandists. They even manipulated their stupid fucking audience so much they no longer understood what words meant, words like communism, fascism, socialism, liberal democracy, they know nothing. All they can think is reflexively like a lizard, liberal = bad, and that is the sum total of republicanism. When Obama announced the killing of bin Laden, I saw how it really irked republicans. We all saw it. Because we knew you were about party over country. Now you are about Trump over party over country. Biden was charismatic. Harris was less so. Trump is very charismatic but also a buffoon. Had he been born poor, he would have been a used car salesman and not the likable Kurt Russell/Bill Paxton type. Again, you are not serious people. This isn't a fucking TV show where the ratings = success. Trump is great for ratings but look at the current state of the economy and uncertainty. Presidents should come on TV/Radio once in a while, report major incidents/results and largely stay in the background. Once politics becomes analogous to a team sport and ratings become important than we are all in for it as this feeds their ego, and that creates more attention seeking. It is time to grow the fuck up and vote for qualified serious people and not a bunch of dumbfucks that communicate with the latest memes or in a style that seems more appropriate of teenagers. If you cannot bring yourself to put in the time an energy to research candidates and their ideas then don't fucking vote. Let people do it who can. Or just vote straight democratic party. Because right now those are the only fucking adults in the room and have been for quite some time. They are the only ones with a track record of holding their own accountable for misdeeds. They are the only ones who are serious about governing to the best of their abilities and protecting the interests of all. They are the only candidates who prioritize freedoms and balance out social responsibility. They have the only candidates who are considering some pushback against the growing oligarchy.
  22. Better journalist would have followed up Lutnick with, "and what do you expect to pay them to turn those tiny screws?"
  23. He is down $3200 after a 6% drop in a single day. Which means he had about $53K in retirement investments. Apparently he thought eating the cats, eating the dogs was going to be his retirement menu.
  24. What I think is even scarier, is how easily they wanted to believe they were getting screwed over by foreigners who are operating in capitalistic markets without any evidence or scrutiny to such claims. They just ran for the pitchforks. This type of mass hysteria and manipulation has brought about so much death and destruction and thousands of years later we still don’t bother to try to educate it out of our population.
  25. They use fist bump emojis when talking about covert military strikes. These are not serious people, they are drunks, grifters, morons, basically imagine you emptied out a fraternity of the worst kinds of members and then created a new fraternity with those outcasts. That is the republican leadership.
