  1. We do to some degree. My middle school child had interest and compound interest taught in a math class with a finance context included.
  2. Is Jared back on the case?
  3. I really don't care. Do you?
  4. Fuck them. I am tired of supporting olds, widows and handicapped. Dan Patrick said they would die for our economy, let's test that.
  5. Ukraine better hurry up and ratchet it up a notch.
  6. Well, with the outcome of the election, special education (SPED) is on the chopping block for the nation, as the incoming Trump administration has vowed to end the department of education. According to Forbes, the IDEA funding (approximately $15 billion) will be sent to the states for the states to determine how to spend it. Which means, parents and people who live in a state like Texas, will now have to lobby and beg our state leadership to fund our districts. Considering how the current leadership has punished the cities based on voting, by sending money to their base (through measures like disaster relief or RobinHood) there is little to be optimistic about. For some recent history, due to a legal ruling, Texas special education lost $300 million in federal support (from Medicaid) for the 2023 year, which created a $5 million budget shortfall for HISD. Unfortunately, SPED funding is murky, so the idea of an overhaul or living up to the promises (up to 40% of the costs supported by the Fed) was always welcomed, however there was little to no political push to help clear this up, because we do not elect serious people to handle serious problems. So putting this all together. SPED programs are likely to become another political football without the federal guardrails to keep bad actors from punishing people. This impacts some of our most vulnerable population and those who live with them. SPED services include supporting people who need a little help with speech, dyslexia, OT for motor skills and emotional regulation, autism support, and diaper changes for children who have severe motor or intellectual disabilities.
  7. Wait until he tests sued for dispensing pharmaceuticals when the lack of oversight causes his clients to get sick. That half-step above won’t save him.
  8. The problem is that stupid sells. Stupid doesn't stop to think. Stupid doesn't think beyond the short term. Stupid doesn't want any answer longer than 3 seconds. Stupid doesn't do research. Stupid doesn't bother with facts. Stupid is mean. Stupid is cruel. Stupid will ask to be in front of the firing squad. Stupid has found their social voice and their leader. Stupid is enthralled. Stupid don't vote for no qualified woman over a business failure, convict, and merch peddling moron.
  9. Why should he? Why stand on a silent platform?
  10. Mack Brown brought this up nearly 25 years ago. This isn't something new.
  11. Not really. They fucked us over that game. The best way to negate a good defensive line is to allow holding. Before that game they were getting called for holding, and quite a few penalties, and suddenly during that game, they magically cleaned up their act, and we got called for ticky-tacky shit and our penalties went up. Those same fucks were responsible for the 2015 OSU game, and they had a history of penalizing Texas more than others from what I recall. I also seem to recall that offensive line of theirs getting dominated in their bowl game when they were not allowed to hold because they simply couldn't function without it.
  12. They sure as shit didn't protect us during the 2008 Texas Tech game where we were on the track to face the Gators in the MNC. Instead, they put OU into that game only for them to lose because it was funny to them. OU and Tech would have still had good bowl games and the conference would have likely had another title winner.
  13. So adjust the strike zone in the 9th inning? Also you are disregarding the blatant hold by the BYU offensive lineman also on that play.
  14. Funny how Texas and Florida were left out. But the Vandy Pimp from the game/fans was pretty nice.
  15. I'll never understand the homo-eroticism that some of you get from football.
  16. We pretty much predicted that was going to happen with the change in conferences. No longer can coaches salvage their season with a single win by maintaining a singular focus on one game. Heck, it is starting to look like Georgia might have been over-preparing for Texas and failed to put in enough work for other teams and address their fundamental flaws.
  17. Fuck em. They wanted the fuckery and benefitted from the fuckery for decades. The new teams should have done a better job when negotiating leaving the PAC for this. They were all fools. Remember when their commissioner and deputy commissioner were openly rooting against one school in particular? Remember how the number of penalties and types of penalties changed for the two teams exiting after it was announced? They all sat back and laughed it up thinking the face-eating leopards were not going to come for them.
  18. You see, if we beat them early in the season they were just putting it together and not the same team they were later in the season. However, if we beat them later in the season they were depleted from the sec grind. Heads I win, tails you lose, but for aggy.
  19. Losing by 15 is a beat down, embarrassing, and getting rolled. Losing by 24, is just a setback. Never change aggy.
  20. Looks like the aggy seasonal rollercoaster
  21. I don't really know much about Tennessee's bag game but IIRC Clemson was buying players, but they fell off before NIL was allowed.
  22. This still might want to be evaluated a bit further. Cause I see a Ute being pulled by his jersey.
  23. I think sec officiating felt like hazing to keep us out of the top spot in year one. They were working the UGA/Vandy games a bit there.
  24. Clemson and Tennessee were dead until they weren’t. Good recruiting and coaching can turn things around. OUsux will be survive, but I hope they get to life support status for the next 50 years.
