  1. @Brisketexan I smell an opportunity here! In Trump we God? In Gold We Trump? Time to lift your end of the couch.
  2. Ha! Sorry, I wasn't implying you directly with the Ted Cruz comment but I do think that perception exists within some segments of our community and our government. We love to build up our adversaries, which I supposed helps us not underestimate them, but we often go too far. China has its own cultural issues with their little emperors and with the emphasis on single male heirs, losing men in a useless conflict is going to have huge social implications and force China into another crisis given their limited welfare program (according to Wiki). While they do indeed study and copy equipment from others, their initial use will likely be fairly underwhelming as they are not experienced in putting it into action. Just like how Ukraine ran out the first gen Bradleys out into minefields and while they were successful in keeping the crews alive, they had to adapt to the tactics the equipment was designed for. China supposedly has issues with carrier launches/landings and while they will eventually figure it out, those things should not be taken for granted. Sure they copied our hovercraft, but can they actually protect it and deploy it? How can they defend assets around the world with such a limited range on their Navy? Sure they can eventually overwhelm Taiwan, but the cost to China is going to be high and their ability to continue to project power out towards Japan and India will be compromised. Plus. there is another major issue at stake. China's economy is heavily tied to the U.S. as a trading partner. Other nations would gladly jump at the opportunity to make rubber dogshit for us. It would cause us both pain, but a manufacturing center which loses its customers is going to have a much harder time surviving than a customer who loses its manufacturer but also retains the knowledge to set up shop elsewhere. But that is just like my uninformed opinion man. I could (and probably am) be wrong. (PS thanks for the fun talk/distraction) Now back to our regularly scheduled programming.
  3. It might be. But I think it is more reasonable. He is a career politician and this is a known strategy. Give credit for something to someone, let them bask in the glory of something they didn't do in order to try to get them to continue on that path. Only he is not dealing with a normal person, he is dealing with conman who has the attention span of a syphilitic squirrel.
  4. We vastly overstate the readiness and capabilities of the Chinese military or any foe really. I heard about how battle hardened the Iraqi's were when I was in High School from my history teacher. His comments later were about how he didn't know about the new equipment the military had but really he didn't understand the reliance upon conscripts by the Iraqi's vs. our volunteer military who were professionals and better equipped. Don't fall for the propaganda like Ted Cruz did when comparing a fake russian military video with ours where we celebrated the military as a diverse career building organization. China engaged in skirmishes with India where they were clubbing each other. India isn't exactly our ally, but they are definitely not China's.
  5. I was just thinking, wouldn't religion being injected into this invasion help?
  6. It Lindsey Graham, he is trying to play politics by thanking Trump for the aid package with the hope that he will take credit and continue on the path if he is elected again. Don't read too much more into it than that.
  7. Same wonderful man also said this: "the Government has to defend itself" and "to the enemies of the people it owes only death"
  8. So, while our fascist elements within our state and federal government are restricting women's access to health care, you are simultaneously suggesting we inform women they need to have more kids at a younger age, but not be whores and have them out of wedlock. And don't do the crime (sex) if they can't do the time (raising kids) because we want to associate child-rearing with punitive responsibilities. It never ceases to amaze me how much people want to dic(k)tate the lives of others.
  9. I have heard this too many times recently in the spring only to underwhelm in the season.
  10. Because they are low-conscientious cult members. They latched on to the Cult of Trump and they are along for the ride wherever it goes. If he told them to drink Trump's piss, they would. Admitting they were conned is worse than death/imprisonment.
  11. Not enough. We need to triple that.
  12. I know it might be fun to laugh at them but they need to stop giving these people air time and start calling into question their actions. Investigate their funding as well.
  13. This is getting Andrew Tateish.
  14. I believe San Antonio did this as well years back. Dallas went a different route, they wanted to create the Marvin-Nichols dam to offset their leaks.
  15. I mean from the otherside. A couple of times I had to have a chat with a kid and a parent, and gave the kid permission and some help on how to settle things.
  16. I’ll never understand why parents don’t get more involved.
  17. My first car was the 79 Sports Coupe with the wet turbo. Had 84 T-type and 85 GN and 2 87 GNs. I still miss them.
  18. Often times aquifers are located deeper and are not in contact with the surface where it is being tapped into and the zone of recharge may be hundreds to 1000s of miles away. Also the reason people like to tap into those waters is because they have been naturally filtered or filling those formations for quite some time (thousands of years). The water that seeps into the ground or near surface ground water can be fine in areas, but it may also be contaminated by human activities such as underground gas tank leakage. If I recall in parts of West Texas there were several feet of fuel floating on the water table due to leakage. Porosity (pore spaces) and permeability (a function of the connectivity of those pore spaces, cracks, and rock matrix and the rate at which fluid can move in the media ) are other controlling factors and while I am happy to chat about hydrology a bit and go in more depth if you are interested I suspect that many will not be. But in short, just trying to pump water back in the the subsurface will not re-inflate the land or restore the ground level to its previous height. There is really no economically feasible way of doing that once we start groundwater mining.
  19. It only matters if they are willing to do something. It will mostly be rhetoric and appeasement.
