  1. He isn't serious about winning.
  2. But the internal turmoil for Russia would take some of the heat off of Ukraine most likely during the transition as the vultures try to consolidate power and eliminate threats which could include the break-up of Russia into smaller states as well. Putin may be a shithead, but a dead russian leader sends a major message to the next in charge. It also gives them a face saving out, blame Putin, return territory/kids/etc. and trying to re-participate in the world economy again without China fleecing them. Of course the next person could totally have a peaceful transfer of power and just double down and send more people to the slaughter. But given that Wagner basically rolled to the outskirts of Moscow unmolested there are more than a few problems in Russia and I think the former is much more likely than the latter extreme.
  3. Update: I have just been informed that FBMS will now bundling their AP/Vanguard courses to their Honors program and there will be even more students in every class for the teachers. Yes, so the TEA's appointed guy, is putting more than the TEA guidelines of 22/kid per class and in fact, they are bloating the classrooms even more while cutting services.
  4. My guess is that car is equipped with a roll cage and probably has the seats and everything possible removed from the vehicle.
  5. I have a beautiful head of hair, even if greying and more grey than not in my beard. Sorry.
  6. Why shouldn't they? The state is not funding schools properly nor is it spending the money they have allocated to education. Why should residents vote to hand money over to someone who is cutting supports, services, has ZERO accountability and no trust from the community? Why should residents accept that in 8 days, we are supposed to start school, yet the websites of most HISD schools are not updated, people we have been reaching out to about the upcoming year to PREP a SPED kid are not responding at the school level or district level and we have no idea if they are still even employed. No schedules or information of any kind from FBMS. Heck the teaches from OFE (next fucking door to FBMS) have sent out welcome messages, one teacher even sent it from Columbia where he was on vacation more than a week ago. We also saw this fuckface take Texans money and hand it off to pay for his charter school admin in Colorado which of course he has a financial interest in. No trust, no bond.
  7. I specialized in the 1979-87 Turbo Buicks (Wet turbo, hot air and intercooled) and I left the field with more ideas on how to unlock performance, some of which were tried by others and others which seemed still to be overlooked. I went the early 70’s Skylark for rehab but that didn’t last long and i had to quit cold turkey and get rid of it too cause I was addicted to modifying. But back then, we would test parts at the track, not on a butt dyno or magazine. I recall several cars with 1000s of dollars in upgrades that were shit and the cars went slower than stock. Conventional wisdom broke down too from time to time.
  8. Good point. My mom did admin work at a nursing home. She didn’t much care for the nurses and orderlies and would comment on how often the elderly were missing jewelry and watches soon after arriving.
  9. Sorry to hear that. I heard from people who worked for a mental health care facility and they commented on the apathy of the workers and their borderline cruelty. Also in Texas about 25 years ago.
  10. Living at home is such a drag…..
  11. Was he standing next to South Austin’s mom when he posted that?
  12. Muscle cars and straight line performance is a specific type of enjoyment. If you want a car that can handle there are other classes of vehicles that can do that well. If you want a car that just spins tires and goes in a circle there are cars and upgrades for that. I still occasionally dream about my old muscle cars that I built. I never dream about the much better handling, driver friendly, but quick car I bought. Pony car, not a muscle car.
  13. Look, HISD had problems, but they were not at whatever Rock Bottom is. My kids attending Oak Forest Elm could have been better supported, but staff there were working within limits that were also coming from the state which limited support. Just because there were problems, bad actors, poor management, doesn’t mean the solution is to be reactive or to change everything, ignoring what was working and where, so one can install yet another system which has failed Miles in Colorado, Dallas, his charter schools, etc. Let me put it in a different context. If I wanted to make a new rifle to replace the M4 what would I do? Study the M4, find out what troops like and dislike, study the pros and cons with from battlefield results and economics and engineering? Or just toss everything aside and start from zero, possibly coming up with something better, but most likely coming up with something worse? After all, I only failed 3x before.
  14. It is easy to boost numbers for Starr when you run off families by killing the SPED programs. I believe this was part of the backstory to Pump Up the Volume! with Christian Slater.
  15. I wouldn’t start celebrating just yet.
  16. All Maduro need to do is order a cybertruck and talk about how much of a genius Musk is to win him over.
  17. She can be a bit cheap, so she would rather me spend the money than her because it stresses her out to waste money on something like beach chairs rentals or better coffee. It could be worse.
  18. Alito is also a bribe taker, IIRC.
  19. You are looking at it wrong, IMO. I tend to think these groups are just attractive to lonely people and it gives them a social community to identify with. We all do it, Christian, Texan, Buckeye, Green Party, Marine, Elk Club, whatever. Being part of a social group is necessary for humans. It is more important than facts. Look to those old Japanese soldiers who didn’t surrender until decades later, until they found a social member part of their community, to talk them down.
  20. The corporate ownership won’t change with term limits. Only good governance and a moment of clarity for American voters can unfuck this. So never.
  21. Sure they don’t value life and they do not value their own soldiers well being like we do, but they have some care.
  22. Funniest part of that is it is a madlibs statement and their followers just lap it up every time it repeats.
  23. Meh, guy looked to be already injured. Might as well let him be a burden to his own side.
