  1. No. He only has two grandsons, but I knew he wouldn't. It was near breakfast time, and I predicted that my mom/sister wouldn't answer the door, and he really doesn't like door-to-door solicitors. I figured the box of cookies would be a distraction for him and he would look at that while only thinking about how he could get rid of this and go back to whatever he was doing. In this case, he just sat down for breakfast.
  2. you see .........well..... you are not a master negotiator.
  3. THATS SOCIALISM! But sending them to Nivek so he could sell them back to people.....
  4. I surprised my family in Florida with a brief visit last year with my eldest child. To have more fun with them, I sent my kid to the door and he tried to sell them some Oreo cookies that he had. My father, predictably answered the door, didn't recognize him, and declined. My kid came back to me laughing. I sent him back there with another item, but my mother and sister who kept reviewing the image decided it was my boy and welcomed him in. A bunch of other family came in that weekend so they all got to individually enjoy the prank.
  5. I was told it would be handled in one day by the master negotiator. One day. On day one. But I guess since this is not day one....
  6. Fair, there was a push this year to move kids into IEPs in Texas at least.
  7. So is trump advocating Ukraine keep Kursk right? right?
  8. Thank you, so now what we really need is just the price per installation and the kWh ratings, and the % capacity which should include maintenance, so we can have a real comparison.
  9. So RFK Jr has used his extensive knowledge from years of heroin abuse to determine that he needs to oversee the medication children and others are getting.
  10. Well, with the states going against 504's, we can all count on special education getting further fucked over. My elderly parents told me how they support it, because it really should be a states issue. I think states should decide who gets social security and medicare not the Feds. Why should I have to pay for them olds? Let Desantis pay for them.
  11. So, whether I have nuke plant, coal plant, or wind turbine I am still selling it all for 2 cents per kWh right?
  12. So where are you getting this figure from that they are charging a fixed rate of 2 cents per kWh? How does this compare to an equivalent output for various other types of energy generation methods? What are their payback rates? What are the laws governing the rates being charged on a generation type (wind, nuke, coal, etc.)?
  13. I’ll believe it when I see it.
  14. How did that work out for the Kurds?
  15. But nobody could have told Europe we are their enemy now, only Vance.
  16. It only matters when they want to cut your benefits. Not the ones that enrich them.
  17. Well, maybe the boy rape cover-up was the real disaster.
  18. I think this is his way of trying to mean that trans people should have their right to life (how fucking brave) but that their flaunting it (on TV, because these people cannot ever live without fucking TV) is what should be discussed. Additionally books which are aimed at inclusivity and normalizing this to children should also be shunned, because we need to not indoctrinate our children in acceptance and diversity, but allow parental xenophobia to dominate. But that is just my guess. I could be wrong.
  19. Oh I should have figured another strawman argument coming. The rhetoric leading to violence has been long established and only debated by those whom are ashamed to be affiliated with the acts. So the problem is not the children slaughtered in the school and the feigned bewilderment at the cause/solution to this but really the issue is the people wanting to stop it. Let's shame Beto for bringing up the obvious when the people who cause it and are unwilling to stop it, console each other and get pissy with the man who calls them out. Will no one rid me of this turbulent poster?
  20. Goddamnit…. I laughed too much at this one. Thanks.
  21. I get it. I feel like I have been pushed to this place to live in a country that I do not recognize and identify with anymore. I used to actually believe we set the aspiration of being the beacon on the hill for others to follow. I used to believe the rhetoric about how we were all immigrants (excluding the natives) and how we made this country better. I thought we had the same idea to make the country better for everyone and those around us, but that we had different ideas on how to do it. I used to naively think, Nazism could never happen here. I used to think we we were on the side of human progress. Then I learned. I got older. I still naively held some of these beliefs. All it took was a mediocre looking redhead to infiltrate the NRA. All it took was a few stupids to put their own self-interest above the country and party, only to find out their longevity within that party would be shortened. All it took was a known script from past authoritarians to reshape people into being horrible to one another. Demanding papers of others, while wearing a flag pin and a cross, and pushing people to drown in a river. To find the most vulnerable people and say "fuck em, die" instead of trying to welcome them. To repeatedly vote to create and normalize horrors of school children being slaughtered while we pretend to not know what the solution is, who caused it, and why. To repeatedly hear people demonize the ones who are sensible, trying to help (pandemic medical staff), to hold honest, educated people to higher standards than we hold the most powerful people in the world. To embrace and celebrate the profits of unhealthy food addictions, pharmaceutical drug addictions, and decreasing support for education in this country. To cravenly resist the rise of the oligarchy, as we witness the gilded age II surpass the original gilded age, while in the throes of the age of fraud. So your experiences with the flag are different than mine. It was a background image mostly, but a symbol for both what I believed in, and also a banner for those who struggled, fought to change, fought to live, and fought to defend this country. But that is all stained now. It is a piece of cloth with words we don't give a fuck about, meanings we don't give a fuck about, and standards we don't even pretend to have. It is not a hope for the future, it is a symbol to smother the powerless and to bash into those who believe as naïvely as I did.
  22. The Japanese didn’t start out with a death cultist mindset. But all it took was a little push and normalizing of it to get it going. Celebrate heroic (ancestor)figures like Minamoto Tametomo who first started the suicide instead of capture and the rest of them followed suit. The non-stop anti-trans ads and accusations creeps into people’s minds. Just as propaganda does. The history books are filled with examples of this, heck we only recently had a massacre in Myanmar that was caused by these lies being perpetuated. Would you like me to go on with examples?
  23. I would join them. The US has decided to show its ass and be disrespectful to them, even to threaten their sovereign status, after being one of our closest partners for 100 years.
  24. don' yer tell me how 2 run my farm!
