  1. Anything to Tallahasse because you end up in Tallahasse
  2. midtown replied to HornPhD's topic in Food and Travel
Ive never had a problem with 100s. Now maybe a soda or small store but certainly not a charter
  3. My buddy and I have been doing this for years. Leave behind clothes and shoes you don't need or want. And lighten your bag or replace with new clothes. I promise you they will be put to use. You could fly to certain countries with nothing but the clothes on your back and an empty suitcase and just buy clothes at half the price
  4. Keeping this thread going. In the interim my son bought a 2006 GXr 600 rode it for 3 months (he had grand visions of track days but then realized he doesnt have track money) then straight traded it for a ZXR 7 with a shit paint job and a bad altenator. Crazy kid rode his Gxr to Ausitn and traded slips at a gas station while I followed him in my truck. Of course I was deemed a unsupportive dad because I told him riding a bike home from Austin with unknown conditions/reliability was stupid. What do you think happened? Yup just north of New Braunfels the bike completely died on the side of 35. Luckily we were right by a QT so we rolled it down the embankment and into the QT where we waited for an hour while a tow arrived. I sold my Eliminator to a young lad from Austin. So if you see an oragene eliminator around town it might be my old one. 451 engine is boring with the Bonnie and Trident. I kind of want another bike. Thought hard about a ZX6r but not sure my back would like that. Currently considering a Kawasaki z900RS and I just saw a Suzuki GSX 1000GT. Same Gxr engine but way more upright and this one actually has bags on it. I'd like something with a windshield I could ride accross teh state or say over to big bend.
  5. In the summer in Amsterdam. Enjoy the boat scene
  6. I don't own golf shirts I'm dark plain t-shirts for everything touristy. Long sleeve button up or plain collared shirt to dress things up a tad
  7. Yeah. Feel bad for him but that's two too many heart related on field collapses
  8. I bought into the Japanese dress to the nines and only wear pants and never shorts etc before my last trip to Japan two summers ago. Like hell they don't. Maybe not the older crowd but the younger sure do. I brought some shorts just in case as well as pants for nicer dinners etc. Sure glad I did. Taking my daughter to Japan/Korea this summer and Im definitely packing shorts again. Im not doing walking tours in pants in that heat. Now I will say I cant remember Singaporians wearing a lot of shorts. But damn that humidity in Singapore is insane so I definitely wore them there as well
  9. Everyone speaks English everywhere in Europe. The Netherlands. Belgium Czech etc. Hell even in the UK [emoji23]
  10. I met nice people everywhere. I've never had a bad conversation with anyone of any nationality that I've talked to. I've never had anyone say anything but positive things about the US and of course everyone seems to LOVE Texans. I usually get lots of questions about how living in the US actually is and half the time they tell about how badly they want to go to US. The hostess at my hotel in Ghent sat down at my table and asked about NYC since she was going for her degree.(sure wish I was 30 again) Even the exiting immigration officer leaving the Brussels train station spent like 5 mins talking to me when he saw I was born in Hawaii. He said it was his dream place to visit. 90% of the time I met people we end up talking travel anyway. Didnt; meant to derail this thread. Ill pack my jorts and fanny pack and head out
  11. While we are on the subject of tourists. I see so many social media posts decrying how horrible American tourists are. And yes of course there are some, but we are no where near being the worst. Are we a loud group absolutely. I think most of that stems from how little actual vacation time Americans get so when they travel they are having a great time. Groups of loud tourists Ive been around: Italians, Spainairds, Aussies, Brits, Russians, Vietnamese, Cambodians, Thai etc. and Im not even inlcuding a lot of cental and south Americans who can be quite boisterous. My list of worst tourists. Chinese Indian Russian French USA Debate me on this
  12. I take 10 international trips a year. Europe, Asia, Central and South America. And honestly. Im too busy minding my own business to give two shits about what anyone is wearing unless is a vest with dynamite strapped to it
  13. Thinking about heading over to BCS to watch Argentina v Honduras Saturday dressed in a Honduras jersey (I have a few because my daughter is on the womens team) and supporting La H but then I'd have to stay a night in that god for saken town. And because its ARG. Prices are insane.
