  1. It’s a good campaign strategy if people either believe it or don’t care.
  2. I agree with you on principle, but to be fair Mamdani promised some very silly and fantastical things.
  3. Governing well is the only thing that matters, but winning is the only requirement.
  4. But seriously, it’s like the Greg Casar. There are Democrats in Austin who want to “solve the Casar Situation.” Thats stupid. Greg wins. Democrats should embrace winners. If this guy can win consistently, they should embrace him too.
  5. I’m sitting in my office in midtown right now, so this hits close to home.

  7. My policy is fast cars, big tits, and loud rock and roll.
  8. He kinda looks like Looch there. The person, not the shrimp.
  9. And it’s not close
  10. Doing The Lord’s work here, thank you.

  12. Not only that, but I think they also have maternity packages in New Jersey.
  13. NYC isn’t very representative of the country, so I honestly don’t think this says anything about national politics. But what it really underscores is the stupidity of partisan elections at the municipal level and the strong mayor system in big cities. What NYC deserves and can’t get is an apolitical professional city manager. Local issue is local
  14. No I don’t and didn’t. as for the rest … take a deep breath Brian.
  15. If they did, that’s truly abhorrent. That said, most of what I’ve seen along those lines is evidence of the “911 was an inside job” variety. So let me get this straight- you’re affronted that I call Hamas a terrorist organization and an Iranian proxy, but at the same time you’re of the opinion that the Netanyahu regime was aware of a coming terrorist attack by Hamas via their intel on Iran. Therefore, I have my head in the sand.
  16. Mossad is very good at what they do, but I don’t think that’s true. “They” may have been a leaking bucket but the operational security between Hamas and Iran is probably very tight, for them anyway. Furthermore we can only guess what Mossad knew. And it’s possible to know things without knowing what they mean. Our own experience leading up to 9/11 is a good example of not putting pieces together and acting on information.
  17. Iran, but it’s not a stretch to frame the political security of the Netanyahu regime and those to his right as secondary beneficiaries of the attack. And why not, after all, they seem to have promoted Hamas as a way to undermine the successes of the Palestine Authority and thus secure their own position.
  18. Even if they didn’t explicitly order it or approve it, they were aware of it before it happened, didn’t act to stop it, and subsequently ordered celebrations and banners hung on the streets. Which makes sense, because they were the primary beneficiary.
  19. Everything you just said is bullshit. We know what terrorist organizations are and what terrorism is. The difference between a terrorist organization and a nation-state is not merely semantic. The relationship between a pariah state and their terrorist proxies is not similar to the relationship between two state actors with democratically chosen governments. Israel is certainly the beneficiary of US support. But suggesting they are somehow our puppet or act on our behalf independent of their own interests or constituents is utter nonsense. I’m not defending the conduct of Israel, but Hamas has been acting as the proxy of Iran since the October 7th attack. Hamas has no independent or constituent interest. They have been worse than indifferent to the people of Palestine since they took power. They have used the it just violence and intimidation against Israeli civilians and other Jews in the region but also deliberately worsen the suffering and intimidation of Palestinians as a political weapon and deliberately put them in harm’s way to achieve Iran’s political objective. That’s a terrorist proxy, by definition. Come on man.
  20. Well sure: 1) The United States, the ethnically and culturally diverse two hundred year old secular republic that is the world’s economic and cultural center, for all of its flaws, has nothing in common the Islamic Republic of Iran, a 46 year old 3rd world pariah state. 2) Hezbollah and Hamas are terrorist organizations, Israel is a nation-state 3) Israel is not a proxy of The United States in Israel. Hamas and Hezbollah, with respect to October 7 and everything since are almost exclusively Iranian proxies. Literally the only similarity is the acceptance of financial and military aid. it’s just an absurd analogy
  21. The big one reminds me of Looch
  22. In a word no. Just three big category errors in the service of a really ridiculously false equivalence. I don’t even know where to begin.
  23. I don’t know if there’s a good comparison available. when I was at UT during the troubles the IRA/Sinn Fein sent this young lady to recruit Irish Americans and American leftists of all stripes and our money to the cause of a free and Independent Irish Republic. It made no difference that most of us were not Roman Catholic or even Irish. Ireland and the world beckoned us to join the struggle! Further, the solidarity of purpose between a free Ireland and a free Palestine (and, sotto voce, against the unholy alliance of great power imperialism and international Jewry) was repeatedly and strongly emphasized. Anyway she was a knockout. Thick auburn hair, freckles, green eyes, and built to be painted on a B-29. Sort of a mix between prime Lindsey Lohan and Michelle Monaghan. I didn’t volunteer to go fight and I didn’t have any money to give but I did shoot my shot and went down in flames. I feel that in my own way I did my part as a martyr for the cause.
  24. This is an Anastasis-level #bothsides take, wow. No, and I can’t believe I even have to type these words, the relationship between Iran and her two terrorist clients/proxies in the Levant is in no respect like the relationship between the United States and Israel. good grief.
