Storm just missed my cars that were in a parking lot of one of the dripping springs middle schools. Any further west and both would have been trashed

Lake Travis 2024: Countdown To Zero
Yeah, we have water problems all over the area. Doesn't San Marcos pull from Canyon lake as well? So same straw different meter. There are a significant amount of people using ridiculous amounts of water. In my area there are a number of houses using 40k gallons a month. Water is a vital and limited resource and folks don't understand it just doesn't come out of the tap or sprinkler head via magic. It is going to take everyone conserving to ensure we have water to drink over the next decade.

Lake Travis 2024: Countdown To Zero
I wonder how many water taps that is for. That’s about what my area of 1000 homes uses a day…which is ridiculous.

Lake Travis 2024: Countdown To Zero
streamflows are starting to slow. We need some more rain in those basins while the ground is soaked.

Lake Travis 2024: Countdown To Zero
Yep. I believe we are close to 100,000 acre feet added in the last week. That takes us over the 900k acre ft that requires LCRA customers to go to Stage 2 restrictions. That being said, to go back to Stage 1 restrictions the lakes need to be at 1.1 million and inflows need to be flowing. The rain last weekend did a lot and will possibly help the area from going to stage 4 later in the summer.

Surly kids who can't get into UT
I have heard of kids going to Bowie the first couple of years and then transferring to Crocket to get into the top 10% or 6.5%....whatever UT is requiring these days.

Lake Travis 2024: Countdown To Zero
You have an extra 3 zeros on the end ~325,000 gallons to acre foot So around 7500 acre feet. Still a lot of water.

UT Pro-Palestine Protest Thread
- Israel
So who ordered the dean of students message yesterday if Hartzell didn’t have anything to do with this? If he is just being told what to do and doesn’t agree with it then burn the house down.- Israel
Dear UT community, This has been a challenging day for many. We have witnessed much activity we normally do not experience on our campus, and there is understandably a lot of emotion surrounding these events. Today, our University held firm, enforcing our rules while protecting the Constitutional right to free speech. Peaceful protests within our rules are acceptable. Breaking our rules and policies and disrupting others’ ability to learn are not allowed. The group that led this protest stated it was going to violate Institutional Rules. Our rules matter, and they will be enforced. Our University will not be occupied. The protesters tried to deliver on their stated intent to occupy campus. People not affiliated with UT joined them, and many ignored University officials’ continual pleas for restraint and to immediately disperse. The University did as we said we would do in the face of prohibited actions. We were prepared, with the necessary support to maintain campus operations and ensure the safety, well-being and learning environment for our more than 50,000 students. We are grateful for the countless staff members and state and University law enforcement officers, as well as support personnel who exercised extraordinary restraint in the face of a difficult situation that is playing out at universities across the country. There is a way to exercise freedom of speech and civil discourse, and our Office of the Dean of Students has continued to offer ways to ensure protests can happen within the rules. The University of Texas will continue to take necessary steps so that all our University functions proceed without interruption. Sincerely yours, Jay Hartzell President- Israel
