  1. And confetti cannons going off like it’s the National championship. Guess they do that for back to back Alamo Bowl champs
  2. From the research I’ve done, Ableton and Logic are always in the mix of recommendations, and I’ve been leaning in that direction. Thanks for the information.
  3. He probably thinks assassinations are just something he can decide to do because he’s a bonafide alpha male internet tough guy who “sorta remembers that Clark guy” from the Clancy book he read part of a long time ago. “America1776Patriot” is not one to be trifled with.
  4. None of the officials standing nearby, none of the “assistant coaches,” none of the spectators, and none of the kids reacted at all, like this is normal. That tells me behavior like this isn’t uncommon in that particular youth league. If the coach is also the father, I’d hate to see what kind of “discipline” that kid gets at home. I grew dirt poor playing little league and peewee football in rural north Texas, and I saw some dads get loud, obnoxious, and maybe grab a kid a little too hard, but that video makes me ragey.
  5. Lots of cool and interesting stuff here and in the share your music thread. I’ve been looking to move beyond the pointless jamming I’ve been doing for so long and finally commit to real composition and recording. Can someone recommend some quality PC daws that allow for both composing with loops & samples and recording external guitars etc? I already have some recommendations for audio interfaces and other basics. Hopefully someday I’ll have a setup to record live drums other than my V-drums, but for now I’m happy to create beats and loops. Any recommendations and feedback is greatly appreciated!
  6. K State is horrible, but I can’t remember when we had two 100 rushers in a game and neither were the QB.
  7. “You wanna see roughing? I’ll SHOW you roughing, motherfucker!”
  8. Where ever this thing is built, it will be easy to spot with the giant gold-lettered TRUMP brand logo and flags. Lots and lots of flags.
  9. That’s what I was wondering. I was told there would be the release of Powell’s kraken and her evidence of biblical proportions.
  10. The best thing about that trailer is that there doesn’t appear to be any tongue-in-cheek hipster irony. It actually takes itself seriously, so that ramps up the possibility of unintentional comedy. For that reason, I’ll find time to stream it.
  11. Pretty funny movie. I still have a copy of it, but haven’t seen it in years. It’s a fictional B-movie that’s a hybrid between a bad sci-fi space flick and Russ Meyer titty movie. The “broadcast” is repeatedly interrupted by technical difficulties and the time is filled with phony ads and unrelated shorts. Tons and great cameos and memorable shorts, especially the Pet of Month bit.
  12. “Satanic Panic” was a real thing in the late 70s and early 80s in North Texas, so we watched the shit out of Race With The Devil and other movies with “fear of devil worshippers.” I also grew up on Shaw Bros kung fu movies and 70s exploitation flicks. Me and my best friend from high school found Black Belt Jones after seeing it previewed in a B-movie compilation called “It Came from Hollywood.” Now into our 50s, we can still run every line from that movie. To this day, I can’t hear the word “Batman” without adding “motherfuckerrr! If you know, you know.
  13. I liked it. Psychological sci-fi that is well conceived and delivered. It’s not the kind of sci-fi for people looking for fast moving action and flashy visual effects. I enjoyed the surreal visuals and having to pay close attention to follow the stories. The visuals made me check out the source artwork, which is very strange and interesting. I enjoyed it, but the stories and series overall left me feeling oddly unsettled. I can’t really put my finger on the cause of that. Hope it gets a second season.
  14. Hopefully a return to something closer to center than Trump’s version of conservatism, to rational, thoughtful, and dignified leadership, and to have an administration focused on including the concerns of all Americans and not just the card-carrying party line voters. And for my teenage daughter, a remarkable young woman of color, for her to have representation in the level of executive power.
  15. Man, I would have loved to have seen Kuss just turn it loose on the Angliru. I wonder how close he is to being a truly special and dominant climber. My guess is that he is already pretty high on that list and team plans and tactics are the things keeping him from really putting on a show. Every time I watch a race with the Angliru it further fortifies my resolve to visit that beast in person. The next time I go to Spain it is a mandatory stop. What an unrelenting monster of a climb. Interesting ITT tomorrow with an uphill finish. After that last time trial at the Tour, I expecting Roglic to light this thing up. I don’t think putting more than 13 seconds into Carapaz is out of the question. Pretty damn compelling race so far.
  16. The Big Wheel ice cream sandwich from 7-11 in the 80s. Couldn’t find a photo of the package. Two chocolate covered oatmeal cookies with vanilla ice cream. We used to crush those things in the north Texas summers.
  17. Damn, Primoz! Today was supposed to be for the sprinters. Dude has no chill this week. Guess he must feel pretty good to make an effort like that today going into some difficult days in the mountains.
  18. Donated and forwarded the message to likeminded friends, family, and colleagues. Thanks for getting the message out!
  19. No kidding. The way Roglic savagely dropped Carapaz in the last km, then doubled the gap in the last 200m is a sign that he ain’t playing around. Even though he played the good sport when losing the Tour in such humiliating fashion, you have to wonder if he realized his mistake in not attacking Pogacar more often to put time into him and is making an effort to be more aggressive.
  20. Sucks it’s only 5 episodes. There’s at least a couple more hours of interesting stories to tell after the return of Rogan.
  21. I think it was a pretty thorough account of that time. I was curious to see if Binder was going to round up and interview all of the people who were either Team Mencia or the ones afraid to NOT be Team Mencia. It’s pretty clear that what Rogan did was overdue and he obviously ended up on “the right side of history” so to speak, but that happened way before Rogan had anywhere near the cache in that scene that he had these days. When Redban’s video got out there, before “going viral” was this everyday thing, it was one of the biggest and most public call outs of a joke thief we had seen. The impact was greater because Rogan didn’t do it behind Mencia’s back, he confronted him in front a paying crowd and other comics. I was pretty “meh” on Rogan’s standup at the time, but appreciated that he had the nerve to bring to light this issue with Mencia that other comics were pissed about, but didn’t want to rock the boat with Mitzi and lose spots. It’s also cool to see that the known joke thieves are largely irrelevant these days, and that The Comedy Store scene rebounded and is flourishing, at least when there’s not a pandemic.
