  1. “JMU is undefeated on the road when scoring more than 50 points, and that just scares you to death.”
  2. Saw that yesterday. Very interesting thing to do and makes an emphatic statement. Visma have been losing riders over the last year and aren’t the dominant force they were in the last few years. It will be interesting to see what they had was temporary or if they can keep attracting strong talent.
  3. Good god, aggy’s incessant mantra of “Texas seems good, but they have yet to experience the SEC grind” reminds me of the Bill Hicks Desert Storm bit about how the US Forces are rolling, “but have yet to face the elite Republican Guard.” Sure, the players are big, fast, and strong, but so is Texas. And it’s still college football.
  4. How will the Booty take that length?
  5. Reed rallying his aggy troops in the sidelines after the scorer. Feelin’ positive against gata. Clickety-clack.
  6. I can’t believe how well the Bobcats can pass protect when so outmatched in size. Very impressive!
  7. Some aggy in those screenshots mentioned that Texas playing them as our last SEC road game of the season gives them an added advantage, like we’ve never played them at Pyle Field many times in the SWC and Big XII. I don’t see how the SEC logo on the unis and field of a perennially middling team somehow imbues them with added power. It just means more?
  8. Exactly. The barely FBS Bobcats beat the Roadrunners by 39 points. Texas just went into Ann Arbor with calm confidence and handled Michigan with ease. If our margin of victory over UTSA is less than 40 points, it will be Sark naming the score.
  9. Limping to the finish ain’t it. Guessing this won’t happen with games still in doubt.
  10. Whether it’s with the ballot box or an inspired act of god, Abbott, Paxton and their billionaire mega donor MAGA pastors Tim Dunn and Farris Wilks, have to go before they can accomplish their goal of turning Texas into a true Christian Nationalist state. The will of the people is not being done in our state.
  11. I used to go to a lot of DMB shows before Leroi’s passing. Went to a few after that, but I had kids and took a break in traveling to see a lot of bands while they were younger. I haven’t been to any shows or seen any substantial live performance footage of them since Boyd left. I was just looking up to see what they’ve been up to and was surprised to see that it doesn’t appear that they hired a replacement violinist for either recording or touring. Is that correct? If so, does that leave the live shows these days feeing a little empty without that part of the bands sound and the energy he brought onstage? I know this must be ancient news to people who have been going to their shows since then, it just seems wild to not replace that part of their identity.
  12. That would be funny, but it’s a stretch. The Bobcats barely eked out a win against the mighty FCS Lamar Cardinals. At home. They looked almost as sloppy as aggy and Irish.
  13. Texas scored 7 TDs, all in the red zone. The longest was 11 yards, and five of them were 5 yards or less. That seems like a pretty good red zone percentage.
  14. We win either way. If aggy loses, it’s funny. If they win…..clickety-clack.
  15. This is one of those types of crashes that make you hold your breath like the Itzulia Basque crash. That could have been way worse for Brandon. It was a relief to see him climb up over the guardrail and look reasonably coherent.
  16. Yep. Impending doom and death by a thousand cuts for O’Connor. McNutty looked rough coming in, but amazing he was still able to finish as part of that group.
  17. I’ll check out the replay and find a Chris Horner video on YouTube to get the skinny on which teams and riders were the knuckleheads a rider like O’Cinnor to go up the road unmarked. Weird indeed.
  18. Just got back from Colorado wasn’t following the La Vuelta. Checked in here to see not much discussion about the race so far. It should be interesting to backtrack to see how Ben O’Connor leads the favorites by five minutes after six stages.
  19. Despite the number of arrests and convictions, media attention, and political discourse related to January 6, 2021, it still feels to me like the actions that day have not been harshly enough rebuked and the nation as a whole has not expressed the appropriate degree of outrage. Seeing that footage will never fail to boil my blood and galvanize my resolve to disavow and remove from my life, any family member, friend, colleague, neighbor, etc who expresses explicit support or implicit ambiguity or ambivalence for that treasonous assault on the democratic process that day. It’s just maddeningly surreal, outrageous, and so infuriating, and it feels like it didn’t move the needle of peoples attention spans for very long. Or maybe I’m not long before shaking my fist and yelling at clouds.
