  1. It is a bit sad that the film business today is mostly bankrupt of quality originality. Constantly leaning on past writer’s/producer’s work in such a lazy way has gone way past getting old.
  2. Apparently Keanu Reeves is a pretty cool cat and there are a ton of stories about him cooly interacting with fans that Robert De Niro would have run away from out of fear. That kind of stuff just makes it that much easier to dig the shit out of John Wick flicks.
  3. I’ve watched every season of Survivor since season 1. I can’t even really say why, but for some reason I started to delete this season’s episodes from my DVR starting at week 4. I think I just really had no interest in ANY of the players this season. Kind of wish I would have watched it just see what the hell you guys are talking about. Sounds like some new bullshit occurred.
  4. The Judge Jeanine bit on the Weekend Update was hilarious.
  5. True, but on the other hand it looks like Biden is in a total state of hyper awareness when compared to this de Blasio guy. Holy shit!
  6. You guys definitely are not going to like my suggestion. We travel on 290 frequently and the massive number of private and commercial drives are the primary fear for us. They need to go ahead and substantially reduce the speed limit and traffic light the hell out of it from Austin to past Dripping Springs. Unless they figure out a way to properly build it out with access roads. Would be a huge clusterfuck, but might save some lives. On the other hand, I guess more traffic lights would present more opportunity for red light runners to kill a bunch of people. I guess that’s why I would also lower the speed limit quite a bit. Something else about that stretch of road. During certain times of the year the sunset is directly over stretches leading to DS.
  7. Damn video and fake babies. Without all of that the cop could have easily claimed that the fetus made “furtive movements”.
  8. “We’ve compiled a list of individuals to hold accountable.”, or something like that, but it was a knee slapper when it happened. Did a helicopter really go down after getting too close, or was that added for TV effect?
  9. “gunshot victim” Yeah, he was definitely a victim of bad policing. Cops and guns are an extremely dangerous combination.
  10. Was a passenger in a “motherfucker’s” car several years ago when he pulled out in front of a car traveling south on MANSHACK(motherfuckers!). The other driver pounds on his horn and I’m like WTF. Motherfucker just says “He’s got breaks!”. I can’t even remember who that motherfucker was, but he’s probably dead by now. I just hope he didn’t take out someone else too. And yeah, there are a shit ton of motherfuckers out there that drive with the attitude that they can do whatever the fuck they want to do and everyone else will just have to deal with it.
  11. This really reminds me of the wide spread corruption involving the LAPD Rampart (CRASH) unit in the ‘90s. I’d like to see a point by point breakdown of the confliction between the HPD report and the actual evidence. At this point it’s pretty obvious that the department was in a business as usual mode as they quickly pushed the standard cover-up on the perpetually stooged local media. It has no doubt worked thousands of times in the past, this one just got away from them as a result of a sloppy assault team. Bound to happen sooner or later in a widely corrupt department as big as the HPD. Especially when a lot of them are drinking on the job.
  12. In two or three decades Austin will likely look much like Houston does today. Houston will probably be straight up Thunderdome by then. We’re definitely on a collision course with a large portion of people from all over that want to move here as quick as humanly possible. Having said that, I lived in the West U area for 10 years and really enjoyed my time in Houston. Only returned to Austin twice during that period. We’re now planted in the Hill Country west of Austin and the development out here is like nuclear fission.
  13. That bitch deserves a devastating blow to the head.
  14. Passengers reported that one particular man is responsible for the death of many passengers as he blocked a bunch of people while wrestling his carry-on out of the overhead. That guy should have been beaten to death on the tarmac.
  15. At the moment I really can’t think of any other movies that I’ve rewatched as much as FMJ and Platoon.
  16. “Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers and head of the Bureau for Fuel and Energy” Rusky job titles are best titles. Show looks pretty damn good so far.
  17. “Now which one of you cowards shit in my pants?” Fucking awesome. First time I’ve ever heard that one.
  18. The world only has about 12 years left. So not really a problem worth worrying about.
  19. A few years beck we had this issue. I watched the A/C guy pop off a small panel and immediately identify the problem. He made sure it was discharged and handed it to me and said “you might want to keep this for reference if it happens again”. I have much appreciation for guys like that. You just never know with some people. Was waiting at the counter a local outdoor power business the other day when this guy walks in with a nearly new Stihl chainsaw and says it’s locked up. Counter guy informs him of the shop rate and starts to write up a service ticket. Me- Hey, you check the chain brake? Customer- Ummm, no. Yep, the shop was about to charge this cat 60+ dollars to flip the chain brake off whenever they got to it. Counter guy was not exactly happy even though he tried to play it off as if he was.
  20. Houston is the city version of the Dark Web.
  21. For the surly experts. How many judges are in Cook county? The judge tasked with deciding whether a “special prosecutor should have been assigned” having a son that works in Fox’s office seems a bit fortunate.
  22. We have a couple of Corgis. We love the hell out of ‘em.
