  1. I’ve seen it once. Young guy in a sandwich shop in my town of 6,000 that doesn’t have violent crime. Hell, nobody locks their front doors or even their bikes around town. I laughed and my first thought was “that poor guy has never gotten laid”. But I bet you look a lot less pathetic.
  2. You are fundamentally broken when that is your solution. I’m not name-calling there, I’m serious. You’re completely broken.
  3. We’re in complete agreement that we will do absolutely nothing while school kids continue to get murdered while trying to learn. This is America, the only place on earth where it routinely happens.
  4. Who I am to judge a grown man working in a retail shop?
  5. Well, let’s keep debating it while people keep legally buying these things and mowing down little kids at school.
  6. Scared but also powerless. Handcruser’s shot about the wife wearing the pants is projection on his part. He feels powerless and weak. Carrying a gun makes him feel powerful and in control. Because deep down, he knows he is weak and powerless.
  7. That would make a ton of sense if life weren’t life and we could ignore every other possible outcome and make decisions based on hypotheticals in a vacuum.
  8. It’s fucking insane that the question he asks himself is “what could have happened if we had more guns?” This country is so hopelessly fucked.
  9. Why do you keep speaking for everyone when you suggest we would all want to carry a gun? You don’t get to speak for me.
  10. The best Johnny Sack was covid-era late night bourbon Johnny Sack that let out the truly evil, racist ruminations cycling through his deacon brain.
  11. My favorite responsible gun owner stories are the ones where two dads end up in a shootout with their kids in the car because one cut the other off in traffic.
  12. It’s not animus. I fished with a dude a few years ago that wouldn’t leave the truck without holstering some sort of handgun. It’s hard to describe what I felt, but it was so sadly emasculating I cringe thinking about it now. Funny sidenote about that day…as “prepared” as he was, soldier boy forgot to tell me he’s deathly allergic to deet. Found out after I doused myself with Off and he smelled it from like 30 feet away. That was fun.
  13. Do you ever wonder about the “stories” of all those guns you’ve legally sold? I bet most have led a truly uneventful life and some have played a part in some of the saddest and most tragic moments imaginable.
  14. I can’t even imagine feeling so scared in my own home or driving around town that I needed a gun. I feel bad for y’all.
  15. How do I ask this without sounding like a racist asshole? You know what? Nevermind.
  16. interesting, and yeah i can see how being an energy hub would bring folks from all over. dallas burb here, i don't ever recall ever meeting a kid that wasn't from there.
  17. Anyone remember growing up when the idea of a new classmate that wasn’t from Texas was pretty much non-existent?
  18. I’m a little high but did we talk about Putin shipping Nukes to Belarus a couple of days after putting out a joint statement with Xi saying they wouldn’t do that?
  19. Yes that’s what I’m wondering about…would love to see anything you find.
  20. Random question: Are there polls tracking French support for this war?
