  1. Sipping a coffee and watching the sun rise on Fayette-nam. Gonna be a wonderful football day!
  2. My boys said they won’t be able to see us before the game as they have to camp out for entrance Friday night/Sat morning to get in to see the game. May swing by- I’ll have my orange shirt but hog-dad hat on with 3 moms (no pics) in tow…
  3. I’ve got two of those up there as well… One was top 7% but wanted to go to business school so didn’t even apply to UT as chances were slim/none to get in but “No way I’m even applying to a&m as they are weird…” even though all wife’s family went there (wife was only one in her clan to go somewhere other than a&m). The other kid chose UArk over Tech as he thought Lubbock was a shit hole the cost is about the same with the OOS discount and could room with his twin brother. We’re headed up for the game tomorrow to see both them for the game and weekend - I’m betting both wear UArk gear to the game as they don’t want to get killed in the student section and by chance, give dad crap if we shit the bed on Sat… And i’ll be wearing my burnt orange all weekend… if anyone knows of a good UT tailgate (since it looks like there won’t be a Surly one), let me know via PM…
  4. If your kid wants to go Greek first semester (boys perspective) at UArk, then make sure they attend events during the summer rush events as many freshmen show up with “pre-bids” going into rush. A lot of the “slots” are already filled before rush starts at the “main” frats so a lot of boys who expect to get a bid just participating in the rush events don’t get one… And with all the Dallas kids there, the Houston and Austin kids are at a disadvantage since there is a pipeline already in place from the Dallas schools and most rush events are in Dallas…
  5. I’m paying around 25k a semester all in at Ark for 2. One twin got the 90% OOS scholarship and the other got 80%. And both are in Walton Business school studying Supply Chain which is ranked in the top 10 nationally ( thanks Walmart!)
  6. You learn to cope… With the 70% tuition, it works out to be slightly less than Tech…
  7. Stremio or Kodi with a Real Debrid server and vpn…
  8. Saw this when I was 12-13 when I went to Chicago to camp. 2 weeks after camp, family vacation in Pensacola. Dad rented a catamaran and took me to sail the bay and dumped it in the middle of the bay. That was a good 20 minute absolute panic attack as dad tried to flip it back over and me trying to walk on water... Two other boats came up to see who died from all my screaming and dad not knowing how to right it... To this day, I can't wade or bodyboard in the surf unless there is at least one person further out than me in the surf... (not that it would matter, but still...)
  9. Just started Blue Lights which is a Brit/Irish tv series that has a few rookie cops paired with some more senior partners in modern day Ireland. Have made it through 3 episodes of S1 (there are 2 with a 3rd coming) and it hasn't been too bad... I think you can find on Prime if not elsewhere... I have been watching with captions due to the accents...
  10. My little dorks are on the field right now partying…
  11. Does anyone care on the cost at that point? Lights/fans/internet/a/c vs none? I don't care about the cost and more about not sweating my balls off for a few days...
  12. Pinging @immamac to see if there is a Surly tailgate planned for the UT-ARK game as it's within driving distance for many in Texas...
  13. Mine are down the hill at Pomfret by the stadium - they joke that the have to climb Currahee to go to classes... "3 miles up, 3 mile down..." Their parking is at Harmon (on the hill) so needless to say, not many miles being put on the car but on game days, to get the car back into the garage, they need to get a pass otherwise they cant get back onto campus until after the game restrictions end (supposedly). We may just Uber for the UT game as our rental is just on the other side of the "freeway". I'll PM you closer to the game to see where you are tailgating...
  14. My twins are freshmen there as well (supply chain). If your kid has on campus parking, they supposedly can get a tag from the parking department that allows them to get on/off campus to get back to their garage on game days. Our plan for the UT game is to have them pick us up from our rental condo on game day. (According to one of the parent FB groups)
  15. Where has the DE from UTSA been in these games? I don’t think I’ve heard his name called once…
