My fight this year is the actual land value that went up 400% from what its been for years... (I live in a "master planned community" that has been built out for years where there are no empty lots where they can use as comps...)
Last fight I had with them - and got my rate reduced - had them saying I couldn't use comps on houses outside my neighborhood as they didn't apply. So how are they justifying the land value increases? If its from a lot that is miles away, can I use the housing comps from that distance away as well?
On top of that, they were previously basing the land value apparently by the lot size but this year, they had every lot on the street with the exact same assessment regardless of the size of the lot... As my lot is one of the smaller ones on our street, the percentage of increase on my lot was higher than the larger lots...
Lazy frigging assessors... GFU...
