  1. Not to change the topic but I tried the Arby's version of their rib sandwich and it was pretty good... That being said, I always ask for extra onions and pickles when I order my McRibs...
  2. Looks like a cheaper alternative of the Karau inverse smoker... C-60 Pit | KBQ (at 1/3 the cost)
  3. I have 200+K Avios miles/points and want to take the wife to Barcelona for a long weekend - what's the best way to book a flight/use the miles? I went to BA website and can't find options to use the Avios points. Iberia had Houston to BCN flights for about $500/per R/T ticket in e.December but I figured I've got a ton of points that I should be able to get some free seats in either premium economy or business with the points but for $100k r/t for 2 of us, I might just buy the tickets...
  4. Lived in Copenhagen for a few years and drove to Berlin a few times including Christmas. Berlin is just a big city and other than Brandenburg Gate, The Berlin Zoo (young kids), it's just another big city with the usual attractions that you can find in any other big city. Remember Berlin was leveled and rebuilt so not too much "old" to see but if you are visiting people there, they will keep you busy. You can still tell if you are visiting the old East of West side of Berlin... Note - I hate shopping and every Christmas market seems the same to me and I hate them other mulled wine and food... Visit Potsdam which is 30-45 minutes to the SW of Berlin. Lots of palaces/summer homes in the valley that survived the war and is a nice walkable town- "feels" more "old Germany". (I second visiting Prague if you can swing it - one of my favorite cities in N Europe...) The Hartz mountains between Berlin and Hamburg have some neat little towns and attractions including skiing. Hamburg has a few things to see as well but again, mostly the same stuff as any other German city. (Model train museum is pretty impressive for kids and adults) Lubeck is a neat small town with a Christmas market and filled with Danes making the run across the border for cheap shopping. Aachen is cool but totally the opposite direction you are going. Shop, eat and drink well while in Germany because you will spend out the nose to do the same when you go to Copenhagen. Tivoli is a must stop as is the harbor area and Christania while there. Christmas markets in CPH aren't anything special... (And yes, Noma is worth the experience if you can get a table - but it's at least $400/person w/o booze ...)
  5. No, the bitch is there was basically the exact same screenplay and dialog as the movie 30 years ago and it's not like Hebert wrote a single book. The assumption was that they might take this movie beyond what was done already and expand it... Get creative and do something different rather than rinse and repeat...
  6. Good to know! I sent a pair of my old elephants to get fixed a few year ago and he did a great job. I have a pair of my dad's old elephants I wanted to get redone but I guess I better find another place now...
  7. Spoiler alert...
  8. Sling also has a similar device as does Amazon. I chose the Tablo 3 years ago as it was the best deal for me. It does require a subscription to get the updated programming guide and I screwed up by buying a yearly renewal (as opposed to a lifetime one) AZ I assumed there would be a better replacement or a hack. After 3 years, I've now crossed the threshold where it would have cheaper to have bought the lifetime one as opposed to paying for year 4...
  9. What happens when you launch the app on your fire stick?
  10. The beauty of YTTV is you can have it activated on a bunch of different devices and can watch it on up to 5 devices at the same time. That's one reason I live YTTV over the other options...
  11. When you try to launch the app, it should tell you to go to a website (on the tv) and to put in the code that is displayed on the tv to activate that tv to your account
  12. Use your phone or pc to create an account online first.
  13. Just buy it and create an account your phone or another device and then use that info to sign in...
  14. I have one OTA antenna in the attic and run the coax into the back of my Tablo which sits next to my router/switch. Tablo app on every SmartTV or FireBox/Stick connected wirelessly to Tablo and the hard drive attached. Bought the Tablo for the recording of the OTA signal back when you couldn't get local channels on PSTV. Once PSTV went away and I switched to YTTV which had local stations, the Tablo just sat there unused until the freeze hit in Feb and lost internet. Plugged it, antenna and to UPS and generator and had local tv back. I now use it to record and watch football games/sports in better HD than YTTV (I hate commercials so I record everything so i can skip them...)
  15. BS... This is just a theory and model that has been "poo-pooed" in the geology community... It assumes the whole island does a "cannonball" (like the image above) rather than a "landslide" into the ocean... Think of the difference of pouring a bucket of dirt in a lake vs. "dumping" it all at once... Yes, either could cause a tsunami but you aren't going to see a 25m wall of water wipe out the whole east coast... (Yes, it could happen but the odds are probably as good as me winning the lottery tonight...) Even the Alaska example was a "black swan" event - narrow inlet channel and a seabead bottom that formed a "V" that accentuated the wave... (That being said, if you have a house say, at Hilton Head, and want to sell it to me for $10, ignore what I said...)
  16. So has he ever played this season or did he actually bail on his senior season?
  17. Have YTTV mainly for the multiple streams, DVR and local channels (I miss PS Vue!). Watching YTTV and seeing a lot of ads for youneedchannels.com. Anyone have any scoop?
  18. Good episode - I laughed out loud a few times...
  19. This is exactally what I tried and didn’t find it any faster than my Velop WiFi 5 mesh but I did find the user interface better than what I had with the Velop and if I hasn’t already had the current mesh, I would have kept it...
  20. I’m about to watch the next episode and will post my comments before I go to bed without a spoiler alert just to give you guys something different to bitch about...
  21. Feeds 35? Closer to 15 in my experience... My 24 incher feeds 8-10...
  22. Will research but I thought it was the worst episode of the season
  23. Hell, we had all the A/C units in our house in Malaysia (one per room) set at 68 and slept under a down comforter and had condensation on the inside of every window back in the day when the company was paying for all the utilities... Now that I think about it, maybe that's why they transferred me to Norway next... Saturday afternoon can't come fast enough...
  24. So menopause has hit your household as well?
