  1. I'm in the dark here on the current T&C's of the lease. Not sure what are the current lease terms so would probably require either buying out the current operators or getting new leases on the deeper rights... The current operators bought the lease 2 years ago for existing production for just over a million but production was from wells that have been producing for year (~5K bbls last year). All previous production is shallow and these prospects are deeper. What he was asking me is what a "reasonable" %ORRI would be to ask for as the only question to him from the investor was "what are you want for the data and prospects" and no clue on what to say... (He was at a party and in the conversation mentioned he had cleaned out his dad's old office and found all the prospect info in a bunch of boxes and CD's when the "investor" asked...)
  2. Thought I'd ask here as someone asked me but I didn't know as that's a different side of the business than I'm in... Someone approached my buddy about some of the prospects that his old man (independent geologist but now gone) had put together years ago - he still has all the maps, logs, 3D seismic (and model) and the proposed exploration targets (deeper prospects of an existing field). Current operator is just stripping the existing reservoirs.) What sort of ORRI should he be asking for? I've Googled and seen the 1.5-3% range but I've has someone else say 5-7%... I figured someone here might know what he might expect/request when meeting with the potential investors... Plan was to just hand over all the info to the investors - with their own G&G team to review/revise existing prospects - for ORRI and some sort of "transfer" fee or signing bonus. (And maybe the possibility buying in WI in the future if the first few wells are successful...) I didn't know what to tell him a "reasonable" request for % or $ was these days before he walks into the discussions... Anyone?
  3. Anyone got a LHN stream? (Only thing I really hate about YTTV...)
  4. Great band to have seen live a few times... Damn, I'm old...
  5. Kodi or Stremio (with a dibrid account) work great (with a vpn, of course) as alternative to all the subscription services. I do have YTTV for the DVR and “live” events.
  6. Got a kid that just turned 18 and wanted to get him a Chase card tied to my account to start building him credit. Anyone know if you can get a miles bonus for referring a family member for a card?
  7. Called today and got 12 months for 4.99 with no effort. Probably because I had been paying the full rate for 2 months since I forgot to renegotiate when my previous deal expired 3 months ago.
  8. That’s a pretty high bar to set… (Or a low one depending on how you are looking at it…)
  9. Got a notice that Lake Conroe is about full and they are dumping water downstream…
  10. “Get this G-D thing off my head” meme/gif…

  12. Thanks! I was thinking 250-300 off the top of my head so I'll shoot for more...
  13. That my my thinking... My cover is foil lined and insulated so a small heat source in there should trap the heat in there and be good overnight... Not warm enough to cook the PVC but good enough to keep the brass above freezing. (I drained the valves but the previous brass one cracked last freeze despite being wrapped and drained...)
  14. So what can I sell a slightly used 22" WSF for these days? With cover, upgraded thermometer, upgraded diffuser and door seal... Won a XL BGE at a raffle and later bought a Traeger right after got the WSM and it's just sitting in my garage...
  15. That sucks... I had planned to take it a few years ago when I had to stay in Madrid over a weekend but ended up going to Barcelona via train instead...
  16. I tried it last night for the first time under the insulated cover our our pool backflow preventer as it's on the north side of the house...
  17. Didn't realize FAFSA is actually a requirement to graduate in Texas... (From our school district) The Texas Legislature established a new requirement for Texas high school students to complete a financial aid application in order to graduate. Starting in the 2021-2022 school year,
  18. One more nice day trip from Madrid is taking the train to Segovia - a roman aqueduct, Gothic cathedral in center of town and one of the castles that "inspired" one of the Disney castles.
  19. There is an overnight train that leaves Madrid at midnight and arrives in Lisbon at 7am. I’ve been planning to take it on one of my Madrid trips (for work) but haven’t done it yet so can’t vouch for the experience…
  20. Take the high speed train from Madrid to Toledo and make a day trip of it. I got on one of those hop-on/pop-off tour busses from the Toledo train station and after the tour, got off and walked around town for a few hours before taking the escalators down and catching the train back to Madrid. It’s a pretty small town to see in a day.
  21. Conroe ISD just announced schools closed on Tuesday - we had a nice mist come down just hard enough to make everything wet that ought to make for an interesting commute tonight...
  22. I bought some of those 10-hour chemical hand warmers and am gonna put one packet inside each insulated "sock" that I have on every outside faucet. Not sure if will make any difference but I figured, what the heck...
