How many are “several”? She died in 2008 and had turned into your typical Jewish bubbe long before that. But back in the day…

  4. German version?
  5. Fair assessment, but you have to admit that he's damned passionate about it.
  6. Not a great photo but this is a bald eagle I mentioned above.
  7. I'm not really birder but I've noticed a lot of different species here in west Houston in the last few years. I've got a big owl I've only seen once but can hear from my bedroom almost every night. I've had a colony of nesting Mississippi Kites for the last few years in the neighborhood. Various falcons and hawks. All kinds of songbirds, hummingbirds and of course west Houston's famous turkey vultures. But most people would be surprised to know that for the last three years at least, there's been a nesting pair of bald eagles at the bridge on Briar Forest over Buffalo Bayou between Gessner and Memorial. I first noticed them when one flew over the bridge in front of me. Once I started looking for them, I see them pretty often. That's pretty cool.
  8. Third page and no one has suggested the obvious Ricky Williams crossover/NIL dea!? Bunch'a stoners up in here. (Yeah yeah...Username and avatar check out.)
  9. With absolutely no idea what you look like, I could absolutely visualize that smirk as I read your post. Congrats on your very descriptive prose. 😂
  10. Orientation is always as if you just entered the store and are standing in the doorway. Always. HTH.
  11. He didn't have much choice. You seemed to be on a mission and were not going to rest.
  12. How old are you guys? Seriously, it's for my thesis. Thanks.
  13. I vote for giving him a very large contract with "outs". Reward him for the job he's already done. We can afford it. He proved he could win with Beard's team. If he can effectively build and maintain his own teams, he can stay as long as he wants. He " should" be able to do that in the short term thanks to this year's showing and the portal and NIL. I think he's earned the chance to try. Not for nothing, but it's obvious his players love him.
  14. banger!?!?! I never even met her!
  15. You can order them directly from Alamo. You’d want the machine made ones. If you can go to the store on Berry, you can get the hand made ones directly from the steamer. They’re really good.

Are you letting us know you’re on your period? Sorry, it’s really early.
  17. I probably posted this up thread already, but I celebrate Melinda's entire catalogue.

Have you ever been to Ruchi's? It's a small local taqueria chain. It's pretty good if you don't stray too far from the basic tacos, burritos, etc., but the green sauce is spectacular.

Pico's, Richmond at Kirby. Great specials and moles.
  20. I posted about this on another thread but I spent the entire month of June, 2021 in the Algarve in southern Portugal. My uncle had died and I had to go rescue my elderly aunt. Honestly, I didn’t get to see very much. She was in ill health herself so I saw no museums, toured no castles or vineyards or olive groves. I never even got down to the beach a few hundred feet below their condo. I only ate at a handful of restaurants but did a lot of cooking and loved the local grocery store. I DID get to visit the emergency room in Portimao, the hair place in Lagos and the skin treatment place in Luz. I say all that just to get to this: I LOVED Portugal. I loved the people I met. I loved driving the roundabouts. I loved the food, the wine, the climate. We spent the last couple of days in Lisbon but again, I didn’t see much and there was much to see. If I ever “cross the pond” again, it will be to get back to Portugal. Oh yeah, my point - spend a week in Lisbon. Take an overnighter somewhere if you want, (Porto/Douro), but Lisbon is awesome. I look forward to your travelogue and photos. One caveat, the trains are constantly on strike. I had two train rides planned, one from Lisbon to Faro on my arrival, and one from Faro to Lisbon on our departure. Both cancelled due to strike. I still get alerts from the Portuguese railroad when there’s a strike planned. It happens a lot. Just something to keep in mind.
  21. Will we beat these guys to advance to the Sweet Sixteen or will they butt fuck us? * * or both? Edited to add: ∆ Username and avatar check the fuck out, eh?
  22. There used to be a Quizno's at Gessner and Westheimer and I popped in there every so often for a half sandwich and cup of soup to go. The "last" time I was there I got a cup of clam chowder. Clam chowder. Quizno's.
  23. I'll wait until Georgio from Ancient Aliens tells me what it's all about. Activity at the Bermuda Triangle underwater bases would be my guess. 🤔
  24. Hah! I read that in Hank Hill’s voice.
