  1. No, we really don't, not seriously anyway. Just try to get Chuckie Shumer to say out loud that the US is "a bastion of Republicanism".
  2. Hey PhD, this guy wants to edit your writing. How about giving him a job? j/k. drunk posting is best posting.
  3. That's not funny. I hope she did cap his punk ass.
  4. Sushi Jin, way out west at Memorial and Dairy Ashford. Really good, creative head chef. Recommended.
  5. A lot already mentioned plus: Psychedelic Furs Echo & the Bunnymen Blondie Any Trouble Ramones Thin Lizzy ELO Cheap Trick
  6. You were obviously close. (I can assure you I wouldn't have sent my old man to Italy unless I knew he would stay there.) T&Ps.
  7. Can we assume that "blue crap" is spoiled haggis?
  8. I like Aldi pretty well. My regular pickups include milk, butter, cheeses and other dairy products, potato chips, mustards and other condiments, chocolates, ice cream bars, fruits and veggies, plastic storage bags, canned goods, white chunk tuna, nuts, crackers, and lots of other stuff. I couldn't shop there exclusively but it's worth hitting once a week.I usually go when I need milk, ($1.84/gal).
  9. Eater Houston's picks. 22 Essential Galveston Restaurants
  10. Do you cook your rice in the IP first? Obligatory "First you have to pick out the stems and seeds" joke.
  11. Not to derail too much from Barbie's GBF, but I used to work with a pretty serious fisherman who kept a Pocket Fisherman in his glove box. He was known to stop next to any old bayou, creek or golf course water hazard to wet a hook. He had bought a dozen of 'em so he'd never run out. Crazy old coot.
  12. In addition to many already mentioned: Mao's Little Red Book Gilgamesh Democracy in America Hamlet Emancipation Proclamation I Have a Dream Speech Reagan's Speech at the Berlin Wall
  13. When we are introduced at a tailgate, don't bother sticking your hand out. I aint shaking it.
  14. Oh snap! (Wait. We don't say that anymore, do we?)
  15. Probably La Rancherita. My favorite tortillas rustica. A few blocks west of Alamo. 😉
  16. Shit! Thx. Here's a Yelp page; I didn't find a stand alone website. Gerardo's
  17. Back when I was a kid we called 'em "Strikeouts". Now they call 'em "Jakes".
  18. My favorites are from Alamo on Berry, hand-rolled of course. They reheat pretty well, but I always grab a table and some of their killer salsa and have a couple on the spot. A close second are Gerardo's. The neon orange habanero salsa is delicious, and their barbacoa is famous. Dona Tera has their fans, but I find them way too masa heavy. I think Texas Tamale Company is too pretentious. Tamales are peasant food and up-scaling them ruins them. Goode Company Seafood makes Seafood Tamales that are pretty good. (Yeah, I get the irony given the preceding comment.) Lastly, I really enjoyed the Mississippi Delta style tamales at Good Ole Boys in Katy. Wrapped in foil sheets instead of corn husks and seasoned with typical Cajun spices, they're unique in these parts. (I'm not seeing them on the menu but ask for Jay and tell him Doobie sent you.) 😉
