  1. You have to pay taxes on Amazon purchases in Texas because they have s physical presence here in the form of a huge distribution facility. That's been the standard. As noted above its been the policy that the consumer was obligated to voluntarily pay sales tax to the proper taxing entities. Of course no one does. The policy was set when internet sales were very modest and it wasn't worth the effort. Its been a while tho. The truth is, this policy change is waaaaaaay overdue. I think there are some sales thresholds though so that some guy selling a cd on "the eBay" won't be affected.

  3. Team Spatchcock. (Save backbone in freezer for stock.) Make a paste with olive oil and/or butter, and your choice of herbs and spices. (Paprika, garlic, pepper, lemon juice, thyme, curry powder, etc, and always salt.) Gently lift the skin away from the meat and rub the paste under the skin. It take four applications - one for each breast and each thigh. Rub remaining paste or just olive oil over the top AND bottom and roast at 450' until done, (About 40-50 minutes depending on size of your bird). Serve with choice of sides. Make chicken salad or tacos with the leftovers.

  12. I like Aldi pretty well. My regular pickups include milk, butter, cheeses and other dairy products, potato chips, mustards and other condiments, chocolates, ice cream bars, fruits and veggies, plastic storage bags, canned goods, white chunk tuna, nuts, crackers, and lots of other stuff. I couldn't shop there exclusively but it's worth hitting once a week.I usually go when I need milk, ($1.84/gal).

  15. Not to derail too much from Barbie's GBF, but I used to work with a pretty serious fisherman who kept a Pocket Fisherman in his glove box. He was known to stop next to any old bayou, creek or golf course water hazard to wet a hook. He had bought a dozen of 'em so he'd never run out. Crazy old coot.
