  1. Please. Stunns38. The correct nomenclature is "Lesbians at TCU." Thanks.
  2. I mean, who am I supposed to believe? You... Or Ted, Noel, Sammy, and especially Alex? That's what ate Ed up so much.
  3. It depends, seriously. Muhammad Ali was always talking himself up... it wasn't arrogance; it was part of the show. Deion Sanders, while he had minor flaws, wasn't talking himself up for nothing. All part of the show.
  4. Talking yourself up isn't the issue. Some things require it for marketing and visibility. A little self-PR can go a long way. Nobody will see the work I do if I don't yell about it; you only notice it when I fuck up.
  5. I used to think that Helo wasn't a bit; that he was just stupid. Now I'm convinced that this is a bit. I refuse to believe that anyone can be this stupid.
  6. Humility correlates strongly WITH confidence. "Confidence" without humility is Arrogance: A way to hide self-doubt by puffing yourself up.
  7. also, this paragraph needs to be humanely destroyed... more or less. This is what happens when I Surly before I've had my coffee.
  8. We don't really have to pretend that. 😁
  9. Oh, and at least according to Alex, he's stayed sober. It's a point of emphasis for him that Ed was not able to.
  10. It's complicated. tldr, Sammy's a guy I'd share a bottle with, but not someone I'd go into business with. Alex and Ted disagree on this. Ted thinks that Sammy ultimately broke up Van Halen; Ted thinks he could've gotten the band back together if Sammy hadn't gotten involved. Alex instead thinks the breakup was a long time in coming, something that had built up over years. Ted and Noel blame Dave for going off and doing his own things; Alex actually blames Ed for doing "Thriller" before that. It's really complicated. But yeah, by simply never mentioning Sammy or the Sammy years, I think Alex says more than if he'd written chapters on the topic. Mike and Sammy remain friends, and Mike more or less got screwed by the brothers, so I see why Mike has more or less taken Sammy's side on things. But pretty much everyone else, oddly enough INCLUDING Sammy, says that it was Dave that more or less made that band successful. Ed would otherwise likely have been this guy that guitar guys knew about, like Yngwie or Vai, and not the massive household name they became. In general, Sammy says things that are often easily disproved, and that casts doubt on the rest of what he says, especially when literally everyone else is saying other things. It's a mess.
  11. Van Halen was the best thing to ever happen to Sammy Hagar. Sammy Hagar was the worst thing to ever happen to Van Halen. I've read Alex's book now. I barfed up my review on Amazon if you wanna read it. Acquired and finished it the day it was released. Alex mentions that he still talks to DLR all the time. Sammy? Barely even mentioned.
  12. I had to go look up which Pink Floyd star was the psychotic dipshit asshole to make sure I can be happy about this. (It's Roger Waters.)
  13. I'd drive ANY car with 1977 Sally Field shotgun.
  14. It's about when the call happens more than anything else. Did the call affect the game? Was it consistent with how the game was being called before that? That's what makes the calls against Utah fishy. They were against how the game had been called, and were at a few moments that would've sealed the win for Utah. And we've seen this crew pull this same stunt before. We KNOW what's up.
  15. No, Mar excels at his job. The trouble is, you seem to think his job is to call games fairly. Mar knows his job is to serve the conference who employs him. These calls are too perfectly timed to merely be called incompetence. His salary.
  16. This thread is getting dangerously off-topic.
  17. I wouldn't be surprised if one or more of Saban's Bama teams surpassed it, but that's the model. Sark and NIL have been very, very good for Texas football.
  18. https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/richard-gere-gerbil/ I get irrationally annoyed whenever this rumor is spread. I owe Gere nothing and I have no chance of changing the world here; it just bugs me for no particular reason.
  19. I know you're joking, but a while back someone did an analysis of which statistics correlared the most with wins. The top 2 were: 1. Defensive scoring (aka the Royal was Right, you don't lose many games if your opponent doesn't score stat) 2. QB turnovers. Even if your QB is otherwise shit, if he doesn't fumble or throw picks, you're gonna win games. Because he needs a good secondary coach to pair with to field a top tier D. At UW he had that guy. This year he's got that guy from Arizona. ALSO our defense is stacked this year like none we've seen since ... I don't even know when. Even our 2005/2008 defenses had their flaws in the starters (though the depth at DB in 05 and DT in 08 were stupid good). This year we have NFL guys at every position, PLUS depth. That said, this defense does fuck hard.
  20. Incorrectly regarded as a mistake: The stormtroopers are missing the heroes on purpose. Actually a mistake: gestures at most of the dialogue Furthering a mistake: Adding the Jabba scene back in (it adds nothing and destroys the pacing of that act); Greedo shooting anything other second (changes the character of Han).
