  1. I thought the same thing. No sleeping was involved, I'd wager. you slut
  2. i have the sudden uncontrollable urge to tag @South Austin and i don't know why
  3. And she votes.
  4. Well, Bond had a great run.
  5. She seems like fun. Would This is actually a pretty standard way to reset your car's ECU. I was getting my son's new truck fixed up and smog checked (yes, we know, the seller is supposed to do that, but they're neighbors; we're square) and the shop accidentally forgot to reattach something (it happens, they owned it; we're square) and to clear the check engine light, that's what I had to do. Oh, and you have to have at least a quarter of a tank when you do it.
  6. First, no, I'm telling you what Verhoeven thought of it and what he made the movie about. Second, I haven't read Mein Kampf nor Das Kapital, either; do I have to to know what they promote?
  7. Look, if you're going to hire Charlie's Angels, why are you having one of them drive? You can afford another driver.
  8. Rufus Harris. "Destructive Back." I remember a bunch of us mouth-breathers being SO hyped after he called himself that. Boring: https://stats.texassports.com/custompages/sports/m-footbl/archive/stats/02/plyr0020.htm Instead he was passed over by a bunch of complete scrubs like Cedric Griffin, Michael Huff, etc. Too bad our secondary in that era was so meh, we could've used a guy like that. With any decent kind of DBs we might've won a national title!

    Whatcha reading?

    Same. Agreed. Cat.
  10. Wanted to see him stay his senior year, and do a bit better in the NFL than he did.
  11. Even those who are upset, they aren't upset With Him. Like the North Koreans who blame the damn Americans every time there's a food shortage or power outage, rather than the numbskulls who are actually running the country into the ground, they are forever on his team.
  12. I'm hearing a handful of anecdotes, that hopeful folks are sharing ad nauseam, about how people are regretting their votes for Trump. But this is the reality. The majority is happy with this. We're so fucked.
  13. It does. But I kinda get bored after that. 😞
  14. Lacuna Coil's latest album has some good stuff. "Scarecrow" has Scabbia doing some great high notes, and I like the last track on the album. They're still slamming the limiter with the mixes like it was 20 years ago still, though, so it's tiring and dull to hear after a while. And the band outside of Scabbia is pretty mid, though I like their harmonies. You know, that's why she's so short; from carrying that whole band for all these years... They got an appearance from Randy Blythe on a track. I know this because I read the liner notes, not because I can tell one guy's death growl from another. On that note, Lamb of God is exactly the kind of band I'd love if I'd been paying any kind of attention to anything outside of career and family between 2000-2010. I need to do a deep dive into their catalog.
  15. eh, brickhorn beat me to the joke
  16. Yeah, having a driver isn't something I'm doing until I'm infirm.
  17. It's pretty close to a direct quote from Verhoeven himself. And while I've not read that particular novel, I've read more Heinlein than I ever care to. He's the sort of author that guys who drive Camaros around the nearby high school trying to pick up freshmen think is a deep intellectual. He was a pulp author cursed to have to justify the sex and violence; a victim of the golden age, whose transparent fallacies are obvious to everyone else but him. Well, him, and the pseudo-intellectuals who feel they've found the rationalizations to justify their own base feelings. The only reason I don't have a lower opinion of Heinlein than Hubbard or Ayn Rand is, unlike those two, he never created a dangerous cult.
