  1. I like it because it's 0.5mm thick, easily grabbed, and the texture on it kinda scrapes the strings in a very pleasant way when the gain is up
  2. But seriously: Drawing a direct connection between viewership numbers and "what the people want" is the same kind of lazy thinking that got us, say, Episode 9. Andor's low viewership had more to do with Disney having delivered a lot of very disappointing Star Wars shows in a row than people not wanting more of that. At the time it aired, people were fed up with Disney's Star Wars, and weren't going to give Andor a shot no matter how good the reviews were. You see the same thing with Solo -- was it a great movie? No, but it was a very good movie, set up some interesting story lines, but was killed by people boycotting Star Wars after Episode 8. (See below.) And Solo is a great comparison, because now that time has passed, a lot of people who are otherwise bored are suddenly watching it for the first time, and saying, "Hey... this movie was a lot of fun! Why did everyone hate it so much?" Well, they didn't hate it -- those who actually bothered to watch the damn movie. Nearly all of the hate was from people who didn't, and never were, going to see it. Now that time has passed, people are watching it again and saying, "Hey, why don't we get more things like this?" Well, the answer is because you didn't go watch the good things. I mean, the same thing happened with Rogue One, too. In retrospect, a decent portion of the fan base considers it the best Star Wars movie period, and almost no one considers it anything less than very, very good. Is it as good without Vader vamping it up for a half minute and going hack and slash for another minute? Naw, but he ain't the focus of the show. If you just go by how many people watched it, you miss how much they enjoyed it. I mean... by that logic, we should have more things like Episode 9. 60 million tickets were sold to that: And then there's Episode VII. Do all those ticket sales reflect that people want more remakes of Star Wars, just with a different cast? FUCK no, man! In short: You can't just draw a direct relationship between how many people watched a thing and "This is what they want." Anyway.
  3. meh ask again in a few years people hated Empire Strikes Back when it first came out, too
  4. You're gonna have to link me a source because I don't follow that shit.
  5. The greatest guitar pick I've ever used... isn't a guitar pick at all. https://www.ifixit.com/products/ifixit-opening-picks-set-of-6 Awful expensive for a pick tho.
  6. Or Sony. I'm still mad tho
  7. Bullshit. The BEST thing Disney has done with Star Wars was Andor, by far, and there's not a lightsaber or OG character to be seen. We're 100% behind new stories THAT DO NOT SUCK ASS. I personally am behind every gender and sexual expression there is, IF THE STORY DOESN'T SUCK ASS. I can even handle mostly bad writing. Gestures wildly in the general direction of "El Goonish Shive" Get someone with a writing talent above a third grader, why don'tcha. Is finding good writing talent hard? No. FUCK no. But you aren't going to find them if you're hiring based on... whatever process was behind hiring the Acolyte's writer.
  8. hey fuck you man 🤣🤣🤣

Ewers made throws this year - multiple throws - that were better than anything I've seen any QB in burnt orange throw, going all the way back to the Gardere days when I started watching. He also looked really bad after his injury. Even then, he was still making amazing throws into tight windows.

the Purdue offense which really isn't much football at all when most drives end in a 3-and-out, or less...

jesus f christ, first pass is a dime that the wr (Klare) just drops, right in his hands. commentator "can't throw the football any more accurately" Second pass is an airball over the WR's head. Third pass is a big-time throw with a DL in his face for a big play that the wr actually caught (Georgia transfer CJ Smith with the reception) Pass #4, another dime to Tibbs, another 1st down Pass #5, a bit low but the WR (same guy who dropped first pass) makes a great play for a 1st down Runs for it and gains 1 on the next play. Meh. 2nd-string QB Browne steps in for the 3rd & 4th offensive drives. 3 & out, TO on downs. Card comes back in and has a dime to nearly convert a 2nd and 12, and a big throw up the middle (Klare, again) for a big 1st down gain, then another 15 yards to (again) Klare, then another 15-yard gain to Tibbs. My cat has started watching with me. Next throw is a bit out of the WR's reach (Klare). Deep ball for the EZ broken up by the DB. 3rd & 10, runs for 9. Converts 4th with a great throw to Tibbs. 1st & Goal. Airball on 1st & Goal that negates what would've been DPI if it had been anything remotely near catchable. Second legit miss by Card all game. 2nd & Goal, under pressure, WR steps out of the back of the EZ, incomplete. 3rd & Goal, easy pitch & catch for a rare Purdue TD. Halftime So that's just a half, but... yeah, Purdue's coach is ass, their team is ass, Card actually can make good throws and shows good pocket presence and mobility, often when under pressure because his OL is asstastic. Most incompletions I'm seeing are because the WRs have stone hands.

you know, the last time a big-time austin recruit went to purdue, it didn't look as good for Texas y'know? but that guy was westlake iirc

OK, let's do Michigan State. The game before. Purdue actually put up 17 points. Card was 26-47 TD INT and 3 sacks.

So get this. I got YouTubeTV, right? You can just say "record all NCAA football games" and...that's it. You got 'em all. Also, the time it takes -- if you skip all the commercials, stoppages, etc by hitting the "L" key to skip ahead 15 seconds -- to watch just the plays of any given game is about 15 minutes. And if you're skipping all of the other team's plays... it's less.

Nevermind. Card wasn't starting this game. LOL

Gonna watch the Illinois game, now. This was Purdue's best game all year, taking a top-25 team into OT, as opposed to the beat-downs they had in pretty much every other game all year.
  17. Yep. Nobody's gonna tell our current staff, with their reputation, "No can do; I'm sending my best kids to A&M." Heh. I'm laughing just thinking about it.
  18. you make it sound as easy as Arch makes it look but it' snot
  19. The play at 0:20 is unreal. Just... how.
  20. My God, that's half a Cosby's worth.

I watched the first half of the Purdue-Indiana game, because Card was benched after that. I'm not sure why Purdue's coach made that choice, because in the few drives I saw, his replacement was complete ass, including fumbling a handoff on the first play from scrimmage in the second half. Card himself... was fine. Other than one errant throw near the end of the first half, most of his passes were generally on-target and well-thrown. He did have an INT that was more of a great play by an Indiana LB (and a ton of pressure from the DL) than anything he did wrong. Most of Purdue's failures on offense were due to receivers dropping very catchable balls, getting behind the sticks after failed running plays and painful drive-killing penalties. Purdue is terrible overall. But Card looks like a pretty decent QB now.
