OK, observations I made during the game.
GOOD
We won. Yay
Ewers did some good things I didn't see the past two weeks
Stepped up in the pocket once when he should've
One really accurate throw to Helm
Converted 3rd and 20 (fucking holding)
13 yard completion to Wingo on 2nd and 23 (fucking holding)
We avoided 3rd and long mostly (fucking holding) and converted 3rd downs!
Wisner no longer looked like a 4th string RB like he did last week
and Blue did not fumble
Our defense played great yet again
The first tip for an int
motherfuckin' Taafe!
motherfuckin' Lefau!
Special teams answered the bell all game long
BAD
The list of things Ewers did well under "GOOD" above were not indicative of most of his day; still slow and indecisive
By the 4th quarter, 2 TOs for them resulted in 14 points; 2 TOs for us resulted in 0. (Yes we added a measly FG off a TO in the 4th)
Defense (after playing great all day) on Vanderbilt's 2 minute drill was giving up too much too often.
UGLY
Penalties killing us yet again. Awful.
The second-worst sacking D in the SEC got sacks and pressure all day. Something is terribly wrong there.
Broadcasters showing stupid statistics like "record against Top 5 teams" and making dumb comments like "pass targeted #19" when it was clearly Wingo, #5.
Ugly would've been a much longer list if we'd lost. We have to win to continue to control our own destiny.
That's a really good Vanderbilt team, there, and we successfully closed the Circle of Suck with Georgia and Alabama with the win.
