jesus f christ, first pass is a dime that the wr (Klare) just drops, right in his hands. commentator "can't throw the football any more accurately" Second pass is an airball over the WR's head. Third pass is a big-time throw with a DL in his face for a big play that the wr actually caught (Georgia transfer CJ Smith with the reception) Pass #4, another dime to Tibbs, another 1st down Pass #5, a bit low but the WR (same guy who dropped first pass) makes a great play for a 1st down Runs for it and gains 1 on the next play. Meh. 2nd-string QB Browne steps in for the 3rd & 4th offensive drives. 3 & out, TO on downs. Card comes back in and has a dime to nearly convert a 2nd and 12, and a big throw up the middle (Klare, again) for a big 1st down gain, then another 15 yards to (again) Klare, then another 15-yard gain to Tibbs. My cat has started watching with me. Next throw is a bit out of the WR's reach (Klare). Deep ball for the EZ broken up by the DB. 3rd & 10, runs for 9. Converts 4th with a great throw to Tibbs. 1st & Goal. Airball on 1st & Goal that negates what would've been DPI if it had been anything remotely near catchable. Second legit miss by Card all game. 2nd & Goal, under pressure, WR steps out of the back of the EZ, incomplete. 3rd & Goal, easy pitch & catch for a rare Purdue TD. Halftime So that's just a half, but... yeah, Purdue's coach is ass, their team is ass, Card actually can make good throws and shows good pocket presence and mobility, often when under pressure because his OL is asstastic. Most incompletions I'm seeing are because the WRs have stone hands.

you know, the last time a big-time austin recruit went to purdue, it didn't look as good for Texas y'know? but that guy was westlake iirc

OK, let's do Michigan State. The game before. Purdue actually put up 17 points. Card was 26-47 TD INT and 3 sacks.

So get this. I got YouTubeTV, right? You can just say "record all NCAA football games" and...that's it. You got 'em all. Also, the time it takes -- if you skip all the commercials, stoppages, etc by hitting the "L" key to skip ahead 15 seconds -- to watch just the plays of any given game is about 15 minutes. And if you're skipping all of the other team's plays... it's less.

Nevermind. Card wasn't starting this game. LOL

Gonna watch the Illinois game, now. This was Purdue's best game all year, taking a top-25 team into OT, as opposed to the beat-downs they had in pretty much every other game all year.
  7. Yep. Nobody's gonna tell our current staff, with their reputation, "No can do; I'm sending my best kids to A&M." Heh. I'm laughing just thinking about it.
  8. you make it sound as easy as Arch makes it look but it' snot
  9. The play at 0:20 is unreal. Just... how.
  10. My God, that's half a Cosby's worth.

I watched the first half of the Purdue-Indiana game, because Card was benched after that. I'm not sure why Purdue's coach made that choice, because in the few drives I saw, his replacement was complete ass, including fumbling a handoff on the first play from scrimmage in the second half. Card himself... was fine. Other than one errant throw near the end of the first half, most of his passes were generally on-target and well-thrown. He did have an INT that was more of a great play by an Indiana LB (and a ton of pressure from the DL) than anything he did wrong. Most of Purdue's failures on offense were due to receivers dropping very catchable balls, getting behind the sticks after failed running plays and painful drive-killing penalties. Purdue is terrible overall. But Card looks like a pretty decent QB now.
  12. i think you misunderstood what I was asking I'm asking if hs coaches being upset at Texas recruiting OOS was a thing
  13. We had a walk-on turn All-American this year. It's amazing what a staff who can recruit AND develop talent can do.
  14. I was, and still am, the other way around. Proportionally, I'm built as if you're looking up at me. Super long legs, a torso too small to hold on all my internal organs without a belly popping out (even when I was scrawny, I had a gut) and a wee itty bitty head. (To make it truly Surly: The only gal I was able to comfortably 69 was under 5 feet tall. Everyone else was too long.) Not only was I skinny, I was small for my age up until high school, where my legs finally pushed the rest of me up to average height. Even in undergrad, me and my gang would head out to the County Line and order all you can eat. They were 240, 260, and 280 lbs; I was (as mentioned) 125. One night we each ate a full platter each. I was eating as much as they were... couldn't gain weight. Just a stupid fast metabolism that wouldn't let me gain fat NOR muscle until my mid 20s. I never had trouble hitting people and my love of the mosh pit proves that. But I would've died on a high school football field.
  15. I think in many cases (don't know if it's true here), they are who they were before they were famous. And once you're surrounded by people telling you how great you are and you have tons of money, it gets even harder to change.
  16. ☝️ I'd made the same comment someone else did before I'd caught up, so nnm gave the same response. Because that's what "obligatory" means. Also ... why would you complain?
  17. this one wasn't bad, either her movies were tho
  18. you obviously never watched Wonder Woman and her invisible jet
  19. ... she hip-threw an OL once, pulling wrestling moves on em... 🤣
  20. The first trans woman I knew was a defensive end and California State champion heavyweight wrestler in high school, so what you're saying doesn't really jibe with my experience. I later lived across the street from the linebacker who forced the fumble that led to Colorado State's huge upset of Arizona back in the early 90's, and he thought I could've played, too; I had to explain to him that I didn't fill out my frame until I was 26 years old. Me in high school was not what you'd expect to see on a football field. Devastatingly sexy, though.
  21. are you fucking kidding me I lettered three times: band, orchestra, and computers i ranked at the national Latin convention you think a pencil necked 125 pounds soaking wet NERD like me ever played football?
