  1. Nonsense. You can compare them all you want! Let's see. They're both male humans. They've both held head football coaching jobs. That alone makes them more like each other than they are like most folks. Practically twins, on a global scale. ummmmmmm uhhh Got nothing else
  2. Goff'd up the football again.
  3. What? The refs were calling his name all the time!
  4. I love the random quotes at the top of the comic too. You can click on 'em and pull up a new one.
  5. I have very clear feelings about the missed PAT.
  6. I have mixed feelings about the TD.
  7. Slightly NSFW https://oglaf.com/housework/ 👈 Some are safe; most are NSFW
  8. because it's a badass song
  9. One of my favorite moments of the Sark era so far. Oh, pardon the multiquote longcat; I'm on the road between Merced and San Diego and posting on my break before heading into the stink-ass smoky nightmare of LA. i don't remember why i quoted this, and the mobile interface doesn't let me delete quotes. Anyway Orakpo's senior year started the trend of Big XII officials never calling holding against Texas' opponents. He was held, sometimes awfully, on every play. It was almost understandable, because he would've killed about 3 QBs if they hadn't. Yep. Especially where Texas is concerned. You're too cheap. Semifinals Steve What's stupider; what he says, or people failing to put him on ignore KNOWING he's going to say stupid things?
  10. because nobody would insult Pardee that way, right? ... right???
  11. 100%
  12. great seats, eh buddy? HEY HE MISSED THE TAG! HE MISSED THE TAG!
  13. this is also very true dunno why it is, but it is (Wolfgang Van Halen is a notable exception, but then... his dad was Edward Van Fucking Halen)
  14. 100% private instruction. Private teachers cover details of a specific instrument that the school director doesn't have time for, possibly doesn't even know, unless it's an instrument they themselves studied. In particular: - Skill building exercises, where most of your ability to play better comes from - translating notes on the page into what you do on that particular instrument - hardware; how to maintain the instrument, how to purchase parts or a new one - developing a solo repertoire - how to practice In general, the belief that you should practice hours per day is, in my mind, misguided. Better to practice briefly, but focused, each day for 15 minutes or so.
  15. i like the new Dunes, but I like this one, too, warts and all
  16. ND's like polio, right? You think it's down and gone for good, because it's just been so long and times are changing. So suddenly people stop vaccinating because we really gotta worry about these other more modern times now... next thing you know, 17% of kids don't survive until middle school and a good fraction of those are crippled. Ohio State's a juggernaut until the Day they aren't. One can only lose so many games to one's biggest rival before the masses get antsy... And... Let's be clear here. We're definitely choosing between couch burners/wife beaters and a school backed by an organization that looks at Sandusky and sneers at his small-time amateurism.
  17. Yes. With ND, it's not the actual alumni you have to worry about. It's about the millions of fans they have who never went there, and NBC carrying the torch of what they see as the premium brand in the sport. We have enjoyed a couple of happy decades where Notre Dame hasn't been relevant. But if you think for one minute that Notre Dame can't charge right back up that mountain, academic standards or not... You need Notre Dame to lose, whether you know it or not.
  18. or, NIU is even more Christ like, ya know?
