  2. Your in-laws seem pretty cool. Yeah, now see, this is what I mean: Guitar and pickup quality only seems to matter if you're not driving the gain up to metal levels. And on that second video, you can hear the compression kicking in on the EMG; hey, how 'bout you adjust the recording level down a bit so we can hear the EMG's without the added compression? Meanwhile, SF author John Scalzi is one of you: https://www.threads.net/@jscalzi/post/C9LmAbLMe6e?xmt=AQGzjlrHRo6hr63jabywUVGj2lWekH1uIuMHA9CyHVj3dQ "I was walking down the street and it followed me home. Can I keep it?"
  3. no i never remember saying, or even thinking, that losing Bo was gonna hurt. anytime who thought otherwise was a dumbass
  4. will fap enough for both of us
  5. Oh, and the White Star also features in the most badass scene in any SF TV show series ever. To set the stage: Babylon 5 has declared independence from Earth, after the Earth VP has murdered the President, taken over, and declared Martial Law. Babylon 5 has fought valiantly, but reinforcements from Earth have arrived, and they know it's all over. And then this happens.
  6. LO fucking L. J Michael Straczynski comes up to Paramount with this idea for a space station-themed series. They reject it. Right around the time Babylon 5 launches... Paramount also launches their own space-station themed TV series. All the best ideas of DS9 were stolen straight from Babylon 5. Lemme introduce you to the White Star. Same corvette-class attack ship, but imagine it being built using technology mixed in with the biotech of a species that is at or near Q Continuum-level. It is faster, more maneuverable, features adaptive shielding, and a massive main gun. And it looks better. AND there's a whole fleet of them, because the bad guys also have technology from a near-Q-Continuum-Level species "I'm the boot that's gonna kick your sorry ass all the way back to Earth space. I am Death incarnate. And the last living thing that you are ever going to see. God sent me."
  7. This is actually a pretty good analogy. We didn't have a contemporary model to follow when we were more or less inventing democracy on a national level. We've been able to patch update the Constitution from time to time, and that's kept things from falling apart. There's a French lady in my church who's going to be pretty happy today. She was absolutely terrified of what might happen.
  8. The color actually held up for a long time. 10 years in the SoCal sun and it still looked gorgeous. The only reason my cars since that one haven't been yellow (or orange, TBH) is that the cars I've picked haven't come in that color. Tempted to repaint the Accord though. Or get a wrap.
  9. Yep. That's basically the same thing I had, an '03 model. And here's that color: Photo doesn't do the color justice. Edit: Probably because this photo was about 9 years into my 10 years' worth of driving it and parking it outside.
  10. Subaru was ahead of the times with the WRX. this is so Yeah, but I finally got one of my own, the same thing every kid growing up in the 80s had on a poster on their wall: Better than the real thing: Less expensive, easy to maintain, built to last. Had an '03 WRX wagon in "Sonic Yellow" and I LOVED that color. On cloudy days, it was like there was a single ray of sunlight, shining just on that car. And in crowded parking lots, your eyes would move to look at it before your brain would think, "Ok, where's my car?" Definitely avoided a couple of accidents because the color would draw people's attention even when they were tired or otherwise wouldn't have noticed it.
  11. Anyone asking for Biden to drop out now needs their head examined.
  12. That seems like a pretty difficult challenge to pull off successfully.
  13. ahhh so Gear Acquisition Syndrome is a thing https://medium.com/@danllerena59/the-psychology-behind-gear-acquisition-syndrome-459cce25967a
  14. Well, yeah, because (like the random redditor said) this isn't really a TV series, it's a movie they broke up into 33 minute chunks. I'm gonna wait until the rest of the series is out, then finish it.
  15. Somebody mentioned that this isn't so much a TV show as a single movie that's being released in bits. I fell behind and watched the last two episodes back to back, and it worked better that way.
