  1. was referring to the twitter thread posted on the previous page that I'm not going to bother to read because the concept is too idiotic to be worth my limited remaining time on this planet
  2. i find the idea that Cannon is delaying Trump's trial due to executing a brilliant plan brilliantly to be... dubious She's an idiot in the impossible position of having to treat her criminal hero fairly.
  3. One of the sites I like (killsixbilliondemons.com) is hosted by NixiHost, whose servers are in the DFW area. They were also out this morning, but are back up now.
  4. I DID research it before I watched it, after my son insisted we watch it together. All I saw was that it was by the same crew who did Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, and I was on board. Absolutely great movie.
  5. My Dad bought me a Breville Bambino for Christmas of '22 and it has been my life ever since. I would've never bought one for myself, since I thought that was too much to pay. In hindsight? Absolutely worth every penny.
  6. Not only are people killing themselves over social media/message board shit, it's basically one of the top contributors to teenage depression and suicide. e.g. https://www.npr.org/2023/02/16/1157180971/10-things-to-know-about-how-social-media-affects-teens-brains I myself missed the whole Loree suicide thing because I was taking a self-imposed break from Hornfans before it happened. I literally scrambled my password so I couldn't log in again, and only found out about Loree later.
  7. You basically tweak it until you get what you want. Lighter roast beans: Grassier, but more natural coffee flavor (and more caffeine). Darker roast, more burnt flavor, less caffeine. Grind size: For drip, espresso, etc, affects how long the water stays in contact with the grounds. Longer brew time, more bitter; shorter brew time, more sour. And if it's too weak, use more grounds! I was that way until some time working from a WeWork got me addicted to Americanos. I find the espresso cup much easier to clean than the French press, too.
  8. Seems to have turned out ok. guess how I know you commented on this thread without reading the AMA
  9. he then asked me for the cliffs notes of it hahaha
  10. In case you missed it, he was answering questions for hours, and the answers are fascinating and hilarious. Among other things, lent support to @closetojumping's Warihme shitting story.
  11. that article is AI-generated garbage and is rightly being called so by the comments
  12. it's this piece of shit: Yamaha Pacifica Series PAC012DLX Electric Guitar; Old Violin Sunburst https://a.co/d/59mLRwq Just cheap enough the wife won't get mad; just good enough to lay down some nice cheap distorted riffs when I need em in my mix.
  13. Nope. Bare ass cheap $220 (new) version. If I need more than that, I'll will the lottery first. And yeah, I get being a Yamaha stan. Whatever they're doing, they're doing it right. Son's first trumpet was a cheap Yamaha; sounded great.
  14. Giving up all you have for those you love is just basic. Good means you'll help even those who are outside of your family, peer group, company, etc.
  15. I have all these guitar VSTs I've built up over the years that came with other equipment or DAWs I'd night, but never had a guitar to actually use with them. So I just grabbed a Yamaha Pacifica. Just to play with the software amps.
  16. 100% dead serious. I have literally never heard it until now, and only because it was in the NYTimes Connections puzzle for today, and then only because my son told me that was the answer. My son started referencing hip-hop songs, so maybe that's the deal. I never listened to hip-hop. I can count on one hand the hip-hop tunes I listen to now and then.
  17. ok, dumb question ... since when is a car been called a "whip?" I have never heard this term, but my son insists it's been around since the 90s
  18. Neither did Goebbels. Nazi is how you act, not a fashion choice.
  19. What astonishes me isn't the tone, but just how bad most of them are. Even the ones that might be useful, the sales pitches suck. Being more persistent isn't going to help your cause. Some asshole tried to do something like "of the Milwaukee Bucs win in the tournament, I'll get you a deal!" 1. I don't give a rat's ass about the NBA 2. I don't now, nor ever have, lived near Milwaukee, and TJ Ford retired It gets worse right after the it's press releases for new funding go out. Look, bitches, that money's going to therapists and to keep the lights on, it's not open season on Rimbo buying new SaaS products. Cold calls, email, LinkedIn spam. LinkedIn's the easiest to deal with, since I'm only "friends" with people I've actually worked with; they come in as new contact requests and I ignore them. But yeah, @jimmyjazz, welcome to engineering management, and the saas spam firehose!
  20. Well, a loudmouthed idiotic part of America has, and the rest of America is in denial.
  21. https://www.threads.net/@joebiden/post/C7PpoGUJVDN "This was on his official account? Wow..."
