  1. You think the decision wasn't already made prior to last night? Like, the dumbass rumor that "whoever loses will be the new hire" were real? Think about how stupid that sounds. Whether it's Schloss or Vitello, last night's game didn't have any bearing on the decision.
  2. So yeah, uh, there was a slight mixup, quite silly if you think about it. Schloss and Vitello have the exact same set of luggage, and Schloss accidentally grabbed Vitello's stuff when he left last night and nobody realized until he landed in Austin. CDC, being the classy guy he is, sent the plane to Knoxville to return it.
  3. Meh. He's not a "great" coach, but he's not a bad one either. He can be good somewhere else. But "good" just doesn't cut it here.
  4. Why do people keep saying we're Schloss's rival? Far as I know, he never had any connection to A&M prior to taking the HC gig. Is it stemming from his time at TCU? If so, he coached for like 10 years while A&M was still in the conference also.
  5. As fa as I can tell, they will not have the rights to air any live games, regardless of whether they're broadcast somewhere else or not. Live football statcast is clearly stated as being available, but I'm unsure as to what they mean by "play by play" radio. Is that for all games, all sports (except when there's a conflict between two sports)? Is it just the regular OTA radio broadcasts that have always been available locally (or non-locally with the right app)? That seems most likely to me, but hopefully it's more.
  6. Did they represent everything Texas “A&M” though? Cuz I don’t think I saw that on their jerseys.
  7. We aren’t known for being reckless with contracts. If it’s in that ballpark, that’d almost assuredly be for the entire staff, not just the HC. That could also be the total possible if all performance incentives are met. I don’t have a fucking clue, but I refuse to believe CDC would do something completely out of character like that, even considering all the non-tangible aspects of poaching him from the sheepfuckers. One way or the other, guess we’ll know soon enough if all this is just silly internet gossip. One thing I do believe, without having heard it anywhere other than internet chatter from people I know nothing about, is that Pierce leaked it to Bowels as a final fuck you from both of them.
  8. I don’t think Skip would take the job “in a heartbeat” since he’s well aware of what that clownshow is all about, but I also wouldn’t be surprised if they tried to make him the highest paid coach in the country. That’s the kind of impulsive, irrational decision making they are known for, so I would fully expect it. Then again, if it is Schloss, then you would have to assume they were already unable to counter our offer. So maybe not as much money, but another fully guaranteed contract? I don’t know. I just know I’d hate to see Skip subjected to a future in CS.
  9. They took a team to within one game of a Championship. No idea if they would all come with him if he’s the guy or if he’d be making a few changes/upgrades since I don’t follow Aggy baseball outside of when we played them. As with every staff on every team in every sport, I’m sure there are multiple weak spots
  10. You may be right, but why wasn't it announced days or weeks ago then? Could also be that they wanted to give Pierce a chance to address the team, and also be able to announce the hire at, I don't know, around 9pm this evening? Waiting until today provides the minimum amount of distraction for those still playing. So if it is one of them, it's honoring the request of said new coach.
  11. I believe several folks laughed at the deal on the grounds that the NK artillery might kill more Russians than Ukrainians by malfunctioning
  12. Are these the same helium leaks that were identified on the ground and stated not to be a concern? Or are these totally unrelated helium leaks? What a clusterfuck. Those astronauts have much bigger balls than I.
  13. I don’t get it either. Seems like another thing that the media has just accepted as an actual issue, kinda like the self-pardoning mentioned above. Both of them were on the same side and working towards the same outcome, right? I would absolutely agree it could be a problem if they were on opposing sides of the issue, but that’s not the case here. Who cares if they were banging? Maybe it’s unprofessional, but it’s not illegal afaik, and I don’t see how it has any impact on the legitimacy of the case or the alleged crimes. How does “they were fucking” have any relevance here at all? Is there some underlying issue that I’m missing? Like, they were conspiring together to hide exculpatory evidence or something?
  14. Does any school with a football team also have a reputable culinary program that would even come close to the value of just working in the industry? That doesn’t seem like a skill you really learn in a classroom
  15. I can tell you that a lot of folks around here have plenty to say about Judge Connor. Also, I have litigated a case against that defendant. Don’t believe I’ve crossed paths with his attorney though
  16. This should serve as a good reminder to everyone to really limit your water usage as much as possible December - February. Make sure your irrigation systems are off, don’t fill your pool, don’t wash your cars at home, etc. The water man assumes all water used in those months is going down your pipes
  17. Maybe just bad phrasing, but the section is titled “Right to hold federal office…”
  18. They said he had an exclusivity deal with Nathan’s. Then he signed an agreement with a competitor of Nathan’s. I assume that means the new deal was worth more. Don’t really see how that’s dumb of him. Unless you’re saying Nathan’s is being dumb in which case I’d agree with you. Just say he can’t wear any of their swag during the event. They gave so much more attention to the endorsement by making such a fuss about it. I assume I’ll still watch the competition, but without him it’s not going to be nearly as exciting. I’d imagine they’ll have a noticeable drop in viewership. That probably doesn’t affect their TV contract for a bit, but it might when it’s time to renew
  19. Not that anybody here would ever do something so juvenile and hilarious, but something like "You've been annexed by Aggie Nation. Whoop!" or some such would be entertaining to watch unfold
  20. Geez. An hour to get out? I assume there’s a faster process in case of emergency?
  21. If I was one of them, I don’t think I’d want to get back in as early as tomorrow
  22. This never really got much recognition, but they’ve been saying this all along. What does “Make America Great AGAIN” mean other than “Right now, this country sucks.” If a Democrat ever had that as a slogan, they would’ve been immediately skewered by right wing media and would’ve ultimately lost support of the DNC.
  23. Well, if it were me, and my client was saying things that could be grounds for ineffective assistance of counsel, I’d probably say something like “we called all of the witnesses that the defense team, in agreement with our client, believed provided our strongest case. Anyone that wasn’t called had been determined by us to likely damage our defense and/or bolster the prosecutions case.”
  24. These numbers may still creep up a little more, but for comparison, at this time yesterday they were all running at 0-10 cfs
  25. Finally some good rainfall numbers in the Travis watershed!
