  1. Schooler is not good enough to start on D for this school
  2. How many fucking fastballs can a team swing through?
  3. Also saw the Demon Slayer movie on Friday and it was fantastic. Some breathtaking visuals — they managed to elevate the already excellent animation from the TV series. Would recommend Jujutsu Kaisen to anyone who hasn’t started it. Animation is near on par with Demon Slayer and it’s a superior Shonen overall, IMO.
  4. This season is almost identical to his last year at Dortmund (they finished 7th). Fatigue set in after going full tilt in his system for 5 years and Klopp was never really willing to make tactical changes to combat it. Why we still play such a suicidal high line is beyond me...
  5. Yeah, I think you’re gonna experience something similar through the end of the season. I’ve been reading the manga/watching the anime for 4-5 years now and the go-forward plot for Season 4 (whether it’s a split season or not) is a bit confusing and aimless at times. Gonna ride it through, though!
  6. Super skeptical on how AoT’s manga is gonna wrap up, which is unfortunate considering it’s G.O.A.T. tier stuff through the Marley Invasion. Demon Slayer‘s season was fantastic and I’m about to binge JoJo’s BA: Golden Wind over the next week. Also watched Mob Psycho 1000 all the way through earlier this year and would recommend to anybody.
  7. I’m a huge Fedal fanboy, but Djokovic is starting to put together a total resumé that makes it hard to dispute “GOAT” status. It’s near impossible to compare eras due to court speed, racquet technology variance, etc. but I think Djokovic is the best player of the 21st century when you combine peak with longevity (on top of his all-court variety of accolades). He’s got the most Master 1000’s, the most year-end #1, the second most ATP Finals, the third most majors, and he’s about to break the all-time record for Weeks at #1. He also has a winning record against both Federer and Nadal which are the two challengers of the era. I don’t really care for his style of play, but the dude is just unbelievable.
  8. It feels like we've been pedestrian pretty often since the COVID restart at the end of the last season, so figured I'd look into it. We have 14 wins, 8 draws, and 3 losses since the restart which translates to 50 points in 25 matches. That's a 76-point pace extrapolated over a full season. There's only been one EPL champion with <= 76 points in 28 years. So it is a worrying trend. I just want Klopp to try something different in the midfield for Christ's sake. That, or get players subbed onto the pitch with enough time to actually do something when the writing is on the wall like it was for WBA and Newcastle.
  9. Very Ronaldo-like hat trick by Mo today. He's been one of the only convincing players from start to finish. Minamino needs to start getting some of Bobby's minutes, because his finishing woes are a reality at this point. He has no confidence in front of goal.
  10. I kept my Xbox 360 for the sole purpose of playing Top Spin 4. Such a great game - wish we could get an updated version with the same gameplay & updated player rosters.
  11. Origi should come on for Gini w/ Ox moving back into the midfield.
  12. The 49ers are trying to wind down the clock and the Packers still can't get a stop. This is the Packers in a nutshell in Rodgers' career.
  13. He's not been great, but he's also played on the road all 4 times and been a 7+ point underdog in three of them. He was 8/10 for 93 yards at one point against the Falcons in 2016 and was down 17-0, because his kicker missed a FG and his FB fumbled the ball inside the Atlanta 20. He doesn't play up to his standards (which is annoying), but he also doesn't catch breaks the way plenty of other HoF QBs do by getting carried from time-to-time in big games like this. Brady just won a Super Bowl scoring 13 points last year.
  14. Packers were never quite bad enough to truly rebuild with elite top-end draft talent and it's coming back to bite them in the ass. You can't trot out Davante Adams + 3 UFAs in 11-personnel every possession and expect to win a title. Gute and LaFluer have a lot of work to do. This is the type of shellacking on a national stage that usually gets a coach fired.......except they just overhauled the entire coaching staff.
  15. Packers fan weighing in here: I think it’s a good hire if McCarthy really spent his time away from the game self-scouting and studying new offensive trends, etc. like he claims. The offense definitely grew stale towards the end of his tenure, but he also dealt with a GM who refused to draft offensive skill position talent/sign FAs + a regressing HoF quarterback. With LaFleur at the helm, Rodgers is still exhibiting a lot of his flaws that reared their head during the end of McCarthy’s tenure which tells me it wasn’t 100% his fault the team began to tank.
  16. Glad we took a TO for that abortion of a play and left points on the board.
  17. Our passing game is so goddamn predictable. If Utah is playing man-to-man, why aren’t we running crossers & mesh concepts out of stacked alignments to beat it? Every fucking throw is outside the numbers.
  18. Oof. Thought this one was a miss. Rewatched TFA and TLJ earlier this week and had some appreciation for large sections of both. Just pretty clear that there was no overall story arc in mind when they started this trilogy. It feels like Abrams and Johnson didn’t even talk to each other between movies the way this thing played out. The Death Star crash planet sequence was definitely the highlight for me. The main cast did a great job in the trilogy as a whole; it’s the plotting that let them down a bit.
