  1. Wish we could have seen Ox for 15 or so minutes today. Missed that dude and might not see him in the CL final.
  2. 3rd best point total of all-time and not even the best of this season. Just awful luck and a bad stretch in January/February.
  3. Give credit to City; they went down 0-1 and have ass blasted Brighton ever since while we’ve been struggling to maintain a lead at home for the entire match. Let’s get at least one more to go out on a high.
  4. Sure feels like Wolves have been the better team the last 30+ minutes. Need an adjustment somewhere - haven’t created any clear cut chances since the Robbo laser.
  5. The same people saying this are the same people who are likely silent about Ronaldo scoring 0 goals in the CL Semis & Final last year and still winning the trophy. Or the fact that the only reason he has a Euro title is because they changed the rules for the tournament and allowed a shit 3rd place team who finished behind Hungary and Iceland in their group with 0 W's to still advance to the KO rounds. Then he scored 1 goal in 4 KO matches (against overachieving Wales) and was subbed off inside of 25 minutes in the final against the only juggernaut they faced and his team still won without him. So it's a results driven narrative without actually looking at the process it took to get there. Had Dembele buried that easy chance that Messi set up at the end of the first leg or Coutinho/Suarez/Alba buried any of the three chances he set them up for last night, they might have advanced with a 1 or 2 goal cushion and nobody references the fact that Messi scored zero goals in the second leg because he made the final. If Higuain scores the goal against Germany and they win 1-0, it doesn't matter that Messi didn't score because they got the W. It's all a retrospective narrative based on the result.
  6. Messi put Coutinho, Alba, and Suarez one on one with the keeper in the first half with fantastic passes and Alisson stopped all three. Yeah, he didn’t score but he had two good shots on target (one high corner save by Alisson early and another trying to go five-hole in the second half) and a couple of other rips that drifted wide of post. Yeah, he wasn’t a 10/10 but he was still as solid as ever. He also fed Dembelé a gimme goal at the end of the first leg one on one with Alisson that was muffed. Coutinho has been an absolute disaster for Barcelona. I would have started Malcom over him, at this point. He’s in his own head. They also conceded 4 goals to a team missing 2/3 of their forward line...not Messi’s wheelhouse. Liverpool deserve all the credit for being the aggressor and going balls to the wall in both legs.
  7. Who is the Man of the Match between Origi, Gini, and Alisson???
  8. I was seriously tearing up in the office. This is unreal.
  9. well, that's a bad FK to give up considering it was 1 on 4. just pray that he doesn't put this in the back of the net.
  10. Messi with time on the ball...not a recipe for success.
  11. I could watch Matip dribble through the midfield on repeat all day. Balls of steel on that guy.
  12. Oof. Gini on for Robbo means Milner moves to LB...guessing Sturridge and Brewster are the only two subs left to make?
  13. Agreed. So what's Milner's excuse for being completely invisible in the first half?
  14. Are you gonna blame a guy for not being his best when he hasn't gotten to play in 3 months? How many players get < 100 minutes of game time over 90 days and come on to make a significant impact in their return? It's obvious the front 3 are left to do a lot of improvising because they have no experience playing together and their positioning looks ad hoc at times. Very congested in weird areas.
  15. I've gone from "I hope Suarez breaks both of his legs today" to "I hope Suarez dies today" pretty quickly.
  16. First foul called on Barcelona 36 minutes into the match.
