  1. domination once salah and mane came on. mane wasted some excellent chances so nice to see him get on the scoresheet with the last minute pen. solanke put in a good shift as someone who could hold up the ball for support and played a great through ball to Mane for one of his chances.
  2. You really have to land Fekir now and it seems unlikely we'd let Gini go with that news.
  3. I thought I had read somewhere this morning that Alisson has made it clear to Roma that his preferred destination is Liverpool (at least over Chelsea).
  4. I like Gini for depth, but it's hard to see him getting playing time anywhere in the midfield ahead of Fekir, Keita, Fabinho, Ox, Milner, Lallana, and Hendo. Even Shaqiri might be moved around a bit. Maybe he's pushing for the move for playing time.
  5. Unless they've sped up the courts, I would still say Rafa is the favorite if he's healthy. He almost beat Djoker in his worst conditions (indoor grass) so I'd say he's the favorite at the USO unless Fed regains his 2017 form or Djoker gets better between now and the USO thru playing the American hardcourt tournies. I think Delpo and Cilic can be dangerous for obvious reasons...as far as dark horse candidates go, I'd say Chung? If he could get healthy. He could grind on those courts.
  6. Djokovic only hit 6 baseline winners in a grass final and still won comfortably. Anderson had 24 unforced errors in 569 total points against Isner in the semis and 32 UEs against Djokovic in 174 points. What an underwhelming final.
  7. Djoker still isn’t back to 100% and Rafa had a favorable draw this year. I suppose he could be back if he gets that same fortune, but I think it’s unlikely.
  8. Unfortunate for Rafa to blow those break point opportunities in the 5th. This was probably his last chance for a Wimbledon final. Hopefully Kandy Man takes it tomorrow.
  9. this is a great match. might come down to that mental edge/willpower in the end. break points on break points.
  10. Djokovic's ROS and ability to push points with his defense is just insane. Rafa has to steal this set and get a postponed match in the sun tomorrow to stand a chance or this could be straights. Nadal's 1st serve % right now is just dogshit. Djoker hovering near 80% and Rafa around 60%.
  11. Djoker definitely has an advantage if they close the roof, IMO.
  12. This tennis bores me to hell. This thing has played 90+ more points than Nadal/Del Potro and eclipsed its length and they've covered 10-11K less foot distance throughout the match. I enjoy watching point construction through shot variety and tactical placement. I really don't find 50%+ of points ending in an unreturned serve/limp wristed return interesting.
  13. This servebot tie break set is gonna go on forever and we'll miss the interesting match altogether.
  14. Can't actually contain my excitement at the possibility of Salah/Bobby/Mane up front with a Keita/Fekir/Fabinho midfield w/ Shaqiri as a super sub/rotation guy.
  15. Incredible match. I hope Rafa can recover in time to face the Djoker.
  16. You'd think so, but Rafa's serve is just not good enough on grass to get free points. It's amazing he's done as well as he has considering he has to work for every point he wins from baseline.
  17. DelPo servebot'ing his way to success in this match with 27 aces. Rafa needs to hit to his backhand and approach the net every chance he gets. EDIT: Looks like that's exactly what he's doing in this last game lol.
  18. Karius is Brad Lidge after the Pujols homer. Do not want.
  19. Kyrgios will be dangerous all tournament as long as he's motivated. It's when his first serve % goes down and he starts horsing around in rallies that he loses steam. If he loses the first set against somebody decent, I can see him tanking the match out of frustration. In other news, it looks like just about every successful clay court player outside of Rafa is losing or has lost already today.
  20. christ, the france midfield vs. argentina's midfield is going to be.......interesting.
  21. he just doesn't put a lot of power on it. you've got to be perfect with your placement if you're going to finesse it in, and he's less than perfect on his placement too often.
  22. of course he saves it, lmao
  23. I agree 100%. So I’m mostly wondering how our front office goes from splashing that kind of cash on an injury prone squad rotation guy to hesitating on a guy who is a starting midfielder on the World Cup favorite AFTER we get a shit ton of Champions League cash + a shit ton of Coutinho cash.
