  1. Djoker definitely has an advantage if they close the roof, IMO.
  2. This tennis bores me to hell. This thing has played 90+ more points than Nadal/Del Potro and eclipsed its length and they've covered 10-11K less foot distance throughout the match. I enjoy watching point construction through shot variety and tactical placement. I really don't find 50%+ of points ending in an unreturned serve/limp wristed return interesting.
  3. This servebot tie break set is gonna go on forever and we'll miss the interesting match altogether.
  4. Can't actually contain my excitement at the possibility of Salah/Bobby/Mane up front with a Keita/Fekir/Fabinho midfield w/ Shaqiri as a super sub/rotation guy.
  5. Incredible match. I hope Rafa can recover in time to face the Djoker.
  6. You'd think so, but Rafa's serve is just not good enough on grass to get free points. It's amazing he's done as well as he has considering he has to work for every point he wins from baseline.
  7. DelPo servebot'ing his way to success in this match with 27 aces. Rafa needs to hit to his backhand and approach the net every chance he gets. EDIT: Looks like that's exactly what he's doing in this last game lol.
  8. Karius is Brad Lidge after the Pujols homer. Do not want.
  9. Kyrgios will be dangerous all tournament as long as he's motivated. It's when his first serve % goes down and he starts horsing around in rallies that he loses steam. If he loses the first set against somebody decent, I can see him tanking the match out of frustration. In other news, it looks like just about every successful clay court player outside of Rafa is losing or has lost already today.
  10. christ, the france midfield vs. argentina's midfield is going to be.......interesting.
  11. he just doesn't put a lot of power on it. you've got to be perfect with your placement if you're going to finesse it in, and he's less than perfect on his placement too often.
  12. of course he saves it, lmao
  13. I agree 100%. So I’m mostly wondering how our front office goes from splashing that kind of cash on an injury prone squad rotation guy to hesitating on a guy who is a starting midfielder on the World Cup favorite AFTER we get a shit ton of Champions League cash + a shit ton of Coutinho cash.
  14. I guess we have a different definition of "injury prone". I'm not qualified to read an MRI (obviously), but he's missed 10 games in two years after surgery. I would have expected a calamitous reconstruction surgery would have reared its ugly head in the form of recurring injuries more often over that period of time. Jordan Henderson missed more time than that with an alleged bone bruise on his foot. If we spent that much on a rotation player, then that's worse business in itself. Ox is a borderline XI player depending on who else is healthy at any point in time to me. If Fekir had a freak injury, I'd feel plenty comfortable subbing in Ox for a good length of time.
  15. I guess I'm more disillusioned with our medical staff than most considering the outrageous number of games our entire squad seems to miss every single season. Fekir has missed 10 games in two seasons since his knee surgery. Ox missed 82 games for Arsenal due to various injuries going back to 2012 and cost 73% of what Fekir would allegedly cost with nowhere near the performance history to back it up (and lo and behold, another injury at the end of this season). This is also the second summer in a row that we've had a public transfer debacle in terms of "done deals" where it's widely reported that the player is keen to come here and it's in the works and being reported, etc. only for it to end in blue balls.
  16. “Knee isn’t good”... meanwhile signed Oxlade-Chamberlain for how much $$ last year?
  17. Way to botch the Fekir transfer, Liverpool. Never change.
  18. Rain delays may help Rafa regroup mentally, but wet clay/humid conditions do not favor Rafa and his extreme topspin. I think the best chance of him losing is a humid, overcast day with some light drizzling.
  19. Paul Joyce and James Pearce are about the only two guys that I follow for any useful info. This Mootaz guy apparently also said Lemar was a done deal, so I'd take him with a grain of salt. I have seen rumblings on Twitter about Fekir not being included in the squad for the Italy match, though?
  20. Salah, Fabinho, Keita, and VVD are all ambitious signings which feel like we're attempting to elevate to the next step in annual EPL/CL competitiveness. Butland would be a step back in that regard and seems closer to us settling on a "bargain" player like we have in the past. Allison/Oblak would both show ambition in our quest to stay amongst the top and Fekir likewise. We can go after bargain bin types when it comes to adding depth, but I don't think we should entertain the thought of them when it comes to starting XI places.
  21. Good call lmao. been used to Harlan this postseason. Either way, I've heard more player name mixups and 2 point/3 point shot miscalls in this series than I can remember.
  22. Kevin Harlan is so fucking senile. I swear he screws something up every other possession.
  23. this game is fucking rigged.
  24. Fabinho is official per LFC's official twitter account. What a signing out of nowhere. That's the CDM we need.
