  1. it's because our election laws are designed to make it harder to vote. there really is no other reason
  2. I have yet to vote in a general election where there aren't some down-ballot races that are not party affiliated and if I don't have a reminder of who I chose I won't have a clue. otherwise, yes.
  3. not true. born and raised there but came to Austin for college and never looked back. about the only way I would return is if someone offered me an 8-figure salary to be King Architect of Dallas. otherwise, go Stars and whatnot, but perfectly happy here and that city can have itself
  4. *bang bang bang*
  5. I'm mostly here for the coed showers
  6. we need to just hurry up and embrace the sci-fi world and have all sports be co-ed. if you can make the grade, it doesn't matter what is between your legs.
  7. whatever, just leave Bill out of this. he would have laughed at you
  8. click a few pages back and start reading
  9. I think we all won tonight
  10. I know this is gonna blow your mind, but from everything I've seen, yeah, inexplicably, it's a tie race right now
  11. this plus he saved it by first almost getting it repealed and then saying nah, basically. that was him saving. he didn't axe it.
  12. I think even the less plugged-in among us can look at the two candidates and say, "If something were to happen to the President, would this person do a good job?" That's about as far as the analysis goes. I think a lot of people who were undecided (whoever the hell that is at this point) can easily make a choice on that criterion alone.
  13. good news for him, he doesn't believe in satan. checkmate!
  14. oh you know someone will. patience
  15. wait, really? he tried to repeat that bullshit? I missed that in the all hubbub
  16. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that. I think I was better off not having seen that clip
  17. I welcome any chance for this country to come together and act as people based who judge each other on nothing other than their character. I appreciate this effort and agree it's an opportunity to be seized. but i disagree it might be our only chance. we can at any point decide to stop being assholes - we don't have to wait for elections to do it
  18. this plus repeal citizen's united, increase scotus seats, and abolish the electoral college and *voilà* republic saved
  19. we should all vow to do as little as possible to get our ballots thrown out when we vote. bring a picture id and your voter card, if you have it, wear nondescript and normal clothes (no political or campaign merch). bring a printed copy of the ballot with your selections, leave your phone in the car if you have to, be extra friendly to the poll workers, and don't talk to anyone coming or going. I still think it's bullshit that the non-harassment perimeter doesn't extend to the parking lot. I expect a lot of canvassers and ne'er-do-wells alike will be bugging people heading in and exit pollers will be trying to talk to people coming out.
  20. because these fucks search out loopholes like fucking bloodhounds
  21. maybe they're waiting for deer season?
  22. the last couple broadcasts worked well for me - even the hockey huddle bullshit (which is what our last preseason game will be). I'm betting it will be fine come go time.
  23. haha, shit. no excuse, just missed it. thanks for going easy on me
  24. is that Haley Joel Osment?
