  1. @686 Tell us about your rifles. They look like well thought out tools...curious if they are custom, ots, etc? What kind of glass, calibers, and supression? PS - Is your daughter wearing suspenders? That's awesome.
  2. This thread is dreadfully slow this year. I was getting excited about TG week...but damnit, the heat is returning. FML.
  3. Hook’em!!! Told the kid he could decide what was for gameday lunch. He said “pigs in a blanket”. Fuck yeah, lets roll!
  4. Had fun watching this guy on Saturday. Weather was a little warm in the afternoon...but I can't argue. Curious to get consensus on his age. I've guessed him at 4.5 and hoping he makes it another year or two. IMG_6424.MOV
  5. This is where my mind immediately went. If my Average YPC was 17.1 and my QB was incapable of passing beyond 10-15 yds....I am pretty sure 18 yr old me would be raising hell too. Hopefully that's not the case, but if it is, it's an indicator that the team may not be as aligned with the Coach as they need to be. At the end of the day, culture is important...but so is accountability, and I'd likely be calling BS on the culture if the culture simply said "let's all keep acting like there's a deep threat...."
  6. I agree...we should be 8-0, but we got Quinned.
  7. I can't believe I'm saying this....maybe it's because I'm old, or just cranky about life, or perhaps both....but I'm seriously considering delaying until next weekend. Fuck this hot weather BS. The lows don't get any lower than 66 where I'm hunting. Just depressing. @Spaulding Smails That is a good looking deer. Wish I had one like that...even if just to look at.
  8. I'm surprised this caliber argument persists so well with time. Since scopes have both evolved and become more readily available to allow a quick adjustment of dope, almost any caliber can be made into a shooter at practical hunting ranges. This has been said above, but practice with your own and knowing the rifle, the load, and the conditions around you all matter more than the caliber (imho). I have a lot of friends that spend a lot of money (in my accounting) on multiple factory rifles...I always recommend selling them and going custom build with one caliber that you can then work towards achieving excellence with it. You don't even have to go all in...just get a local smith to throw on a good barrel, bed the action, maybe work the trigger a bit, and thread the fucking barrel. Get a high quality scope (2nd hand is fine). Purchase the equipment and learn to load (or join a friend to help get you started....or test out 4-5 different custom loads from suppliers and see what works best for your setup, as an alternatively to loading yourself). Suppress it if within your means. For CenTex, I love my little 300BO Rem 7 build...it's quiet, light weight / convenient, insanely accurate with tsx handloads, and I trust my little NF 2.5-10x24 to dial it in at any range within 300 yds (limiting to that because I haven't practiced with it further). It eats venison and piggies all day long.
  9. I'm not a football wizard like the rest of you guys, but I can smell chickenshit when I step in it. Does anyone have access to data on the % of check downs or behind the LOS throws? The one thing that keeps eating at me is the completion percentages....every time the announcer sucks Quinn's dick and highlights his great performance for the day, I ask myself "half of those were at / behind the LOS". I'm not convinced its fear, or the line not protecting him, or if he just simply cannot read the defense and find opportunities....but damn, the number of frantic / scared / confused check downs is uninspiring. There's lies, damned lies, and statistics.
  10. We might be long lost friends. Me and my buddy (both engineering students) went to the UO launch party at Paradox Night Club. That shit was epic....miss those days of gaming. Got to play alongside Lord British (Richard).
  11. Looks like a really cool non-typical growth just above his right eye (and perhaps a similar growth on the left side?). He definitely has those young bucks stirred up...lol.
