  1. But you can’t consider FSU playing with a 3rd string freshman QB.
  2. I think we would be unwise to assume an easy game. OSU comes prepared to play against us, usually. That being said, Vegas has the line at -15 for a reason.
  3. Jedd Fisch is the greatest coach of all time. Everyone wanted to hire him but aggy pulled off a miraculous coup. There was a secret network of sips, liberals, and immigrants conspiring to hold aggy back from the greatness that they deserve. But that network has been defeated. This will go down in history books alongside aggy’s other great military triumphs. Commemorative cups and t-shirts will soon be available at texags.com.
  4. He is a “sitting” P5 coach. aggy only hires royalty.
  5. I’ve come to the conclusion that it doesn’t really matter who they hire because the institutional idiocy of aggy will pull the new coach into mediocrity, whoever it is. Go ahead and hire Deboer or Urban or Dabo. It literally doesn’t matter. The sleeping giant will continue sleeping. Also, it was hilarious hearing Bjork lecture the public on how to set up an incentive based contract.
  6. It always seemed like he was too heavy and wasn’t quick off the ball. Somehow he gained weight this offseason (I think) and is probably our best first-move guy on the DL. He’s a legitimate candidate to go top 10 in the NFL draft.
  7. A full 2 yards difference. 3rd and 3 instead of 3rd and 5. My penalty analysis from above can’t/doesn’t account for fuckery like this, but it’s at least as significant as the penalties.
  8. I went back and updated the spreadsheet to account for the last two games against TCU and ISU. I also pulled in all conference games from weeks 4-11 that involved either of these teams (previously they were excluded). Here are the results: Games not against Texas —— Average penalties: 5.2 Average penalty yards: 44.4 Average opponent penalties: 5.0 Average opponent penalty yards: 40.9 Games against Texas —— Average penalties: 4.0 Average penalty yards: 30.3 Average opponent (Texas) penalties: 6.4 Average opponent (Texas) penalty yards: 50.5 Conclusions —— Our opponents can expect to be called for 1.2 fewer penalties for 14.1 fewer penalty yards than their average in conference play. They can expect their opponent (Texas) to be called for 1.4 additional penalties and 9.6 additional penalty yards relative to the average of their other conference opponents. TLDR we are getting consistently fucked to the tune of nearly 25 net penalty yards per game. The sample size is now 53 games. This is not random chance.
  9. The “3rd and 1” that resulted in a TD was clearly a first down. I also recall a 1st down run by ISU that resulted in a TFL but was instead ruled a gain of 1.
  10. Refs were doing their best in the 1st half to give ISU the opportunity to take the lead. When it became clear they couldn’t do it, even with help, in the 3Q they evened it up a little bit at the end. I will say though. That illegal formation penalty was a killer for ISU. Correctly called, but not one that I expected.
  11. The only thing we know for sure is that aggy is going to fuck up this decision in spectacular fashion.
  12. The smart thing would be to hire a G5 up and comer for $4M a year, accept that this is a multi-year rebuild, and lay low for a while. But when has aggy EVER done the smart thing?
  13. There’s no reason at all for Fisher to negotiate against himself like this. He can still take the WVU job and make every bit of the $75M. It seems like the aggy BOR is much more miserable than he is.
  14. I need Liucci to explain how this is the ultimate power move that signals that the sleeping giant is awakening.
  15. Who the hell do they hire to replace him? I would say that you can’t fire Jimbo without a replacement already lined up, but this is aggy.
  16. Pedo state deserved to have their football program disbanded forever. Doesn’t change the fact that Michigan sucks.
  17. So Michigan: 1. Cheated 2. Got caught 3. Wants to play the role of victim Fuck these clowns
  18. Any team with a pulse can sleepwalk their way into 9 wins in the Big10. Their brand of football is total garbage.
  19. Both the father and mother deserve to be in prison also. They’re currently being sued by the feds to return something like $25M of stolen money that was given or “loaned” to them.
  20. At what point does ownership get involved in this issue? Fans aren’t showing up on Sunday to watch Jonnu Smith jet sweeps and to buy a Tyler Allgeier jersey. I know Blank is a “hands off” type of owner but this issue has pretty much gone viral and turned the Falcons into a laughingstock.
  21. Because I hate Big 12 refs and have too much time on my hands I decided to look at the data for this year’s conference games and try to figure out whether there is any validity to the idea that games are called different against us. I looked only at the teams that we have played so far (Kansas, OU, KSU, BYU, Baylor, Houston). Here is what I found: Games not against Texas —— Average penalties: 5.4 Average penalty yards: 48.9 Average opponent penalties: 5.4 Average opponent penalty yards: 45.9 Against Texas —— Average penalties: 3.7 Average penalty yards: 26.0 Average opponent penalties: 6.2 Average opponent penalty yards: 48.5 Conclusions —— Against Texas, an opponent can expect to be called for ~2 fewer penalties and ~26 fewer penalty yards than their average in Big 12 play. They can expect their opponent (Texas) to be called for ~1 additional penalty and ~3 additional penalty yards than average. Officiating crews are, statistically speaking, having a much greater effect by failing to call penalties against our opponents than by calling extra penalties against us. This is consistent with the examination of holding / PI calls posted earlier in the thread.
  22. Fat Gary starting sweating profusely at the thought of these conditions.
  23. WVU is not an easy out this year. They’re 6-3 and should be 7-2 if it wasn’t for the miracle Hail Mary that Cougar High completed against them. The only team with an “easy” remaining schedule is Okie State (UCF - UH - BYU). As long as we take care of business, I think they’re the odds on favorite to be our opponent in the championship game.
  24. I stand correct. But…is Michigan State actually better than CMU?
  25. Did they really need to cheat to beat CMU? Aren’t they supposedly a powerhouse? By all means, Michigan, go ahead and give Harbaugh that contract extension. It will make the court battle after his show-cause penalty a lot more interesting.
