  1. I understand the Big XII giving us the middle finger on the way out since we sorta fucked them over. But, two things: 1. They deserve it. It has been so mismanaged over the years it’s unbelievable. My favorite example was them coming up with the “One True Champion” tagline and failing to envision a potential tie in a round-robin conference schedule. The “One True Champion” conference awarded two conference title trophies that year and quickly scrapped the slogan. 2. Reality is going to slap them pretty hard when we (along with OU) are gone. I’m sure the Cincinnati - Kansas State game is really going to light up the airwaves in the 11am slot on NBCSN.
  2. Speaking of leaders, I know I have spotted one who ISN’T. Sark… Every time they cut to a picture of him on the sideline, he’s either kneeling away from the rest of the coaches with his head buried in this play sheet or staring into the void with a mix of confusion and fear on his face.
  3. PK is the defensive equivalent of Greg Davis. Instead of throwing a 5 yard route on 3rd and 8, we teach our defense to play 8 yards off the ball on 3rd and 5. It’s a yin-yang thing.
  4. To his credit. He tried to hurdle a defender today. It was a spectacular failure, but he tried.
  5. I’ve never seen a group of pass catchers this bad before. Josh Moore contributed a dropped TD, a fumble, and an INT (basically). Marcus Washington contributed two back-breaking drops to go along with his 15 receiving yards. Cade Brewer continued his incredible streak of going down on first contact. He may be the first 5-year starter in CFB to finish with 0 broken tackles. …. I long for the glory days when we had elite talent like John Harris and Geoff Swaim carving up the defense.
  6. Bijan and Worthy are elite level talents. Would have a spot on 2005/2008 type teams. Overshown is decent/pretty good. Would be a contributor on most Texas teams of the last 25 years. Casey would probably be a better backup than most that we’ve had in the recent past. Every other starter - all 18 of them - should never see the field on a Texas football team. If our standards weren’t so incredibly low due to the last decade of futility it wouldn’t even be a discussion.
  7. Do we have the option for a running clock on these games? Or could we end them at half? The idea of playing 60 minutes scares you to death.
  8. As long as they expand the field to 64 I think we’ve got a pretty decent shot next year.
  9. They have eternal scoreboard on us. So no.
  10. Thanks, I feel a lot better now.
  11. We need to be searching for guys exactly like Baylor’s center. IDGAF if he played at Buffalo, he probably showed some semblance of competence and maybe occasionally blocked someone successfully. More than we can say for most (all) of the OL we trot out there every game. I’m sure Flood is not the issue. Even with Bama’s incredible talent at the position it is pretty clear that they were also well coached. This leads me to believe we are probably putting our best 5 out there. Absolutely sickening.
  12. In Mack’s prime, it seems like we won the halftime adjustment battle damn near EVERY game. I haven’t seen us do that once under Sark.
  13. Go check out the 2018 recruiting class. Half of them portaled or got injured, the other half just plain suck. Those are the guys who should be leading this team right now.
  14. He hit Josh Moore in between two Baylor defenders on a perfectly thrown ball for a TD at the end of the 1H. Moore dropped it. Moore then made up for it by dropping another pass leading to an INT on the very next play. He also hit Marcus Washington in the hands twice in the second half on balls that traveled 30+ yards in the air. Washington dropped both. I have never seen a WR group this bad in my life. Anyone blaming this on Casey or claiming that Card would do better is a certifiable dumbass.
  15. Honestly, great win for aggy but as usual it doesn’t matter. They have two division losses. Bama will win out and go to the title game.
  16. It’s crazy to say that the offense failed us when we put up 48 points, but I think it’s the truth. We had way too many 3-4 plays drives consecutively in the 3rd and 4th quarters which forced our defense to be on the field for ~25 more plays than the OU defense. Our starting front 7 are not world beaters to begin with, it becomes a big problem when they are gassed. All we needed to do was score a TD at some point during the 3Q and keep momentum from completely swinging. And even with the offensive failures, OU took 3-4 true miracle plays along with a massive helping from officials to pull it off. Both of our lines basically suck. This is understood. But I think that we have a CHANCE to win out and make the title game. It’s going to take continued high level play tomorrow Casey and Bijan, plus at least competent play on the OL and DL but all is not lost at this point in the season. Vegas had our win total at 7.5 to start the year. If we can get 9 or 10 regular season wins, I would say the year is a success.
  17. I’m just going to assume season ending.
  18. We fucked up by completely abandoning the lateral run/pass game in the 3rd and most of the 4Q. Those plays to Worthy, Moore, and (should have been) K Robinson would keep the defense honest and prevent them from crashing down every play against Bijan or to rush the passer. They worked great in the first half. No idea why we stopped.
  19. I did it in 2007. It’s definitely not a thing anymore. I think there are police at every entrance and it’s 100% electronic etc.
  20. Every time Casey has gotten on the field, good things happen. We’re not an elite team but he gives us a shot against most opponents.
  21. I was very surprised when Karic did not start the season. He looked great as a true freshman. I have more confidence in Flood than I did in any of the parade of fools we’ve had coaching the OL for the past decade or so. However, I also think that the “Alabama effect” is real. Assistant coaches at Bama benefit from Saban running the program with an iron fist and having 4-5 years worth of #1 recruiting classes at their disposal. There are lots of coaches who would look good under those conditions. Hopefully there’s enough game tape, and Flood is willing to admit a mistake, such that he’ll adjust the starting 5 as necessary.
  22. Getting the blowout is highly underrated for exactly this reason. Live game experience is very valuable for young guys or those who are playing behind an established starter. Just don’t tell Tom “you only have to win by 1” Herman.
  23. Seems like throwing the ball over the middle into a crowd of about 10 people is a bad idea when all you need to do is run out the clock.
  24. Casey is a gamer. The decision is already made. We’ll just see when Sark announces it.
  25. It seems like Card doesn’t have good football instincts. In the first quarter against ULaLa it was 3rd and 7ish and he broke the pocket and could have easily gone for 10+ by just running straight up the field. Instead he turned parallel to the LOS at about 5 yards and got in a foot race towards the sideline with a couple of defenders. He made it in this case, but it just seems like he doesn’t see obvious plays when they’re there. He is also solely responsible for 3 missed TD throws and arguably a 4th TD on the turnover. After that play, they zoomed in on Sark’s face and he asked someone through the headset “was there pressure or something?” Card has no pocket presence and just looks unnatural moving around with the ball.
