  1. My neighbor is a union rep and his boss is Ethiopian and voted for Trump. So not only did he not represent his membership well or lead them away from disaster, he potentially could be deported or lose his job because DEI, regardless of truth. He's that damn stupid. This country did get lazy and dumb--they had it so well that they forgot who they work for, past world wars and their civic duty. The pursued a better, Christian America through a dumb as fuck mob boss. Time for real pain to replace the imaginary. Oh well, leopards gotta eat. And cheers, mom, you deserve the medicare and medicaid you voted for.
  2. We stayed at an airbnb in Madrid and people were protesting how the housing prices were going up and locals were getting priced out. Had one elderly lady tell us as we were leaving to grab food that we didn't live there and shouldn't be staying there. Thought, hmmm, I'll pass that on. But it's a problem. Was on the news in DC too. There were buildings where people bought condos but nobody lived there, and since there was a housing shortage, they were blaming airbnbs for driving rent prices up.
  3. Spent 10 days there and had a great time. WE explored Lisbon on south. Figured I'd do a return trip and head from Lisbon north. Lots of interesting stuff also on atlasobscura.com too. Stayed at https://dearlisbon.com/palace/ (Chiado) which was nice and they wheeled a breakfast cart either outside my door or into an inner room--was like five or six of them extending from the door to the bedroom. But it was pretty great location. I always do a walking tour wherever I go to learn the history and get my bearings. South coastal region is like under 2.5 hours from Lisbon. Think I put in Blondie's greatest hits and just drove. Easy peasy. If I can find pics, I'll post if you're interested. Portugal reminds me of California. A local told us about a fantastic beach (great topless women--no picts) and the wife and I went and just hung out for a half day, had dinner at a restaurant overlook and it was awesome.
  4. You can’t, the billionaires will own the rubble and the land it’s under.
  5. I wish it affected the Rogan bros in college more than it will.
  6. That was supposed to happen to the other person, preferably brown. Whoops!
  7. Works for Cubans too. https://www.npr.org/2021/11/08/1053647192/misinformation-on-spanish-talk-radio-in-miami-is-tearing-families-apart
  8. This makes me feel better about missing that show. I always kicked myself for not going. This show, the Ramones at the bronco bowl and the first Jane’s addiction/love and rockets tour have been my regrets.
  9. Tie between Mazzy Star who sang in the dark with her back to the audience the entire night and Kings of Leon that played with the lights on and shot straight through their set list and scrammed. Prob had other stuff they’d rather be doing. My buddy who ran a recording studio got in for free and said it was a waste of his time.
  10. We'll never play that game in any kind of a consolidated effort. Musk showed that fractures in the party can be exploited with money--pay people to go against their interests. We'll never know the full extent to which he did this during the election or its effects, but it sure didn't help. Democrats have too many hats and different interests, whereas Republicans unify over white privilege. The rich don't care--see Snoop. What happened to Snoop "fuck Donald Trump" Dogg? The uber rich aren't governed by Nationalism, they're above that. We hurt each other and stay divided, each cut reinforcing why we hate our neighbor, rather than those running the show. They don't actually fight in the rings they create.
  11. It's not an echo chamber--just have to put forth an argument that merits defending. Currently, the GOP isn't worth defending. It's Americans vs tech bros and billionaires. They latter doesn't represent American interests because the super rich don't heed nationalism, only tax cuts. Nationalism's only a call to get suckers to sell their shares of unalienable rights afforded them by being Americans. Cancer research, nah, fuck that shit, this is America, and taxes for the rich prevail over children's cancer research. If they wanted it, they could've funded it as a separate bill, but that didn't happen: https://rallyfoundation.org/five-pediatric-cancer-bills-cut-from-the-2025-budget/ https://www.newsweek.com/pediatric-cancer-research-funding-removed-spending-bill-2003860 https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/mind-blowing-trump-wanted-90m-for-inauguration-while-cutting-190m-from-cancer-research/ar-AA1whqIB Fuck all of them--this alone should get them out of their corners and support Americans, any opposition to modern Republicans. This is why I can't watch the current administration's violation of Americans civil liberties. It's sickening and shameful.
  12. They run the old "You're either with us or against us." That's intentionally really difficult to negotiate with.
  13. If it's GOP, they've said in the past on multiple occasions, they will not work with Democrats. People keep saying the Dems should reach out and work with....who? Those that have stated they won't and will primary those that do? Who are these forgotten Conservatives that are in a corner waiting to get accepted by moderates? It's bad faith you'll accept all our conditions or we won't work with you negotiating. I'm here for the GOP supporters getting their faces and anuses violated, because it's for sure coming.
  14. So much good music posted. I need to catch up.
  15. They're only getting older, but still fun to see. They usually come through either once a year or every other year.
  16. The Weather Station and Sharon Van Etten in April, The Wedding Present in May, Pixies in June. Kicking myself for missing Cracker, but life gets busy.
  17. I understand this sentiment, but we're Americans and we didn't vote to deserve any of this.
  18. Trump, on anything: Pay me. If you want it or it matters, pay me.
  19. That’s how I feel about Taaffe. Just think he’s at his apex as a safety, or better yet, as an uninjured safety. But sure, come back for the last year and try for glory—only get these college years once.
  20. I can't wait to see a qb that can throw deep passes to speed receivers with regularity. Small steps, but that's next on my wish list. Also, more TE, because that was there. Helm was criminally underutilized that last two games.
  21. Oh well, at least Texas wasn't some bitch ass, mercenary Phil Knight bought Oregon losers.
  22. Convenient you left out first and goal from the one. That adds a lot of context.
  23. There’s no Helm wasting in the wing to play only when you decide to notice him. We don’t know what we got at running back and will be down a Banks. A lot of regression is going to happen. We don’t know what attrition will look like, and that’s not addressing defensive tackle. We also are down one great ass experienced corner. This team could’ve been really special.
